Possible Couple Alert: Kanye West and Selita Ebanks

The last time we checked, Selita Ebanks was dating a hulking mass of a New York Giants defensive end, Osi Umenyiora.

So Kanye West might wanna be careful.

After all, Life & Style is reporting that the rapper was spotted in New York City last week having dinner with Nick Cannon the Victoria's Secret model.

"They didn't look like a couple getting to know each other â€" they looked like they were already dating," said a witness. "They were openly affectionate at the dinner table, cuddling, kissing and whispering in each other's ears."

Sexy Selita

Has Kanye West seen Selita Ebanks nude?

Ebanks, of course, was engaged to Nick Cannon, who is currently married to Mariah Carey and formerly dated Kim Kardashian. In other words:

Make sure you bathe, Kanye.

** UPDATE: An Ebanks source has gone on record, saying: "They are just friends. They were with a large group that included Serena Williams and Selita's dad [at a recent Tenjune party]."

Alexis Phifer Confirms Break Up with Kanye West

The sad rumors are true: Alexis Phifer and Kanye West have ended their relationship.

Phifer herself has confirmed as much.

"It's always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends," Phifer told People Magazine. "I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met."

Happier Days

Added a friend:

"They'd been having problems. Kanye is really focused on his show; he's putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they've split."

Who do you think Kanye should date now?

Report: Alexis Phifer and Kanye West Break Up

Some get married - Eli Manning and Abby McGrew, for instance - while others call off their engagement. It's the circle of celebrity life.

Indeed, according to reports, Kanye West and Alexis Phifer have broken up. The rapper supposedly dumped his girlfriend, who he's been dating since 2002, without giving a significant reason.

Sources close to the hip-hop star claim Kanye even asked for his ring back.

Alexis, Kanye

It's all over for Alexis Phifer and Kanye West.

A source close to the couple said:

"Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn't keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out."

Alexis Phifer and Kanye West: Not Yet Married

Calm down, celebrity gossip tabloids.

While Kanye West and his fiancee Alexis Phifer will be walking down the aisle at some point, that day hasn't arrived yet.

The rapper rep told Us Weekly that Internet reports about a secret wedding ceremony in Europe are "untrue."

Kanye proposed to Phifer in 2006 while vacationing in Italy.

Kanye West and Alexis Phifer

Sources close to the Grammy-Award winning artists have said he would tie the knot with Phifer to honor his late mother's wishes that they make their relationship official. It just hasn't happened yet.

"I'm just going to go and get married," West told GQ last year. "I'm not going to make a big deal out of it."

Kanye West Performs, Pays Tribute to Donda West

While Amy Winehouse won the most awards, Kanye West may have captured the most hearts last night at the 50th annual Grammy Awards.

Following a pyrotechnic and effects-filled performance of "Stronger," with Daft Punk accompanying him, West sang a more low-key version of "Hey Mama" in honor of late mother, Donda West, who died in November.

In the Grammy Awards' most poignant moment, West slowly sang the words, his voice breaking at points. The rapper's eyes were full of tears by the end. Fiancee Alexis Phifer and numerous other musicians bordered on the same.

Kanye West, who later won beest rap album for Graduation, also had the word "Mama" shaved into his hair. Here's his performance from last night ...

Report: Kanye West to Marry Alexis Phifer

Some celebrity gossip may be mere wishful thinking - we'll believe Jessica Simpson nude when we see it - but the following rumor makes a lot of sense. Even if its source is The National Enquirer.

According to that tabloid: "Kanye West has a heart-rendering final tribute planned for his late mother: he intends to marry fiancee Alexis Phifer right after the holidays."

Alexis Phifer

Are wedding bells in the air for Alexis Phifer and Kanye West?

Reportedly, the tragic, sudden passing of Donda West has "brought into focus just how short life really is. Kanye doesn't want to wait any longer to make Alexis his wife," a family friend said. "He believes that this is what his mom would want him to do."

Unlike Tameka Foster, Phifer has been a welcome girlfriend and fiancee. Fans love her. So did Kanye's mom, who "loved Alexis and... was looking forward to seeing them get married," the source added.

Amy Winehouse Leads Grammy Awards Nominees

After enduring hard drugs, and times, of late, Amy Winehouse and Kanye West enjoyed some good news Thursday, earning 14 Grammy nominations total.

Kanye West, 30, whose mother, Donda West, died in November after undergoing plastic surgery at the (shady) hands of Dr. Jan Adams, earned eight nominations, including for the prestigious album of the year and rap album of the year.

Amy Winehouse, 24, who has battled health and substance abuse problems and the incarceration of husband Blake Fielder-Civil, picked up six nods, including album of the year, song of the year and record of the year, and best new artist.

Winehouse was the subject of ridicule even on what could have been a positive day for the British jazz crooner. Announcing the Grammy nods, George Lopez joked, "Can somebody wake her up around 6 this afternoon and tell her?"

Rehab

"Rehab" is Amy Winehouse's biggest hit. And where she needs to go.

Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and T-Pain were the other top earners with five nominations each. Artists with four each included Akon, Rihanna, Tim McGraw, John Newton, Ne-Yo, Rihanna, and Chris Daughtry.

In a race for record of the year with Amy Winehouse ("Rehab") are the likes of Beyoncé ("Irreplaceable"), Foo Fighters ("The Pretender"), Rihanna ("Umbrella") and Justin Timberlake ("What Goes Around Comes Around").

Kanye West Dedicates Song to Mother

Kanye West gave an emotional tribute to his mother Donda West in Brussels Sunday.

"There's nothing that she loved more than to come to the show and scream louder than any fan," he told a cheering audience. "She was my first fan that was screaming before anyone else.... If she was here, she would tell me, 'Get on that stage and kill it, dawg!'"

Sadly, Donda is not here anymore because Jan Adams is the world's worst doctor.

Before a woman began performing the Journey ballad, "Don't Stop Believing," West said: "I wanna dedicate this to my mother because of the words, the lyrics ... It says what she would want me to do, and that's to not stop believing."

Kanye West Breaks Down at Paris Concert

In Paris, France, embattled rapper Kanye West broke down in tears during his first concert since his mother, Donda West, died earlier this month at age 58.

Kanye West had begun to perform his track "Hey Mama" â€" which he wrote about Donda West, who passed away November 10 after apparent complications from plastic surgery â€" at Le Zénith in Paris Saturday, but he could not continue.

After being comforted by his band, West, 30, paused quickly and then left the stage. He later returned to perform "Stronger," MTV UK reports.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Kanye West's fiancée, Alexis Phifer, and her son were at the show. Check out the footage of Kanye in concert below.

Warrant Issued For Jan Adams; Donda West Remembered

An L.A. County Superior Court judge has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jan Adams, who didn't show up for a hearing today, reports TMZ.

Lori Ufondu sued Dr. Jan Adams and won a judgment of over $100,000 after he left a sponge inside her following surgery. Ufondu's lawyer says Dr. Adams hasn't paid.

Dr. Jan Adams was ordered to appear at 8:30 a.m. this morning in San Pedro, Calif., for a "judgment debtor" hearing, in order to establish where he had assets. The doctor didn't show, and the judge issued a warrant.

Jan Adams Photo

Dr. Jan Adams, who doesn't look or act shady whatsoever, operated on Kanye West's mother, Donda West, the day before she tragically passed away last week.

UPDATE: As of 2 p.m. PST, Dr. Jan Adams has surfaced walked into a Los Angeles County Courtroom to face one of his victims who sued him for malpractice and a botched surgery, TMZ is reporting live on the scene.

Dr. Adams was asked about the death of Kanye West's mom, and he said, "I can not comment appropriately until I receive the coroner's report." The "doctor" arrived, alone, in a black pinstriped suit and tie.

We will have more on the Jan Adams case as the story develops.

Meanwhile, colleagues, friends and family gathered Friday to celebrate the life of Donda West with music and tributes at a memorial service Friday at Chicago State University, where she was a faculty member for 24 years.

Fighting back tears, one good friend recalled that among other things, West was always "open and friendly with everyone. It didn't matter if you had a PHD, a bachelor's degree or no degree at all. She made everyone feel important."

Another friend read a poem in honor of Donda West about mothers, which included the lines: "How shall we celebrate mothers?/How shall we call them in the winter of their lives?/What melody will cure slow bones?/Who will bring them worriless late-years?/Who will thank them for hidden pains?"
