The daytime drama continues!

Just one day after word got out that Rosie O'Donnell would return to The View as a co-host of the popular chat show, Elisabeth Hasselbeck responded as only she can.

Hasselbeck blasted O'Donnell on Fox News, accusing the comedienne of equating US troops with terrorists. (Hasselbeck apparently didn't get the memo that Rosie's son attends military school):

Former View co-host Joy Behar demanded an explanation from Hasselbeck and today she got one. Kind of...

Behar took to Instagram to elaborate on her "analysis" of the O'Donnell situation and explain why she'll never retract her statements:

It's Deju Vu all over again for Joy Behar.

For many months during her stint as co-host of The View, Behar was stuck between a feuding Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck - and now that O'Donnell is on her way back, Behar finds herself once again being asked about the two rivals.

In light's of Rosie's likely re-hiring, Hasselbeck BLASTED the comedian this week, actually saying O'Donnell has "spit in the face of our military."

Speaking to CNN last night, Behar referring to this as a “a hate-filled remark,” one that hit “below the belt” and offered a simple question for Hasselbeck:

"I'd like Elisabeth to explain herself," Behar said. "What does she mean by that?"

"Isn't it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who basically is a good person?" Behar continued. "I mean, say what you want about Rosie O'Donnell, she's a very generous person, she has a million kids, she's always rescuing children."

The View gave Joy Behar quite the official send off this morning.

On the panelist's final day as host, the show's set was filled with past and former colleagues, along with beloved guests and friends.

And, following a montage that depicted Behar planting a wet one of numerous past couch mates, the comedian was surprised by a long smooch by ex-host Meredith Viera.

From there... it was on! Behar kissed Barbara Walters; Regis Philbin laid one on Whoopi Goldberg; pretty much everyone got in on the first base action. Watch now!

Jenny McCarthy has already been named a View replacement for Elisabeth Hasselbeck, but it remains unknown who will take over for Behar.

The latest chatter centers on Hoda Kotb.

Joy Behar is leaving The View after 16 years on the ABC daytime gab-fest.

The 70-year-old's contract is up in August and she has reportedly informed the network that she will not renew it as she moves on to other endeavors.

As of now, Joy Behar is the last original View cast members other than co-creator/executive producer Barbara Walters who is still on the panel.

“It seemed like the right time,” Behar told Deadline.

“You reach a point when you say, ‘Do I want to keep doing this?’ There are other things I want to do. I’ve been writing a play, I’ve been neglecting my standup.”

Joy Behar is not leaving ABC's The View, at least not yet, despite reports of her imminent departure ... but she will anchor a new show on Current TV.

Behar will co-host a 6 p.m. talk show Monday through Thursday starting in September for the low-rated outlet founded by former V.P. Al Gore.

The program will repeat in prime time. As a dry run of sorts, Behar will guest-host for the vacationing Eliot Spitzer next week on Current’s Viewpoint.

In a statement yesterday, Al Gore called Behar “a beloved veteran television personality with her finger on the pulse of what viewers care about.”

Well, sometimes. HLN last year axed The Joy Behar Show due to low ratings.

At least in this case, things are almost guaranteed to work out better for Joy and Current than when the network brought on Keith Olbermann.

Current hired the outspoken ex-MSNBC host to great fanfare and a high salary, then fired Olbermann after he warred with executives over technical issues, his work schedule and assorted other issues, which he's suing them over.

See Joy? The bar has been set unbelievably low for you.

The View co-host Joy Behar will have even more to talk about than usual - she and her longtime boyfriend, Steve Janowitz, have tied the knot.

Calling Steve her "longtime boyfriend" is actually an understatement. They have been dating for 29 YEARS. Hey, why rush a good thing, right?

"She was married in New York City last night in a private ceremony," a rep for the show said.. "She will discuss it September 6 on The View."

Joy Behar and Steve Janowitz

The talk show returns for its 15th season then. Behar's wedding date, August 11, coincidentally marks the anniversary of its 1997 debut.

Back in 2009, Behar said she and Janowitz, whom she referred to as her "spousal equivalent," would wed, only to break off the engagement later.

They never parted ways, though, and finally made it official this week. We offer our congratulations to the couple and wish them the best.

As her war of words with Joy Behar continued to escalate, Jersey Shore star Snooki decided to be the bigger person (for the first time in the 4'9" pip squeak's life).

On the Wendy Williams Show earlier in the week, Snooki apologized for tangling with The View host. Wednesday, Behar officially accepted Snooki's mea culpa.

Joy's amusing response, in light of Snooki's drunken antics this week: "I found the apology quite sobering - maybe that's not the right word." Watch it here ...

The bad blood started when Joy admitted on air that she has a "visceral reaction" to Snooki, who reminds her of kids who teased her when she was young.

She went on to berate the MTV star many more times, and recently, Snooki and JWoww fired back in video clip mocking Behar and The View.

Snooki ended it today, though, calling herself "a big fan of The View and Barbara Walters," before saying, "I'm sorry." Joy and Babs graciously accepted.

Taking a break from espousing their opinions on Gabrielle Giffords, Sarah Palin and blood libels, The View focused on something equally pressing this morning:

Responding to the Snooki and JWoww video from earlier in the week, which itself was a response to Joy Behar’s ridicule of them, Barbara Walters fought back.

Describing Snook as “a woman who drinks too much” (that's putting it mildly) and gets “smacked in the face,” Babs went about as far overboard as she can.

Behar commented drily, “I didn’t know they allowed cameras into AA meetings.”

Ohhh, you got them there. Your move, Jersey Shore cast. Your move.

Tiring of Joy Behar's constant insults on The View, Jersey Shore stars Snooki (Nicole Polizzi) and JWoww (Jenni Farley) decided to fight back their way.

By spoofing the talk show and its host in this awesome video, during which they use horrible Jewish accents and call Joy a bitter "Italian wannabe."

Joy, they say, just hates Jersey Shore because kids like that ruined her childhood ... during the Great Depression. Ohhh. Sadly, this is as good as SNL:

The irony? Joy Behar is actually not Jewish, but an agnostic who was raised Catholic. Behar is also Italian-American. Snooki and JWoww are not. Idiots.

Bill O'Reilly, you got off easy.

When that Fox News anchor appeared on The View last week, Joy Behar simply walked off the stage.

But Sharron Angle, who is challenging Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for his office in Nevada, received the full wrath of Behar on today's edition of that gabfest.

The show aired a new campaign commercial (posted below) in which Angle takes Reid to task for his handling of illegal aliens.

Intepreting the spot to be a comparison of Latinos to terrorists, Behar addressed the camera this morning and called Angle a “bitch," said she was “going to hell" and added that the candidate is “a moron on top of being evil."

Elisabeth Hasselbeck chimed in and agreed the ad is "wrong." Watch it now and then sound off with your take.
