Zooey, who now stars on Fox's New Girl, and Joseph, whose musical skills nearly rival his impressive acting resume, says they're "dearest friends."

A source says they have "discussing a project for a while [but] have never kissed," another insider explains that it started out that way, however:
"They first met about a film, but it's gone beyond that now."
A Johansson pal insists there's "nothing serious" going on between the stars ... yet. She's also been linked to Kieran Culkin within the last month.
