Adam Lambert on John Galliano: Forgive and Forget!

Adam Lambert loves his fashion.

So much so that the former American Idol finalist has taken a controversial stance on John Galliano, the former chief designer by House of Dior who declared in February that he loves Hitler and was found guilty of hate speech in a French courtroom earlier this month.

The singer took to Twitter yesterday and referred to Galliano as a "BRILLIANT designer," adding that he "screwed up and said offensive things. When can we forgive him and move on? LOVE his clothes. And I'm a born Jew!"

When a follower questioned Adam's logic - just because someone has a skill you appreciate means he or she can say or do whatever he or she pleases? - Lambert replied: not at all… But just cuz he's (was) an asshole, that means I can't wear his gorgeous clothes? #policalcorrectnessquestions

Where do you stand, folks? Should the public forgive Galliano?

Yes, he made on mistake!
No, he's despicable!

John Galliano Found Guilty of Hate Crimes

John Galliano was found guilty of hate crimes in a Paris court yesterday.

The fashion designer, who claimed a drug problem was the basis for his Anti-Semitic rant in February, received a light sentence on Thursday, as a judge issued a suspended fine of 6,000 euros ($8,500), as well as a symbolic one euro fine to one of the plaintiffs in the case.

Galliano will not serve any jail time.

Said the attorney for the former House of Dior employee:

"It's a fair decision and a wise decision by the tribunal. Mr Galliano is relieved after several months. He wishes to apologize and he acknowledges that he caused harm. I think he's relieved that all this is now behind him."

The John Galliano Anti-Semitism Defense: Drugs!

John Galliano entered a courtroom in Paris today to face charges of "public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity."

The former head of Christian Dior faces a possible sentencing of six months in jail for hurling anti-Semitic remarks at a Jewish couple in France this February. He told them he loved Hitler and made references to how their people were "gassed."

Such talk, labeled as "racial prejudice," is illegal in that country.

Galliano has since apologized for the outburst, but it will take more than that to get the fashion guru off.

John Galliano to Be Prosecuted Over Affection for Hitler

John Galliano picked the wrong country in which to praise Hitler.

The fashion designer, who was caught on camera railing against Jewish people in Paris last week, will stand trial later this year for these allegedly anti-Semitic remarks.

If found guilty of violating the 1990 Gayssot Act - which prohibits "any discrimination founded on membership or non-membership of an ethnic group, a nation, a race or a religion" - Galliano could face up to 6 months in jail and up to $31,000 in fines.

Man. Charlie Sheen should consider himself lucky to be giving interviews in America, huh?

John Galliano Condemns Anti-Semitism

John Galliano was caught on camera last week, stating he loves Hitler and saying the woman filming him would have been gassed if that German leader were still alive.

The House of Dior proceeded to fire its creative designer, who has now spoken out... and denied the words we all heard him say.

"I completely deny the claims made against me and have fully cooperated with the police investigation," Galliano said in a statement, referring to the fact that it's a  criminal offense to incite "racial prejudice" in France.

The designer, who has dressed celebs such Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, and Cate Blanchett - and who royally irritated Natalie Portman - is sort of apologetic, though:

"I must take responsibility for the circumstances in which I found myself. I must face up to my own failures and work hard to gain people's understanding and compassion. To start this process I am seeking help and all I can hope for in time is to address the personal failure which led to these circumstances and try and earn people's forgiveness.

"Anti-Semitism and racism have no part in our society."

Natalie Portman: Shocked and Disgusted by John Galliano, Anti-Semitic Rants

Natalie Portman has released a statement regarding the shockingly abrasive remarks made by designer John Galliano late last week.

The Dior Creative Designer was caught on camera over the weekend, blatantly saying he loves Hitler and telling a Jewish woman she would have "been gassed" if the former dictator was still in power.

Said Portman, who has worked with Galliano over the years: "I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano's comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way.

"I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful."

In light the aforementioned incident, Dior has fired Galliano. Said Chairman and CEO Sidney Toledano: "I unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano, which are in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of Christian Dior."

John Galliano Declares: I Love Hitler!

On Friday, John Galliano was suspended as the chief designer by House of Dior, as a couple in Paris complained that this fashion guru assaulted them with racial and religions slurs.

Specifically, patrons at a bar called La Perle told authorities that Galliano hurled anti-Semitic insults in their direction, a charge the designer's lawyer "formally denies," adding: "legal action will be taken against those making such accusations."

This allegation may now be harder to deny, however.

In a newly-released cell phone video, posted by Great Britain's The Sun, Galliano slurs his words and tells a woman: "I love Hitler. People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers, would all be f---ing gassed."

When asked where he's from, Galliano replies: "Your asshole."

Under French law, the stating of anti-Semitic remarks qualifies as "incitement to racial prejudice." It's a criminal offense that can carry a sentence of up to six months in prison.
