Jimmy Kimmel to Host White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

The White House Correspondents' Association has a found a host for its 98th annual dinner next April 28, and it should be a good one: Jimmy Kimmel.

"I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner," the host of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live said. "I love dinner."

Attended by the President and First Lady, other senior government officials, members of the press corps and Hollywood A-listers, the event offers a rare chance to let loose in the buttoned-up, polarized and combative world of politics.

Case in point: Here's President Obama's speech at this year's:

It's not all for fun and laughs - it's for a very good cause, too.

Proceeds from the dinner go toward scholarships and awards aimed at supporting aspiring journalists and recognizing excellence in the profession.

"Jimmy's humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience," said Reuters journalist Caren Bohan, president of the WHCA. "We are so thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner."

Seth Meyers was the MC at the 2011 event.

Jimmy Kimmel Bids Tear-Filled Farewell to Uncle Frank

Exactly two weeks after Frank Potenza passed away, the former New York City policeman's nephew delivered a tear-filled monologue last night.

It was the first show back for Jimmy Kimmel following the passing, and he scarcely made it through an opening that included heartfelt references to his Uncle Frank's penchant for being early and the deep appreciate he had for portraying Jimmy's sidekick since 2003.

“Thanks to those of you who watch for indulging me.... and letting me put my crazy uncle on TV," the host said, before airing the following tribute to his relative:

Frank Potenza, Uncle of Jimmy Kimmel, Passes Away

Frank Potenza, the uncle of Jimmy Kimmel and a long-time New York City police officer who retired in 2003 and became a often-used personality on his nephew's talk show, passed away this morning. He was 77.

Jimmy Kimmel Live has confirmed the news and released a statement referring to how much Frank's "kindness and humor" will be missed. His cause of death is unknown at this time.

"Thank you for your kind words about a very kind man - my Uncle Frank - who passed away this morning," Jimmy Tweeted a couple hours ago.

Shia LaBeouf on Justin Bieber: The Bomb!

Shia LaBeouf made Selena Gomez's dreams come true during a recent meeting between the stars.

But the Transformers actor told Jimmy Kimmel last night that he doesn't need to worry about Justin Bieber's reaction to that encounter. Why? Bieber is "cool."

“He rolls with like a huge squad," Shia said of Justin. "He has this presence like Buddha. He’s like the young prince... I went up to him [at the MTV Movie Awards] to say hi and security was like, ‘Whoa, whoa.’ He was ready to take me down. Bieber just does this two finger wave, like, he’s okay. So he’s very cool. Bieber’s bomb."

Elsewhere in the interview, LaBeouf hyped his new movie and talked about his family. Alas, he didn't reiterate how he tagged Megan Fox.

Watch two more clips of LaBeouf and Kimmel below.

Katie Couric Spoofs Kate Gosselin, Promotes "Katie Plus 80" Reality Show

Kate Gosselin returned to TLC Monday night with an new episodes of Kate Plus 8, but she may have competition in the giant family reality TV genre.

Get ready for Katie Plus 80!

During a Tuesday night visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, Couric, who just left the desk of CBS News after five years as anchor, gave us a sneak peek of her new reality show ... which is a joke, of course (and unfortunately) ...

While we won't be seeing Katie catapulting spaghetti and meatballs at a giant group of kids anytime soon, she is developing a new show with ABC.

Jason Sudeikis Said WHAT About Justin Bieber?!?

Good luck getting out of the MTV Movie Awards alive, Jason Sudeikis.

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last night, the host of Sunday night's event was asked about playing with Justin Bieber at this year's Celebrity All-Star game (for which the Biebs won MVP).

Replied the actor/comedian: “I didn’t even know it was [Justin] for the first two quarters. I thought it was a Make-A-Wish situation.”

Funny? We think so.

But will Beliebers agree? This is the same group comprised of fans who, in response to Justin's relationship with Selena Gomez, have posted such horrific Tweets as:

Taylor Lautner on Jimmy Kimmel Live: Breaking Dawn Dish, Abduction Sneak Peek

There was good news and bad news that resulted from Taylor Lautner's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week.

First, the good: Lautner shared some details on Breaking Dawn, specifically the fact that Kristen Stewart cried when filming was completed. "She's very sweet," Lautner said.

Now, the bad: Taylor kept his shirt on the entire time! What gives?!?

But he also showed us a clip from Abduction, while showing off the charm that has made him such a big star. Watch the interview, in three segments, below.

Britney Spears Brings "Big Fat Bass" to Jimmy Kimmel Live

Britney Spears' smash single “Till the World Ends” is burnin' up the charts and the radio airwaves, cementing its status as the best song she's produced in years.

Sadly, she declined to perform that song on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night.

She already did that one on Kimmel earlier this spring, so we'll allow it, we suppose. In its place Tuesday, we got "Big Fat Bass" (bass as in base, not Chuck).

The best part about this performance? The stage set, with Britney flinging herself over some bulging speakers. Watch her in all her lip-synching glory below!

Britney Spears Makes a Mean Poo Cocktail

Britney Spears appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and on top of performing two tracks from her new album, showed us how to make a very special cocktail.

This was, in fact (not really), a deleted scene from Jackass 3D. It may not have made the final cut, but Johnny Knoxville was kind enough to share it with us here.

It's called Poo Cocktail Supreme. Britney Spears is the "bartender" of sorts. If you get queasy easily, you might not want to watch this. Everyone else, go to it:

Mmm. Delicious. Makes you look forward to happy hour even more.

Follow the jump for Britney Spears performing "Till the World Ends" and "Hold It Against Me" on JKL. The latter performance was cut off as the credits rolled.

Kimmel Tweeted: “To all experiencing fits of intense hissy because the @britneyspears bonus song was short, not our decision if it airs online – artist mgmt.”

That explains it ... sort of. Check out both performances here:

Charlie Sheen Crashes Jimmy Kimmel Live

If Charlie Sheen really is returning to television, a surprise appearance by the actor last night left little doubt: a major fan base will follow him there.

Sheen popped up during a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, interrupting the host's interview with Mark Cuban - the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and founder of HDnet, who has discussed some kind of talk show with Sheen - and coming out to raucous applause.

The controversial star kissed Kimmel on the lips, handed out Charlie Sheen merchandise (t-shirts that made references to "WINNING" and "Tiger's Blood") and then departed after four minutes, saying "I have a show to write, dammit."

Sheen was raspy-voiced and seemingly in a great mood, and for good reason. Despite his recent run of nuttiness, just look at the adulation showered upon him by the studio audience:
