Following a string of terrible box office bombs and a country music stint that yielded little aside from fat Jessica Simpson pictures and forgotten lyrics, the star is turning to the last ditch entertainment genre in her bid to stay relevant:

Reality TV.

The alleged singer and actress, who recently endured criticism of her body while wearing mom jeans and showcasing her giant booty in concert, visited some TV networks to pitch a reality series about society's scrutiny of women's bodies.

The premise of the program, titled The Price of Beauty: "She and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of the tightest, cleavage baring tops they can possibly wear to get attention what people find beautiful and why."

In a recent Vanity Fair story, Simpson talked about criticism of her figure: "It comes with what I do, and I know that every day the media's going to challenge me."

The onetime Newlyweds star, 28, will be hands-on with the show - and will try some "shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful. Picture Fear Factor."

We'll picture Jodie Marsh instead.

The singer's rep tells celebrity news magazine Us Weekly; "Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalized at this time."

Cross your fingers for Tony Romo cameos.

Say what you want about Jessica Simpson, she is resilient.

After a tough few years - several movie flops, a risky and largely unsuccessful foray into country music, celebrity gossip stories about her being fat - you would think this star would be at the crossroads of obscurity. But she keeps hanging around.

The alleged music star is the subject of the cover story and a big photo shoot in the new issue of Vanity Fair this month, which must be a really slow one.

Can 28-year-old Jessica Simpson, now also the controversial girlfriend of NFL star QB Tony Romo, reinvent herself yet again? Or is this the end of the line?

Despite the criticism she's endured, this preacher’s daughter from Texas is one tough cookie. Thanks to the pervasive influence of manager-pimp-dad Joe, and the fact that talent is not a prerequisite for fame in America, she's here to stay.

Stop the celebrity weight loss presses.

Alleged singer Jessica Simpson - who has been battling scrutiny for her new curves (and mom jeans, and gigantic booty) so far this year - is back working out.

And she's not a fan.

"On my way to work out with my trainer," she wrote on her Twitter page. "Every time we have to do squats, he yells at me, 'Get lower like you're in the club!'"

Jessica's reply: "I don't squat in the club unless I am peeing!"

This is a fake picture of Jessica Simpson, but a good one.

A source says Simpson, who fancies herself as a sunset, is working with her longtime Mike Alexander, who told Fox last month that the singer wasn't miffed at all the coverage surrounding her fuller figure. Any PR is good PR, right?

"The whole thing wasn't as traumatic for Jessica as everyone made it out to be," he said. "She's a confident and naturally beautiful girl who works hard."

Jessica Simpson's life as a country singer might be over.

But it looks like the attention-starved, plastic beauty is already planning her next professional move.

Over the weekend, for reasons unknown, Jessica posted the following profound words on fan site sweetkisses.net. Might a (hilarious) career a poet be next in line for Simpson?

Why do we let the sun SET with its beauty, then find ourselves ugly.
Didn't God, whoever he may be to you, create both? If a sunset is beautiful, then so are we.
Love yourself morning, noon, and night. Sunrise. Sunset.

But didn't God also create granny pants, Jess? The sun can set beautifully all it wants, but you answered your own question about finding ourselves ugly when you wore that outfit.

Meanwhile, Simpson and boyfriend tried to avoid the paparazzi during a night out in West Hollywood Saturday They failed to do so, and looked miserable as a result...

Simpson blames weight gain on post-baby fat.

Back in December, Joe Galante, the head of Sony BMG Nashville, was furious with the antics of Jessica Simpson and threatening to drop her from the label.

Could these rumors be coming to fruition after her shaky tour with Rascal Flatts, during which she routinely forgot song lyrics and was letting herself go?

Looks that way, as Jessica is nowhere to be found on her label's websites.

As of right now, the alleged country singer's name appears nowhere among the artists listed on the sites of either Columbia Nashville or Sony Music Nashville.

Moreover, a search finds that any prior mention of Jessica Simpson pictures, profile, press releases - has been purged. Black ops. As if she never existed.

One can still find old press releases about the giant-breasted, lip-injection loving celebrity in cached pages on Google, but they do not exist anywhere on Columbia Nashville or Sony BMG Nashville’s websites at present.

Jessica's rep says she "is and has always been an Epic artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album, but continues to be on Epic's label."

Wonder how long that will be the case.

We would bad for Jessica, but Joe Simpson has made millions whoring her out to anyone that could pay, so how much sympathy can you really have. And occasionally remembering the lyrics isn't that much for paying customers to ask.

Celebs. They love their pouty, ridiculously fake and ugly lips.

Somewhere, sometime, someone told them this was the in thing. Then, like everything else, it gets overplayed and wildly out of hand in the blink of an eye.

Maybe everyone just wants to be Angelina Jolie (we know Octomom does). But perhaps they should consider adoption, not quadrupling the size of their lips.

LeAnn Rimes and Jessica Simpson seemed to put the past behind them on the set of their promotional ad for the Academy of Country Music Awards.

The country singers crossed paths years ago, when Simpson was dating Days of Our Lives star Jensen Ackles, who apparently cheated on her with Rimes.

Simpson called it her "first heartbreak" on an episode of Newlyweds. Rimes allegedly did some cheating of her own last week, as her affair with Eddie Cibrian, her hot co-star in Northern Lights, was exposed (if it's not a huge sham, that is).

But while shooting the promo video - which spoofs the NCAA Final Four - on February 11, the two goofed around while getting glamorous alongside fellow singers Kellie Pickler and Julianne Hough (yes, the Dancing with the Stars hottie).

"Jessica has a mouth guard, and I have an arm band," Rimes says. "It's really hysterical to see us try to walk and be sexy with all this basketball gear on!"

In the video, Jessica Simpson - whose fat pictures caused quite a stir earlier this winter - approaches Rimes, saying, "This is gonna be a big weekend!"

Rimes responds: "I know! We better start planning."

Having mercifully wrapped her concert tour, alleged country singer Jessica Simpson took the time to enjoy the sweet smell of success at a launch for her fragrance, "Fancy," at a Dillard's department store in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Saturday.

They should call it "Smells Like No Talent." Ohhh, snap.
