But ignorance is bliss, right?

Fresh from a wild night out in L.A. with Tony Romo, the alleged singer and actress arrived at New York's Kennedy Airport early Wednesday.

At least people in New York will be receptive to her after she helped the Giants beat the favored Cowboys en rote to the Super Bowl.

After a romantic date at Il Sole, Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson hit up the "Metal Skool" karaoke night at L.A.'s Key Club Monday night.

Jessica Simpson's ex assistant, Cacee Cobb, took to the stage first, and after she was finished, began screaming, "Tony has to come up here!"

Eventually, the club's audience (calling him a pu$$y in various chants) coaxed the all-star Dallas Cowboys quarterback to the stage.

Meanwhile, other talented, handsome quarterbacks, such as Tom Brady and Eli Manning, prepare to actually play football in this Sunday's Super Bowl XLII.

Stunning news: OK! magazine may have got one wrong!

Days after vehemently denying reports that they broke up, or at least almost broke up, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo enjoyed a romantic date at the West Hollywood Italian restaurant Il Sole on Monday night.

Such a romantic date that it included eight friends, including Simpson's former bitch Cacee Cobb, her beau, Donald Faison and Simpson's stylist, Ken Paves.

"Jessica had no makeup on and her hair was thrown to the side in a bun," a witness reports. "She seemed very comfortable and laid back with Tony and not at all worried about looking good or impressing him."

Another spy adds: "Tony couldn't stop touching Jessica!"

At one point, as Jessica Simpson chatted up Cacee Cobb, Tony Romo, "put his finger under her chin and turned her face towards him and gave her a long kiss while holding her face in his palm," the witness reports.

The PDA continued during dinner (Jessica Simpson had pasta with parmesan cheese and drank Veuve Clicquot; Tony Romo sipped on red wine).

"They ate off each other's plates!" the onlooker tells Us.

While Cobb and Paves chatted (topics included, naturally, Britney Spears shaving her head), "Jess and Tony were whispering in each others ears and having private conversations," the witness adds.

"A few times it looked like Jessica had to fill [Tony Romo] in on some of the inside jokes between her and her old friends. She would tell him a story and then rest her head on his shoulder."

Afterward, they hit up Metal Skool karaoke night at the Key Club in L.A., where Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson serenaded each other. Says the spy:

"He was singing directly to her â€" and she was on cloud nine!"

Sounds similar to the romantic date between Eli Manning and Abby McGrew in N.Y., only he's actually playing in the Super Bowl next Sunday!

Jessica Simpson is pissed about the OK! magazine article we told you about yesterday, which suggested she got (almost) dumped by Tony Romo.

She's reportedly taking legal action against the celebrity gossip rag.

Titled "Jessica Dumped!" and appearing in the February 4 issue, the article claims Tony Romo dumped Jessica Simpson after his team, the Dallas Cowboys, was eliminated from the NFL playoffs by the New York Giants.

Simpson's lawyers say the article is "utterly false" and "based on nothing more than rumor, gossip and innuendo." The article also claims Jessica's sister Ashlee Simpson has even attempted to "distance herself" from Jess.

The attorneys say that's B.S. too.

A dejected Tony Romo dumped Jessica, or tried to, according to reports.

Simpson's lawyers have sent a letter to OK!'s Editor-in-Chief, Sarah Ivens, claiming OK!'s article is completely bogus, adding that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are still together and that Ashlee and Jessica remain close.

The attorneys say the article is a "smear campaign" and has subjected Jessica Simpson to "public contempt, ridicule, aversion or disgrace."

Actually, her lack of talent and faltering career have taken care of that. But still, if that stuff's not true, they've got a decent point.

Just when it seemed like Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo might go all the way (so to speak), rumors are surfacing that they're on the rocks.

According to OK! Magazine, insiders say a hunting trip the two enjoyed last weekend was a last-ditch effort to save their relationship.

OK! also says Tony Romo has already tried to dump Jessica Simpson.

After his playoff loss to the Giants, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback called Jessica to try to break things off, but she talked him out of it.

"He said he thought it would be better if they went back to being friends," a pal of Jessica's said. "'Just friends' isn't in Jessica's vocabulary, and she is not a victim. She knows how bad this will look in the media."

According to the pal, Jessica refused to give up, and so Tony invited her on what he thought would be the worst date of her life: a hunting trip!

"It's Tony's way of punishing Jess," laughs her friend. "Jessica Simpson hunting â€" and without her entourage? Forget it!"

Is Tony Romo looking to stop huddling up with Jessica Simpson?

According to the Simpson insider, "Tony Romo has finally started to realize how high-maintenance Jessica is," says her friend. "We're talking diva status. She comes with an entourage, and that includes her dad, Joe Simpson."

Joe Simpson, as we know, also doubles as Jessica's pimp.

Only time will tell if these two will make it, but at least Tony's teammate Terrell Owens seems to be making progress in the romance department.

Sadly, John Mayer didn't speak out about Jessica Simpson nude when he was tapping that singer.

But the cheesy singer is now coming to the defense of his ex-girlfriend, who idiotic Cowboys fans are blaming for their team's demise in the playoffs this season. They've dubbed her affect on Tony Romo as the "Jessica Jinx."

"I don't really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state, and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I'm betting emotions are running high right about now," Mayer wrote on his blog.

He also asked that celebrity gossip followers look past their usual points of criticism for a change.

"All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know," Mayer continued. "It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don't try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn't be able to, but it's less work for all involved.)"

Jessica's other defining traits are her two giant boobs. We're just sayin.

Somehow, we missed this story earlier in the day.

But The New York Post - venerable newspaper that it is - figured that simply reporting on the news of the Dallas Cowboys/New York Giants game yesterday wasn't enough.

Therefore, the publication set out to make news by hiring Lynsey Nordstrom to portray Jessica Simpson in the stands.

The 21-year from Washington actually does a mean look-alike of Tony Romo's girlfriend, and the resulting Dallas loss did lead to Terrell Owens crying.

So, what we're trying to say is: Way to go New York Post! We'll see Lynsey Nordstrom in Green Bay this Sunday, right?

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo knows he has to watch out for New York Giants defensive star Michael Strahan on the field when their teams square off this Sunday, but the lineman has Romo's back in other respects.

When asked yesterday what he thought about Romo's South of the Border jaunt with sexy singer Jessica Simpson, Strahan said he'd do the same thing.

"Heck, if Jessica Simpson wanted to date me, I may give her a shot," said the Giants Hall of Fame-bound defensive end, who is recently divorced.

DECEMBER: Jessica Simpson cheered on Tony Romo at Texas Stadium. Normally loyal Dallas fans were livid when he had a terrible game and the Cowboys lost.

Tony's teammate, Terrell Owens, even jokingly chided the quarterback for being distracted by Simpson, who won't be there for the big game Sunday.

As for Michael Strahan, well, he's in Tony Romo's corner.

"I can't blame the guy," Strahan said.

She may not be as reviled as Kelly Tilghman, but Jessica Simpson isn't what you'd call popular among sports enthusiasts these days.

At least not among Cowboys fans.

She's been touted as the rival New York Giants' secret weapon this coming Sunday, when her boyfriend Tony Romo leads his Dallas team into battle.

The "singer" faced criticism from Dallas fans after she rooted on Romo at Texas Stadium December 16 when the Cowboys lost to Philadelphia.

Simpson wore a pink jersey. Romo had his worst game ever.

Then, this past week, the pair enjoyed romantic vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, sparking renewed concern that Dallas' season may be doomed.

Jessica Simpson may be hot, and from Texas, but Dallas Cowboys fans don't care - they just want Tony Romo focusing on the damn football game Sunday.

Well, perhaps because of the scrutiny Tony Romo has received from all this, it now looks like she's gonna sit Sunday's Cowboys-Giants game out.

Jessica's PR rep said: "She is not attending. She is working on a new album. She'll be watching [on TV] and cheering him on."
