Not on his playoff failures as an NFL quarterback. Oh no. The Dallas Cowboys star is going on the record regarding more important things.

"It's all laughable," he said of the celebrity gossip world's recent characterizations of him as a pawn of Jessica and Joe Simpson.

This is Romo's first public comment following reports that Joe Simpson is a meddling influence - both with his relationship with Jessica Simpson and his business life - and that his own parents dislike the Simpsons.

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have been dogged by rumors that her father has been interfering throughout their nearly seven-month-old courtship.

Romo insists that is "so far from the truth."

He even said his father, Ramiro, went to the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Ga., with Joe Simpson earlier this year and "had a great time."

It looks like Jessica Simpson's meddling father, Joe Simpson, isn't the only person to blame for her recent relationship woes with Tony Romo.

Although the two are now back together for "on trial basis," a friend told In Touch about Jessica's supposedly raging jealousy issues.

"Jessica can be so insecure when she is with Tony, and it only gets worse when he is around other women," said the friend.

The pal says any female competition is bound to upset Jessica, but the subject of Tony's ex, Carrie Underwood, really riles her.

"(Jessica) is really upset that (Tony Romo) is still communicating with Carrie," the source told the celebrity news magazine.

In the wake of recent celebrity news stories that he was the main source behind Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo almost breaking up (twice now), Joe Simpson tells Extra he's not the controlling father we think he is.

"The media says that I try to plan everything - If I had half of the power they give me... They [Ashlee and Jessica] don't call me and ask me. They call me and tell me," Crazy Joe told the celebrity news program.

He adds that Jessica Simpson "... is as happy as I've seen her in years." and gushes about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Romo, "He is such a great guy. I love Tony to death ... He's just a good kid."

Come on. Who wouldn't trust Joe Simpson, right?

Several sources reported that Joe Simpson asked Tony Romo, 28, to dump his agent and allow him to help represent him. As tension grew, the NFL star gave Jessica an ultimatum: Tell your dad to frickin' back off!

Look out, underwear-wearers everywhere. Jessica Simpson is adding lingerie designer to her lengthy, mostly terrible resume.

The "singer" and "actress" apparently already has successful handbag, shoe, sunglass and swimsuit lines. Seriously, she does.

Now, Jessica Simpson Intimates will be joining her empire.

The collection of bras, undies, sleepwear and daywear are all poised to hit department stores, online shopping sites and Tony Romo's floor soon.

Jessica Simpson wears a bra as a top sometimes. Why not start her own line?

Asked about the exciting new underwear line, the eldest ho daughter of Joe Simpson said in an interview with Women's Wear Daily:

"I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that's the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood."

Simpson also promises to included a stylish assortment of shapewear so women no longer need to worry about panty lines.

One person who doesn't have to worry about those ever? Britney Spears. Now that's a girl who seriously abhors any sort of underwear.

You have to hand it to In Touch Weekly.

Citing a text message from J.R. Rotem, who clearly sent no such text, as evidence that Britney Spears is pregnant was the mag's finest hour.

This is a close second.

We'd love to know what "facts" the celebrity news magazine is using in its new cover story - that Tony Romo is betraying Jessica Simpson because he hasn't given up on his previous celebrity ex, Carrie Underwood!

Don't get us wrong, Tony Romo would get props from us if this were true.

After all, Carrie Underwood is the epitome of natural beauty - not to mention a down-home gal with a brain, a great voice, and a lack of insane parents.

But we're not buying it.

For one, Joe Simpson has Tony Romo under constant surveillance, making a secret rendezvous a logistical impossibility. Second, why would Carrie take him back, after he broke up with her to focus on football, then took up with Jessica?

He's even worse than we thought! Us Weekly reports that Jessica Simpson's pimp father, Joe Simpson, brought her relationship with Tony Romo to the brink.

That we pretty much knew going in. But according to the story, Joe's actions specifically were the main source behind their split in May.

Joe Simpson asked Tony Romo to drop his agent - so he could personally take over his NFL career and $67.5 million contract with Dallas.

He even offered to "sell" his engagement and wedding to a celebrity gossip magazine should Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson get engaged.

As tension grew, the Cowboys quarterback gave the alleged singer and actress an ultimatum: Tell dad to back the hell off!

When asked for comment, Joe Simpson defended himself, saying "It's unfair to criticize me for what every manager does for his or her clients."

"In this business, where people can quickly turn on you, who better than a parent to be working for his children?"

For now, Romo and Simpson are back on, in "a talking stage." Adds the source of their relationship, "it's in a middle-of-the-road state."

Despite all the breakup talk, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are back together, but a college friend of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback says Romo's insisting on calling the plays from now on.

"He did agree to go to [sister Ashlee's] wedding - keeping his promise to Jessica," Romo's Eastern Illinois alum pal told the Chicago Sun-Times.

"But he made it super-clear that if they were to give it another go, her dad, Joe, had to seriously back off."

Joe Simpson, a former minister and current pimp, has long been seen as an overbearing presence, managing both his daughters' careers.

While clearly successful at what he does - look at how much money he's made off two airheads with no talent - Joe Simpson has earned a reputation as a guy who's, um, extremely difficult to work with.

The Sun-Times says Tony Romo told Jessica Simpson that their renewed relationship is on a trial basis, so long as Joe "leaves them alone" and stops telling Romo how to run his life, career and endorsement deals.

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson have been seen together in recent days, after the solo vacation Jessica took in Cabo San Lucas following the pregnant, talentless Ashlee Simpson's marriage to Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz.

Looks like Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have smoothed out their recent rough patch... or he's at least on the take and back in the picture.

After a brief split, the pair reunited in Dallas for Memorial Day weekend, sharing a corner booth at N9Ne steakhouse on Saturday night.

According to TMZ, when People Magazine cut a $1.4 million deal for Ashlee Simpson wedding pics, there was one additional requirement - that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo would be there at the event.

It all makes sense now.

Who would pay that for just Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz? No one we know. And why would Joe Simpson care so much that Tony Romo attended, begging him personally to come and "support the family" at the last minute?

Support them financially is what he meant. Why are we not surprised?

Of course, Jessica and Tony broke up just before the wedding. Getting the idea why he still showed now? Jared Leto ain't gonna sell celeb news magazines!
