Following that pattern, take note fans: Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey, who quietly started dating at the end of last year, are not getting hitched any time soon.
"We're happy with the way things are," the 1994 Playboy Playmate of the Year tells TV's Extra. "We have no plans to get married."
The couple recently returned from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding in Rome (did everyone hear? Those two kids got married!): "I was very happy to be there with him," McCarthy, 34, said of her Italian trip with Carrey, 44.

The quirky duo has been dating for about eight months now and McCarthy is finally ready to open up about the relationship. You might say she no longer wants to mask her feelings for Carrey. (Hello? Is this thing on?)
"Our dynamic is great. I'm very, very happy. It's a lot of laughing," the actress told People magazine at the celebration for the 40th anniversary of Caesars Palace Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Don't listen too closely for wedding bells, however. McCarthy has been spending a lot of time with Carrey, but they won't be stopping at any chapels in the near future.
"No, there is no marriage on my mind â" at all," McCarthy said.

Over the weekend of July 28, the couple stayed at the $25,000-a-night Sky Villa in Sin City's Palms Casino Resort. During their three-day getaway, McCarthy and Carrey enjoyed in-room massages and hit the high-roller lounge for some blackjack.

The couple was recently seen taking a romantic helicopter ride to a Radiohead concert date night, holding hands and rocking the night away.
According to a fellow concert attendee, the pair "were having so much fun ... it was like you were watching a romantic comedy."

Of course, neither side is as open about the rumored relationship. McCarthy and Carrey - McCarrey? - were spotted at an L.A. restaurant last month, but still won't go public with their affections.
When McCarthy, 33, was asked recently on The View if she was dating a "well-known comedian who makes funny faces," she replied, "No comment. Does that ever work?"
No, Jen, it does not. For his part Carrey said the following about McCarthy last year: "I like her, she's a nice person."
Rumors about whether he snickered and added "in bed!" have not been confirmed.
