These days, the television landscape is populated by so many quirky families engaging in wacky, "unscripted" behavior than when we look back on a show like The Osbournes, it's hard to understand why it was such a cultural phenomenon.

But while the MTV series that focused on Ozzy and his then unknown wife and children certainly wasn't the first reality show, it was the first to encourage us to root for hot-tempered, entitled egomaniacs who we'd probably hate in real life.

Without the Osbournes, we may have never had Jersey Shore or even (gasp!) Keeping Up With the Kardashians!

So perhaps it's out of respect for the show's legacy (or in hopes of recreating its then-record breaking ratings) that VH1 has decided to bring The Osbournes back to television.

Of course, things have changed a bit since the show went first went of the air in 2005:

Jack Osbourne has started a petition urging Rolling Stone to donate all of its profits from the new issue featuring a Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover story.

The magazine ignited national outcry when it unveiled its August cover, humanizing the man allegedly behind the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Seeing Dzhokhar Tsarnaev a la Jim Morrison or Bob Dylan on the cover sparked more than a few boycott efforts, but Jack came up with an alternative.

His petition on encourages Rolling Stone to donate all profits, retail and ad-based, from the current edition’s sale to the bombing victims.

“Glamorizing a suspected terrorist on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine is not controversial, it’s just wrong," the son of Ozzy and Sharon writes.

NBC has responded to Sharon Osbourne's accusation that it discriminated against her son Jack.

The America's Got Talent judge announced her resignation from that program this week, saying she simply couldn't work any longer for a network that fired Jack from Stars Earn Stripes because he has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Jack Osbourne's MS diagnosis is the subject of People's new cover story.

In the magazine, he says he knew something was wrong last month.

His vision began failing, he says. "I couldn't see anything in front of me," Osbourne, 26, recalls, explaining that when he sought medical help for that problem, he received a shocking diagnosis - he suffers from multiple sclerosis.

MS was to blame for his vision loss - 80 percent in his right eye - Jack says. He's now beginning medication and adopting a healthier diet regimen to help reduce various symptoms of the disease, which attacks the central nervous system.

It can affect vision, movement and cognition, but luckily, his vision has already improved. "It's just one of those things you take as it comes," says Jack.

"It's all about your outlook."

His mom, Sharon Osbourne, opened up in an emotional interview as well, saying: "The first thing Ozzy and I asked ourselves was, 'What did we do wrong?'"

Nothing, but they're doing all the right things in standing by their son during a difficult time ... not that we'd expect anything less. Be well, Jack!

Jack Osbourne was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, the 26-year-old reality star himself confirmed in a surprising revelation this weekend.

Just two weeks after he and fiancée Lisa Stelly welcomed daughter Pearl Clementine, Jack was dealt the shocking news, he revealed to People

Difficult as it is, he's opening up about the emotional ordeal.

"I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, 'Why now?'" Jack says. "I've got a family and that's what's supposed to be the most important thing."

Multiple sclerosis, often abbreviated as MS, is a disease that affects the central nervous system - the brain and spinal cord - and can cause problems with muscle control and strength, vision, balance, feeling, and thinking.

MS differs in each case, with some people going through life with only minor problems and others becoming seriously disabled by the condition.

Most people fall somewhere between those two extremes.

Hopefully in this case it's the former. We wish Jack Osbourne nothing but the best as he takes on this unexpected and formidable obstacle.

She missed out on this interview, but sister Kelly Osbourne is obviously a fan of the couple. She's been taking to Twitter to silence her critics already.

Stelly's certainly joining a close-knit family.

"@shabooty shut your f--king mouth!" Kelly told one hater who wrote: "What an idiot, you're not supposed to knock up your model girlfriend :P."

The love is mutual: "Just spent the last hour on the phone with @MissKellyO ... she will be the best sister-in-law ever!

The child will be Jack's first, and the fifth grandchild for Ozzy, but the first for Sharon. Oz's son and daughter from his first marriage each have two kids.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
