Jack Nicholson is reportedly retiring from acting due to memory loss, insiders claim, though he has made no official announcement confirming this.
The Oscar-winning actor, 76, has quietly stepped away from the movie business. Says an alleged Nicholson source: "Jack has - without fanfare - retired."
"There is a simple reason behind his decision - it’s memory loss," the source says.
"Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has short-term memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him. His memory isn’t what it used to be."
He is said to have recently turned down the role of an aging alcoholic father in the upcoming film Nebraska that went instead fo Bruce Dern, 77.
The actor has not appeared in a movie since 2010's How Do You Know.
