He's made a living playing make-believe and he's trying to sell a book.

Therefore, it's only natural to question the validity of Hulk Hogan's recent claims: that he had his hand on the trigger and was thisclose to committing suicide soon after his divorce from Linda.

"I actually believed in my heart that oath you make, 'til death do us part, for better or worse," he told E!'s Daily 10 this week. "I actually believed everybody was on that page. It blew my mind, never been hit that hard."

While his ex-wife has called BS on his tale, Hulk swears he "emotionally lost it" a few months ago, had a gun in his hand and was saved by a phone call from American Gladiators cohost Laila Ali.

"She goes, 'You left, you were so depressed. Are you OK? We haven't heard from you.' She kept saying that we love you and we love you and come back, come to church with us and that kind of snapped me out of it," the wrestler said.

He added that it's been difficult to tell his children to love their mother no matter what, considering she's dating a 20-year old former classmate of theirs.

Hogan spoke on his troubling thoughts while promoting the memoir My Life Outside the Ring. He has to understand that the result will be fans wondering if his stories are as real as his body slams.

Hulk Hogan made a name for himself in the contrived world of professional living.

According to ex-wife Linda Hogan, the same sort of fiction can be applied to his upcoming autobiography, My Life Outside The Ring.

In the book, Hulk writes he was very close to suicide, while also laying into his former flame, referring to Linda as an "abusive alcoholic."

“As far as what he has said about Linda, it’s not accurate about her being involved with heavy alcohol and being abusive, and trying to hit Nick with a wine bottle? Absolutely false. It’s disappointing and it is irritating," said Linda's rep, adding:

"We disagree and wish he would have stuck to the facts instead of sensationalism to sell his book. It does reheat a lot of stuff, but it makes her feel all the more happy that she’s divorced and away from him. He’s [girlfriend Jennifer McDaniel's] problem now."

What about Linda's relationship with daughter Brooke Hogan?

It's reportedly made Lindsay and Michael Lohan seem like close relatives.

“They’re very good," said the rep. "Brooke has been spending a lot of time with Linda in California. It’s been a great revolution that they are back together, mother and daughter, very close, and in fact, she talked to Brooke today at least once or twice."

No word on how many times Linda mocked Brooke's fake boobs on those calls, but, hey, at least they're chatting!

There was Xanax. There was rum. And there was Hulk Hogan's finger on the trigger of a gun.

But the former pro wrestler says a surprise phone call in December 2007 caused him to reconsider suicide.

In his upcoming book, "My Life Outside the Ring," Hogan details this horrific evening - which supposedly started at a strip club - and writes that Laila Ali (who co-hosted the updated version of American Gladiators with Hulk at the time) saved his life with a lucky, opportunistic call just seconds before he might have ended it.

What had pushed Hogan so close to the edge? The actions of his wife of 23 years, he writes.

"Hell, [Linda's] spending time with a 19-year-old boyfriend - in the house that I pay for," wrote Hogan of his ex's affair with Charlie Hill.

In the memoir, which will be released on October 27, Hogan also alleges that Linda is an alcoholic that threatned to beat son Nick with a wine bottle after his major car accident in August 2007.

Hulk claims a civil suit brought against him by the family of Nick's passenger - who is now permanently brain-damaged - is "for more money than I've made in my whole career."

Hmmm... no way that would prompt him to exaggerate stories in an autobiography, right?

We're not saying the man isn't troubled (just look at his family!), but it's hard not to raise an eyebrow when he details a last-second reprieve from suicide in a book that's going on sale while he's having financial problems. Just sayin.

Hulk Hogan and Linda Hogan are officially divorced.

"We've reached a marital settlement agreement," Linda's attorney told a Florida judge this morning, while Linda herself later added: "The war is over."

The war in question has included Linda fearing that Hulk might murder her; Linda dating a 19-year old loser that went to high school with her children; and Linda calling out daughter Brooke on her fake boobs.

Indeed, it's been quite the journey for the Hogans.

Earlier today, it sounded like Hogan just wanted his relationship with his ex to be forgotten about. He told The Tampa Tribune: "When you're married to someone for 23 years ... you hope for the best .... We just got torn apart."

Call us crazy, but we doubt the former wrestler will shed any Joe Jonas-like tears over the break-up.

This is what makes Distinguish the Girlfriend from the Daughter! such a challenging contest to play. Hogan's decision to date Jennifer McDaniel, a woman that so closely resembles his daughter, shows how shred of a competitor he can be.

Forget totally understanding O.J. Simpson, it looks like Hulk totally understands the incestuous lifestyle.

We're happy Brooke Hogan can drink legally now and all, but here's a thought:

When your son has been jailed for reckless driving, after sending a friend to the hospital; when a reality TV show has contributed to your divorce; and when you're wife is dating a 19-year old and demanding ridiculous amounts of money, perhaps such a public celebration for your daughter - in Las Vegas, no less - isn't the best idea.

Well, at least the shadiest Hulk Hogan-related story going forward won't be the resemblance of his girlfriend to his daughter.

In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, the former WWE star berates ex-wife Linda Bollea for leaving him for Charlie Hill, aka "some shaggy-haired pool boy 30 years her junior."

It's an understandable reaction from the Hulkster. Not as understandable? How far he takes it.

"I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like OJ, cutting everybody's throat," Hogan told the magazine, explaining his frustration with the entire situation by drawing a parallel to the murderous former running back:

"You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater [Florida] and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife... I totally understand OJ. I get it."

We know this isn't exactly breaking news, but photos from the other day make it necessary to bring it up again. Hulk Hogan has some serious issues.

The Hulk and his girlfriend, Jennifer McDaniel, showed up at Calle Ocho 2009 to support his daughter Brooke Hogan, who was working the stripper pole, er, performing at the Miami music festival. It was a concert for the ages.

The odd thing - aside from people paying money to listen to Brooke Hogan - was Jennifer choosing to style herself exactly like her boyfriend's daughter.

Brooke Hogan and Jennifer McDaniel are essentially identical twins, separated only by botox, booty shorts and tramp stamps. But that isn't their fault.

One has to wonder about a guy who seeks to get in the pants of chicks half is age AND who could be confused with his own daughter. Just sayin'.

We really hope Jennifer McDaniel doesn't scream out "Oh, Daddy!" during sex with Hulk Hogan.

Considering how similar she looks to the former wrestler's daughter, such an orgasmic declaration might really throw off his performance.

In the picture below, Hulk holds girlfriend McDaniel in his arms, while Brooke Hogan stands nearby. Or is it the other way around? It's hard to tell.

Of all the opponents Hulk Hogan has squared off against over the years, he says ex-wife Linda Hogan is the most challenging.

“Without a doubt, this one is the most formidable opponent I’ve ever run into," Hulk told Us Weekly. "You talk about dirty tricks: Brass knuckles, steel knuckles, cheap shots, tripping people up. I’ve never seen anybody in the wrestling business that has more dirty tricks than she does!"

After 23 years of marriage, Linda filed for divorce from Hogan a few months ago.

Since then, she's been spotted dating a 19-year old former classmate of daughter Brooke Hogan, while he's been spotted dating a Brooke look-alike, Jennifer McDaniel.

It's pretty much status quo for any family that appeared on a reality TV show.

Any any loyal fan of the WWE knows, Hulk Hogan is the owner of 22-inch pythons (i.e. biceps) that can inflict some serious damage.

Based on a motion ex-wife Linda Hogan filed this week, it sounds as though she's certainly aware of how dangerous the former wrestler can be.

Linda is claiming she's in "constant fear of her life" because Hulk sits outside their properties and "relentlessly and methodically follows her."

In audio clips obtained by TMZ, Hulk responded to such accusations on Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show yesterday. Listen to the tape now - and then take pity on children Nick and Brooke Hogan.
