Dina Lohan Blames Lindsay's Downfall on Heath Ledger Dying

In the latest leaked phone tape involving the insane Lohan family, Lindsay's awful mom Dina says Lindsay was dating Heath Ledger when he died in January 2008.

His death devastated her, according to Dina. This was among the more explosive revelations in the leaked phone conversation between Dina and Michael Lohan.

"She was dating Heath when he died," Dina reveals. "I don't know if you know that, but I know 'cause I would drop her off. They were friends. Very, very close, OK?"

She said that the actor's death "really f----d her up."

For what it's worth, it's unclear what the extent of the celebs' relationship was, but Lindsay Lohan and Heath Ledger were romantically linked in December 2007.

Dina feared for Lindsay's life, too: "Because when she's drunk or takes an Adderall with it she will do something like Heath did in a second without thinking."

Were Lindsay in Heath really in a relationship?

In the 2008 call, Dina discusses how desperate the situation was for her daughter. "She cannot be alone," Dina tells Michael. "When she sleeps here she sleeps with me... she has fears from being little and what you did to us."

Dina also defends Lindsay's former assistant Jenni Muro, who yesterday threatened legal action against Michael, telling him that Muro was going to save Lindsay.

Lindsay's mother was also worried about her relationship with Samantha Ronson, telling Michael she thought Lindsay should walk away, but it wasn't that easy.

"It's [not that easy] for an irrational person who has a problem with her DNA and alcohol and Adderall and asthma and every other things she's got wrong with her."

So true. Click to listen to Dina's phone call to Michael ...

Heath Ledger Investigation Dropped By DEA

The investigation into Heath Ledger's death is officially case closed - the high-profile probe was closed abruptly without no charges being filed.

Mary-Kate Olsen had just been subpoenaed by a federal grand jury, but her attorney had been in negotiations with federal authorities since.

The actress was expected to be a part of a DEA investigation into Ledger's death earlier this year - after Ledger's masseuse found his dead body, she used the star's cell phone to dial MK three times before hitting up 911.

But with the case officially closed, Olsen's now off the hook. She must be so relieved. She'll probably start eating regularly now. Oh wait ...

On a related note, sources connected with the Heath Ledger investigation say the Drug Enforcement Administration set a new low with its conduct.

How's this for starters ... no one connected with the case can point to a single other DEA case where a massive investigation was launched over an accidental death in which no criminality was evident - or even hinted at.

Mark-Kate Olsen Stonewalls FBI's Heath Ledger Inquiries

Anorexic actress Mary-Kate Olsen has refused to be interviewed by the FBI, which is probing the accidental drug death of her close friend Heath Ledger unless she receives immunity from prosecution, reports say.

According to the New York Post, the actress' lawyer has repeatedly rebuffed attempts by the feds to question Olsen - the first person called after her masseuse discovered Heath Ledger's lifeless body in his SoHo apartment.

Frustrated officials may go so far as to obtain a grand-jury subpoena to compel the fashion-challenged actress to talk about The Dark Knight star's behavior, his alleged drug use and the events of that fateful morning in January.

Officials have been interviewing everyone connected to Heath Ledger and his death, including doctors, the masseuse, bodyguards, maids, business associates and even the mother of his 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, Michelle Williams.

"Ms. Williams was extremely nice and cooperative," a source said. "In fact, everyone has been very eager to help, saying what a great guy Heath Ledger was, everyone except Mary-Kate Olsen, who has refused to speak."

Shady Details of Heath Ledger Drug Video Emerge

A lawsuit filed Friday alleges that two celebrity news photographers set up Heath Ledger, who died of a lethal combination of drugs this winter, at a 2006 SAG after party, plying him with cocaine, then secretly videotaping him.

In the suit, the plaintiff, Jane Doe (a pseudonym), who was working as a freelance reporter for People magazine at the time, and recounts events that she says took place at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.

She alleges that she and her boyfriend at the time, Darren Banks, one of the pair of photographers for celebrity photo agency Splash News named in the lawsuit, met Heath Ledger on the grounds of the hotel.

Her story is that Banks brought him, along with Splash photographer Eric Munn, to a room Doe booked for the evening assignment. Munn gave Ledger cocaine and the actor already had some of his own. Munn then left the room.

From the balcony, Munn secretly recorded everything. Doe claims she didn't know that she was starring in a celebrity video at the time. Once Ledger saw a camera, he demanded the tape be destroyed and the photographers agreed.

However, after his death, the tape somehow sold to Entertainment Tonight for $200,000. Entertainment Tonight and The Insider were hit with a storm of criticism after promoting their video exclusive about Heath's drug use.

The shows ultimately did not air the segment and issued an apology. This is one of several rumors that have followed Ledger's passing and cast a pall over the actor's legacy. He is also rumored to have fathered a second child out of wedlock.

Heath Ledger died January 22 alone in his New York apartment. He would have turned 29 this April 4, the same birthday as Jamie Lynn Spears.

The handsome, talented actor will be starring, posthumously, in his final movie role in The Dark Knight, scheduled for a July 2008 release.

Did Heath Ledger Leave Behind a Second Child?

The family of Heath Ledger believes that the late actor may have fathered a secret love child, according to Australia's Daily Telegraph.

Ledger was a 17-year-old when he had an affair with an older woman who is thought to have discovered she was pregnant after the relationship ended.

The woman was living with another man at the time of the alleged affair.

Yesterday, Heath Ledger's uncle, Hadyn Ledger, told the newspaper: "There is a very real possibility that Heath was the father."

If it is confirmed that Ledger is indeed the girl's biological father, it could split his estate between his two-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, whose mother is Hollywood actress Michelle Williams, and his secret love child.

Heath Ledger Love Child?

Heath Ledger, who will star, posthumously, in The Dark Knight, died alone in January in his N.Y. apartment from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

The Brokeback Mountain star drew up his will prior to his mysterious death, obviously, and long before the birth of Matilda, on whom Heath doted.

The April 2003 will created by the actor lists only $145,000 in assets and names the late actor's father, Kim Ledger, mother Sally Bell, sister Kate Ledger and half sisters Olivia Ledger and Ashleigh Bell as the only beneficiaries.

The New York documents following his death also acknowledge Matilda Rose, as Heath Ledger's only known child, as an interested party.

DEA Begins Probe Into Heath Ledger's Death

The Drug Enforcement Administration has launched an investigation into how Heath Ledger got the prescription drugs that caused his death.

DEA officials have requested copies of Ledger's autopsy, as well as the original police report, according to numerous news sources.

"It's an ongoing investigation by the NYPD and, as always, we're standing by to assist other investigations," said Steve Robertson, a special agent with the DEA.

According to the New York Medical Examiner's autopsy results released Wednesday, Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

Heath Ledger (1979-2008) passed away January 22.

Six types of drugs were found in Heath Ledger's apartment:

  • Oxycodone, a painkiller marketed as OxyContin
  • Diazepam and alprazolam, names for anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax
  • Hydrocodone, used in a number of painkillers, including Vicodin
  • Temazepam and doxylamine, sleep aids

"We're trying to educate that legal drugs - these prescription drugs - can be just as dangerous as more 'hardcore' drugs if misused or abused," Robertson said.

"It's sad to say, but this is a perfect example of how even the so-called ‘safe drugs' can cost somebody their life."

An alleged drug video of Ledger taking and/or discussing substances turned up online in recent days but public outcry stopped TV shows from airing it.

Combination of Drugs Proved Lethal For Heath Ledger

The N.Y. Medical Examiner's report on the cause of Heath Ledger's death has been released. No medications were taken in excess, but a combination of the prescribed drugs Heath was taking appears to have resulted in his tragic death.

Officially, the 28-year-old Australian "died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," according to the examiner's autopsy findings.

The late actor's father, Kim Ledger, issued the following statement:

We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching, and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today's results put an end to speculation, but our son's beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts.

While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. We hope Heath Ledger's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.

Farewell to a Star

Heath Ledger (1979-2008) passed away January 22.

Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend.

We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle Williams) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

At this moment we respectfully request the worldwide media allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography.

Michelle Williams Speaks on Death of Heath Ledger

Michelle Williams has spoken out publicly for the first time since her ex-fiance, Heath Ledger, tragically passed away in his apartment January 22.

Williams and Ledger co-starred in Brokeback Mountain (2005), which is how they met. They have a daughter named Matilda Rose. The entire industry is mourning Ledger, but Michelle is taking Heath's (still unexplained) death hardest of all.

Michelle Williams, Matilda

Michelle Williams, 27, issued the following statement ...

"Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I continue to watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him."

So sweet, and so sad that Heath Ledger is gone.

Celebrity PR Blitz Gets Heath Ledger Drug Video Pulled

In a rare display of unity, Hollywood rallied to the side of Heath Ledger to protest the airing of a two-year-old tape showing the deceased actor at a drug-fueled hotel party that was yanked off U.S. airwaves.

Hollywood news shows Entertainment Tonight and The Insider had both planned to air the alleged Heath Ledger drug tape on Thursday.

After they had aired portions of the controversial video on the East Coast, the two celebrity news shows said Wednesday evening that they decided against playing the video "out of respect for Heath Ledger and his family."

The decision followed a PR campaign by Ledger's publicity firm, L.A.-based ID-PR, to rally Hollywood celebrities against the shows.

ID-PR sent an e-mail to PR companies, talent agencies, management firms and studio execs, questioning the "common decency" of the programs.

Heath Ledger Video

It seems to have worked, although celebrity gossip sites have speculated on and even shown portions of the alleged Heath Ledger drug tape in recent days.

The grainy video does not show Heath Ledger actually using drugs, but he admits to smoking marijuana in the past. The video was said to be taken in January 2006 at the Chateau Marmont hotel on Hollywood's Sunset Strip.

In the last two weeks, several magazines and celebrity gossip sites have claimed that Ledger, who was found dead January 22, went on drinking binges and used cocaine and other drugs. The cause of his death is still uncertain.

Two days ago, Us Weekly reported that Michelle Williams, Heath's ex-fiancee, left the actor partly to shield their baby daughter from his partying lifestyle.

Heath Ledger Drug Tape Sparks Controversy

A tape of Heath Ledger allegedly at a drug binge party at a Hollywood hotel has surfaced on the Internet and is causing controversy.

The footage is believed to have been shot two years ago at L.A. celebrity hangout Chateau Marmont at a January 29, 2006 party following the Screen Actors Guild awards. Ledger had been nominated for Brokeback Mountain.

Heath Ledger appeared at the ceremony alongside girlfriend Michelle Williams, but she did not attend the private party and was reportedly sleeping in a room upstairs with the couple's infant daughter, Matilda.

The apparent Heath Ledger drug tape, which was taken through a window into a hotel room, showed him talking and shows at least one guest sniffing a "cocaine-like" substance off a table with a rolled up bill in his hand.

Heath Ledger Drug Tape?

Heath Ledger's face is noticeably twitching as he says, "I'm gonna get so much sh*t from my girlfriend ... We have a baby three months ago. Matilda, Matilda Rose."

"I shouldn't be here at all."

At another point in the tape, Ledger talks about his marijuana habit, saying he "used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years."

The content of the drug tape is very sensitive given Ledger's tragic death in New York City on January 22, which remains unexplained at this time.

Emerging stories from various media outlets claim the 28-year-old Australian had been battling drug addiction problems and insomnia for years.

Entertainment Tonight
did not end up airing the drug tape on the air, but showed a lengthy promotional clip of it in the eastern half of the U.S.

The celebrity news show later said that it decided not to show the explosive footage out of respect for Heath Ledger's family.
