Lamar Odom is just living, man. The troubled athlete made this mantra abundantly clear during an impromptu chat with a photographer in L.A. yesterday.

Instead of brushing off the paparazzo who approached him, the 33-year-old mused for several minutes about his life, health, relationships and career.

Lamar at Lunch

You don't see this too often, especially with a guy like Lamar, who's not only the subject of some insane stories lately, but is not exactly chatty by nature.

The celebrity gossip reporter was actually prepared to leave 3-4 times, but Odom kept talking cordially. Over the course of almost four minutes, he discussed:

  • His relationship with Khloe Kardashian ... who he wouldn't elaborate on, but made a gesture to by making point of showing of his wedding ring.
  • His prospects of returning to the NBA. "You gotta take it day by day," he said. "That's all you can do. Does being alive beat the alternative?"

President Barack Obama stopped to help a pregnant woman on the verge of fainting during a speech he gave on health care in Washington, D.C., today.

Nearly 30 minutes into his speech, under the hot sun, a pregnant female supporter standing behind the Commander-in-Chief began to feel lightheaded.

Fortunately for the mom-to-be, Obama became aware of what was going on over his shoulder and turned around to lend Karmel Allison some support.

NOTE: This type of assistance is not covered under the Affordable Care Act.

"I gotcha, you're OK," Obama said as he put his arm out to steady her, and went on to joke, "No, no. You're OK. This happens when I talk too long."

Quickly afterward, a White House aide came to escort Allison off the stage as the President continued his speech, which came to end shortly thereafter.

"Fit Mom" Maria Kang is speaking out in defense of her "What's Your Excuse" photo that caused such a stir online, claiming she was just trying to inspire.

The 32-year-old mother of three revealed that she never intended to bully or shame others with her fitness photo shoot, but rather share a love of exercise.

Yet after posting this photo to her Facebook page, Maria became the target of online critics who called her a “bully” who was calling out other women:

Maria Kang was shocked when her Facebook page blew up with commenters calling her “selfish," a “fat shamer” and worse after the ad went viral.

“I did not know I was going to ruffle this many feathers,” Maria said. “I knew that not everyone was going to like the photo but I wanted to inspire others.”

“Obviously these three little boys are symbols of time. I’m able to keep them a priority. Of course it’s not always my first priority but it’s one of my priorities."

As Sisqo once sang, let me see that thong! Thong, thong, thong, thong, thong. Well, easy there. Not only is that a bad song, the item may be bad for you.

Sometimes they're too tight, sometimes they rub the wrong way and sometimes they just don't feel all that clean. Experts suggest that they are not.

Thongs aren't necessarily bad, says Jill M. Rabin, Professor or Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women's Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

"If somebody's healthy, there aren't really any dangers," she says, however, "The issue is if you have a predisposition to getting infections, either urinary or vaginal."

In that case, "it may be harder to get rid of it if you're wearing a thong."

What are the features of thongs that put you at risk for health issues?

We all know Oreos are addictive, but a new study suggests that the cookies are as addicting as actual drugs ... at least in the way the brain responds to them.

The “pleasure center” of the brain, the nucleus accumbens, apparently gets just as activated in response to Oreos as it does to cocaine and morphine.

That could certainly have some pretty major public health implications if Oreos were as damaging to one's system as the aforementioned narcotics.

They're not, of course, and the study was only done in rats. However, the Connecticut College authors say it’s likely relevant to humans as well.

It could explain, they say why people have such a hard time resisting eating an entire sleeve of the cookies after they've set out just to eat one.

Girls star and creator Lena Dunham wants Instagram to "get down with the nipple." In other words, quit censoring/blocking breastfeeding photos.

Breastfeeding Instagram

She kept friend and new mom Sarah Sophie Flicker's breast covered up with a tasteful daisy to abide by Instagram's no nudity rules, but not by choice.

Dunham made it clear that she didn't like having to do it.

"My @sarahsophief feeding the brand new Dusty. I made the flower crown and she added the flower censor. Wish she didn't have to cuz the nipple is dope," she wrote.

"Instagram, get down with the nipple."

An Illinois dad who discovered something repulsive - a Facebook spam page exploiting his sick daughter for Likes - responded in amazing fashion.

Sean Murphy took to the page, which is described as a "social content farm," and managed to raise money for the hospital that saved her life.

A picture he posted online that shows his little girl, Serafina, recovering from heart surgery, was used to bolster the advertising revenue of a page called Starteens.

Pretty awful. But the University of Illinois law student simply went on the page and asked readers to donate money to the hospital instead of "Liking" anything.

As a result, he raised thousands of dollars for the medical facility.

An indigenous woman gave birth on a Mexican hospital lawn earlier this month after being denied help inside the clinic in a story making global headlines.

Her newborn still bound by the umbilical cord and lying on the ground, the shocking image has horrified millions because of where and how it took place.

The woman had been refused help inside the medical clinic right before this occurred, which struck a nerve in a country where inequity is still pervasive.

The mother, Irma Lopez, 29, said she was turned away by a nurse who said that she was only eight months pregnant and "still not ready" to deliver.

The nurse told her to go outside and walk, and said a doctor could check her in the morning, Lopez said. But an hour and a half later, her water broke.

Lopez gave birth to a son while grabbing the wall of a house next to the clinic.
