Note to Alan Panettiere: If a judge has to tell you not to beat up your wife, it might be time to re-evaluate your life. Or lay off the booze.

An order of protection was issued today against the father of Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere, hereby ordering Alan not to "harass, strike, threaten, assault (sexually or otherwise), follow, stalk [or] molest" wife Lesley. That about covers it.

According to TMZ, Alan Panettiere was at court today on misdemeanor battery charges stemming from an alleged fight with his wife back in August.

He and Lesley both downplayed it at the time, but he was arrested.

The actual arraignment was postponed until December 11 and he will remain free on $50,000 bail. If convicted, Panettire could get a year in jail.

Bet you didn't think that this headline would be literally true. Well it is, which isn't to say that Hayden Panettiere isn't a sweet treat in a different sense.

In the clip, Alba hosts a faux infomercial selling "The Muzzler 2008." The actress also models the Silence of the Lambs-esque mask in print ads.

Alan Panettiere, the father of 19-year-old Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere, has been officially charged with misdemeanor battery, TMZ reports.

"Skip" was booked back in August on a charge of felony domestic violence after he allegedly hit wife Lesley in the face, leaving a visible bruise.

They were spotted arguing at a Hollywood charity benefit that night. Police were called to their W. Hollywood home at 3:15 a.m. after the incident.

Alan is due in court next month. He could get a year in jail if convicted. Still, both Alan and Lesley Panettiere have been downplaying the arrest.

"It was all a big misunderstanding," Alan recently told Extra.

Although a police report claims Alan struck Lesley three times, the couple insist “nothing actually happened. [We] love each other very much and want everyone to know that the matter was completely blown out of proportion.”

Hayden Panettiere and Demi Lovato are two popular young stars that make up the next generation of acting.

Each is very pretty.

Hayden Panettiere's father, Alan, was released from custody on $50,000 bail after being arrested for allegedly striking Hayden's mom (his wife).

Alan Panettiere, who goes by Skip, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Monday at the family's West Hollywood home and spent about 10 hours in custody.

He was booked on a charge of felony domestic violence following a fight with wife Lesley Vogel, a.k.a. Lesley Panettiere, police deputies said.

Sunday evening, the couple attended a Hollywood charity benefit for the Whaleman Foundation hosted by Hayden at trendy Beso restaurant.

The pair were seen arguing, which quickly led to violence.

A sheriff's spokesman says that Alan, who felt "disrespected," struck Lesley Vogel one or two times on the cheek causing bruising. Another sheriff's official says that alcohol abuse was "most likely" involved in the incident.

"When they were both about to leave, they had a heated argument outside the restaurant. They were doing a good amount of yelling," a witness said.

We feel terrible for Hayden - who has been acting since starring on As the World Turns as a small child - and younger brother Jansen. We hope they're both doing okay, and that this situation is resolved as best it can be.
