Some of our favorite celebrities stepped out in costume over the Halloween weekend.

Shocker of all shocks, but none of them donned blackface. Julianne Hough should probably read this before Thursday. Someone send this gallery to her people.

  • Naya Rivera Halloween
  • Chris Colfer Halloween

What is Naya Rivera? Or who? Doesn't matter. That girl is on fire.

And who knew Star Wars could be sexy? Thanks, Chris Colfer!

Julianne Hough donning blackface for Halloween? A bit controversial, we get it.

But as bad as an 87-year putting thoughts into our head of him railing his wife from behind?

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris got into the Halloween spirit last night, posting a photo to Instagram of their 2013 costumes:

Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke from that duo's racy performance at this summer's MTV Video Music Awards.

Hefner is rocking a black-and-white top akin to the one worn by Thicke during that performance, while Harris holds a foam finger and has her hair in knots. Expect the latter to be a very popular costume across the nation on Thursday night.

Crystal is also Twerking all up on her older husband's crotch, an image that we may never be able to erase from our minds.

This photo makes the controversial routine itself seem tame by comparison. Sort of.

For Julianne Hough, Orange is the New... Blackface.

The star turned some heads and stirred up some controversy last night when she attended a costume party in Beverly Hills dressed as the character Crazy Eyes from Orange is the New Black.

Julianne Hough Blackface

She put her hair in the signature style as this inmate, she wore prison garb - oh, and she painted her face a darker shade than usual because the actress behind Crazy Eyes is African-American Uzo Aduba.

As you might expect, the move has drawn a great deal of criticism online, with many aghast over the former Dancing with the Stars pro's use of blackface.

The "Anna Rexia" Halloween costume, which sparked controversy a couple of years ago when it was first unveiled, is back and more offensive than ever.

The costume, if the name didn't make this clear, is a play on anorexia nervosa, a serious eating disorder. This did not go over well in 2011, but has resurfaced.

Halloweenparty13 (dot) com is selling the "Anna Rexia" costume for $39.99, using the same contentious tagline: "You can never be too rich or too thin."

Featuring a glitter screen-print skeleton mini-dress, a choker neckband, measuring tape belt and an "Anna Rexia" badge, the outfit is begging for backlash.

Dreamgirls International, the costume manufacturer, said in an earlier statement: "We understand that some people will not find the dark humor funny."

A Wisconsin pug is channeling Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video in honor of Halloween, as evidenced by this great photo shared by his owner, McKenna.

Here's a helpful side-by-side comparison ...

  • Pug Dressed as Wrecking Ball
  • Miley Cyrus Nude, Wrecking Ball Style

McKenna's cousin, Karin Morrison (a.k.a. The Craftinomicon), posted DIY instructions on her blog for how to make this costume for your own pet:

  • 1 old Barbie doll
  • Polyester fiberfil
  • 1/2-1 yard dark grey fabric (depending on dog size)
  • Scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Length of chain
  • A dog that is fine with wearing awesome costumes

File this under Epic Win for McKenna and patient canine companion Tottie, then check out some of our other favorite "Wrecking Ball" parodies below ...

This Britney Spears Halloween-themed parody takes the singer's racy, frenetic new single "Work Bitch" and transforms it into "Work Witch." Get it?? So seasonal!

Check it out below and see what you think of the witchy takeoff ...

It’s going to be a busy few months for the pop superstar, who’s about to drop her new album and start a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Sin City.

The album hits shelves December 3. The Britney Spears Piece of Me Las Vegas extravaganza kicks off December 27, with ticket sales already very strong.

Let the lip-syncing begin ... hopefully. You better work, bitch.

A seven-year-old Seattle-area boy dressed up for Halloween as a different kind of superhero. He went as Dr. Jay Rubenstein, the doctor who saved his life.

Landon Browne turned up at Seattle Children's Hospital on Wednesday wearing a lab coat, stethoscope and surgical gloves to surprise Rubinstein.

"He worked on both my ears and he's a great surgeon," the little boy explained, saying that the doctor has helped give his life true meaning again.

Rubenstein performed two cochlear implant surgeries on Browne, and in turn the little boy has become an important part of the doctor's research.

"I'm pretty grateful to him for all the efforts he's made on our behalf, and for him to do this makes it clear that he feels the same way," Rubenstein said.

Fox costumes are all the rage this Halloween, selling at record numbers among U.S. retailers, and we have Ylvis' video for "The Fox" to thank for that.

There will no doubt be plenty of Breaking Bad homages, and girls with no self respect dressing up as Miley Cyrus Twerking, but the big seller is ... the fox.

Now if only someone could tell us ... What does the fox say?!

The bizarre, hilarious, impossible-to-turn-off video by the Norwegian duo Ylvis has amassed more than 100 million views on YouTube in a month.

As a result, Spirit Halloween, Buycostumes, and Amazon say that fox costumes are up sharply from last year and selling out in record quantities.

Makes sense. Bushy tails, furry attire and pointy ears make for a fitting getup anyway. Now it's even got a ridiculous, fun pop culture tie-in.

Like a perfect storm ...

Gaga took her mind off Hurricane Sandy at a Puerto Rico bash, Tweeting, "BEST COSTUME EVER ITS SO FUN. Princess High the Cannabis Queen!"

Chris Brown, a man already linked to violence and destruction on a regular basis, hit up Rihanna's Halloween party last night dressed as ... a stereotypical Islamic terrorist.

Here's the singer and his crew, Taliban style:
