In the upcoming season of Gossip Girl, Ed Westwick's infamous character, Chuck Bass, will be kissing someone other than Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester).

That's not a huge surprise for a character who was once given his own CW promo set to Britney Spears' song "Womanizer." The shocker is who he kisses.

It's actor Neal Bledsoe.

That's right, a guy.

According to insiders, Chuck's gay kiss happens in the sixth episode this fall after he meets Josh Ellis, New York University’s head of freshman affairs.

Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick as Gossip Girl's Blair and Chuck.

Josh is in charge of selecting an incoming NYU student to deliver the freshman class speech. Blair, who got together with Chuck at the end of last season, is wants that position so badly that she pimps out the Basshole to the gay guy in charge.

The catch? All we know right now is that, apparently 1. there is a catch, and 2. we won't believe what Chuck says to Blair following the same sex lip-lock.

FYI, Chuck was gay or at least bi-curious in the Gossip Girl books, so perhaps it was only a matter of time. Still, this comes out of nowhere for TV Chuck.

As if Gossip Girl weren't sexy and intriguing enough! What do you think will happen? Are you excited to see Chuck go gay or is it just a cheap stunt?

As advertised, Hilary Duff is coming to Gossip Girl in the teen drama's new season, and the singer-actress was spotted on the New York City set Monday afternoon.

The Duffster is set to play a famous film star named Olivia who ends up studying at NYU with some other characters (Dan, Blair, Vanessa, Georgina, Scott, etc).

Here's Hilary and her rumored love interest, Penn Badgley:

In other guest star news, Gossip Girl signed Tyra Banks to appear on the show this season, reportedly as a character in a faux movie starring Duff's character.

Is this a sign of the show getting more notoriety and credibility, or of jumping the shark? Should we see more of Blake Lively in low-cut tops instead?

What do you think, Gossip Girl fans?

Tyra Banks is coming to Gossip Girl this fall.

Little is known about the appearance by the Tyra Banks Show and America's Next Top Model host at this time, but she is said to be "putting on her acting shoes."

Awesome Tyra Banks Fashion

Does that means she'll be playing an actual part, rather than appearing as herself? If so, Gossip Girl is flirting pretty hard with stunt casting (and shark jumping).

Banks becomes the latest high-profile guest star to be announced for the hit show, which recently signed Hilary Duff for a multi-episode role as a college student.

Looks like Tyra is striving to annoy peeps on as many CW programs as possible. Here's hoping this part is a one-take roll with her barely visible in the background.

Is the Upper East Side ready for more star power? We'll find out as Hilary Duff is coming to Gossip Girl for a guest role this fall, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The actress-designer-pop singer will play Olivia Burke, a movie star (typecasting lives) who enrolls at NYU in search of the traditional college experience.

Lauren Conrad, Hilary Duff

Her character will room with the unpopular Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) at the college. Duff will debut in this season's fourth episode, slated to air October 5.

Gossip Girl producers spotted an opening in Duff's schedule after NBC passed on her comedy pilot Barely Legal. She was to play a lawyer in it, of course.

Attention Brittany Snow fans: Don't panic.

Despite reports that the Gossip Girl spinoff has been axed, the '80s series is not officially dead yet, according to a source close to the CW network.

Blake Lively Image

The CW programmers are still making their decisions, and that everything, including Snow and Krysten Ritter's new series, is under consideration.

Why wouldn't a Gossip Girl spinoff get an automatic pickup - especially with flashback teases set to air on Monday night's all-new Gossip Girl?

The problem for all of the CW pilots this year is that with Privileged likely to get a pickup, there are only three spots left in the CW's schedule for new shows.

The original Gossip Girl, along with 90210, Supernatural, Smallville, One Tree Hill and America's Next Top Model have all already been ordered for next year.

Throw in the new Melrose Place (which seems to be a virtual certainty), and you've got just two holes left to fill. The Beautiful Life (starring Mischa Barton) and the Vampire Diaries are also strong competition for the Gossip Girl spinoff.

So that's where it stands, and it probably doesn't look good. But when you consider the fact that big publicity comes with all things associated with Gossip Girl, which made stars of Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, you never know.

Despite barely scraping together three million viewers a week, Gossip Girl has become arguably the most talked-about, culturally relevant series on television.

It's also going to have about three million sets of parents up in arms and shaking their heads once this round of photos from Rolling Stone starts circulating.

BEST. SHOW. EVER. Does anything else need to be said?

Since only, like, BFFs would eat the same ice cream cone, suck each other's fingers and deep-throat Twizzlers, we assume co-stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester - occasionally rumored to be feuding - are totally cool with each other.

As are we, with them.

If you don't watch the show, and haven't been convinced to by the photo above, Rolling Stone calls the drama "not a conventional TV hit," "sharp and connected to modern life, references, music" and "sexily subversive." Case? Rested.

As the CW readies for a deluge of hate mail from parents of impressionable teens and 'tweens, click to enlarge more pics of the Gossip Girl cast in Rolling Stone ...

Guess which wildly overhyped CW show about the scandalous lives of Manhattan's young and elite is now supposedly getting the obligatory reality TV treatment?

Bravo is in production on a real-life Gossip Girl - a reality series about private school kids in N.Y. City. The folks behind Tim Gunn's Guide to Style will produce it.

A Leighton Meester Image

Comparisons have already been made to Laguna Beach, MTV's hit which spawned The Hills and starred Lauren Conrad and her beautiful party-crazed SoCal pals.

The series is scheduled to premiere later this year.

It's become a hit with younger viewers and is the subject of great online rumors and gossip. But is Gossip Girl something you'd want to watch on reality TV?

Major Gossip Girl spoiler alert: the show is entertaining because of its witty quotes and outlandish characters, and because it's so over the top and UNrealistic.

How could a reality show possibly compare? If you're looking for a boring "reality" show about (slightly older) rich kids living in New York, there's The City.
