He implied that Tom Cruise was gay. He made references to Robert Downey Jr. in rehab. He thanked God for making him an atheist.

At almost every opportunity during Sunday night's Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais went out of his way to subvert the atmosphere and people around him. But while the host says he has no regrets, Philip Berk has a different response.

Says the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who was lambasted as a senile man by Gervais during the ceremony: "He definitely crossed the line. Some of the things were totally unacceptable... Any of the references to individuals is certainly not something the Hollywood Foreign Press condones."

But many of them are things at which the public laughed. Watch Gervais in action and then vote: Did he go too far?

Michelle Williams, a best actress nominee for Blue Valentine at the Golden Globe Awards Sunday, appropriately attended the event in a Valentino gown.

Heidi Klum, meanwhile, walked the red carpet like the pro she is in a draped, striped halter dress and sexy red platform sandals – both by Marc Jacobs.

It was a big night for Boardwalk Empire at the Golden Globes, as star Steve Buscemi took home the award for Best Actor and the series won Best Drama.

In celebration, actress Paz de la Huerta - who portrays Lucy Danziger on the HBO hit - had a drink or two dozen at the event. She then tried to enter an after-party at the Chateau Marmont, only to be denied access.

For what reason? It may have had something to do with her inability to stand, as evidenced in the video below. Keep watching to see what happens when de la Huerta walks away from the doorman:

Ricky Gervais hosted the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards, creating a bit of a stir while doing so. But that wasn't unexpected.

Robert De Niro, conversely, is known as one of the quieter, more intense actors out there. That's why it made it so shocking when the icon accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award last night and went off on hot topics such as immigration and Megan Fox.

“I’m sorry more members of the foreign press aren’t with us tonight," he said. "But many were deported right before the show along with most of the waiters. And Javier Bardem."

Listen to the speech and decide: Was it funny or foul?

Looks like THG's Fashion Face-Off pitting Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson against each other is the only battle those two are engaging in.

Opening up to Al Roker of all people on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Sandy said explicitly that she and Ryan Reynolds are not an item.

She says she's happy to report to the women of America that "He's not my lovah, he's just an amazing friend. I don't get his lovin' after dark."

Wow, so Radar's story about her getaway with Ryan was false. SHOCKING.

As for what she likes most about the Jenny Packham dress she wore last night, she said, "I can walk in it ... I can sit in it." We love her ...

We matched up her on-screen and life partners, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt, against each other earlier. Now it's time to see how Saint Angie fares herself.

As statuesque, A-list beauties with glamorous style go, few can challenge Angelina Jolie. Anne Hathaway may be one of those precious few, however.

Which of these lovely ladies dressed best Sunday night, The Tourist star or Love and Other Drugs star? You can't go wrong either way. Vote below ...

Julianne Hough may be too hot for CMT, but she's just right as far as we can tell. Last night at the Golden Globe Awards, the dancer/singer looked stunning.

Country Strong / Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, who shows off her singing chops in Julianne's genre, was not to be outdone in a fabulous gown of her own.

Which of these two cuties do you think looked better last night? It could be close. Tell us by voting in THG's newest Golden Globe Fashion Face-Off below ...

Two beautiful singers. One red carpet.

Both Lea Michele and Carrie Underwood - gorgeous women whose voice helped them rise to fame on a Fox program - walked the red carpet of last night's Golden Globe Awards, each donning a long, flowing dress.

The former cried on multiple occasions during the ceremony, first when co-star Chris Colfer won and then when Glee was named Best Comedy/Musical. Will she shed tears of joy over a victory in this Fashion Face-Off? Only if you cast your vote in Lea's direction...

During an exchange with reporters last night, Tom Hanks said he could remember “when Ricky Gervais was a slightly chubby but very kind comedian.” Chimed in Tim Allen: “Neither of which he is now.”

Ouch.

Indeed, not every Golden Globe attendee enjoyed the host's routine at the ceremony, the first 10 minutes of which you can watch HERE and almost all of which included jabs at nominees, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and even religion at one point.

How did Gervais feel about his performance? After the event, he told The Los Angeles Times:

"I hope everyone took it well... I hope they can all take a bit of roasting from a nobody like me. Did I think twice about any of [the jokes]? No, I didn't. I'd say any of that to their faces, I'd walk up to them and say it. That's the test for me. And it's in good fun."

Natalie Portman vs. Mila Kunis. It's a rivalry that already played out on the big screen in Black Swan. Now it's time for a rematch, THG Fashion Face-Off style!

There's no telling who will prevail when these two go at it - and we don't mean go at it in the girl-on-girl action sense. Unfortunately. That would be way better.

We digress. It could be worse than examining their dueling Golden Globe Awards fashion statements from last night, right? Right. Vote on your favorite here:
