Dianna Agron Issues Apology for GQ Glee Photo Shoot

The Parents Television Council has compared them to pedophilia.

Katie Couric has said they don't "fit the Glee gestalt."

Now, cast member Dianna Agron has spoken out about the racy GQ photos that have created an uproar for her, stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith and the show in general.

In a blog entry, the actress says she is speaking only for herself and "in perpetuating the type of images that evoke these kind of emotions, I am sorry." She goes on to write:

PTC Compares Glee Photo Shoot to Pedophilia

Has Glee gone too wild?

Reader opinion seems split on whether not it was appropriate for cast members Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith to pose provocatively in the latest issue of GQ, as seen HERE and in the following spread.

Glee Goes Wild

But the Parents Television Council does not have mixed feelings on the pictorial. It released a harsh statement today that reads:

“It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on ‘Glee’ in this way. It borders on pedophilia. By authorizing this kind of near-pornographic display, the creators of the program have established their intentions on the show’s direction. And it isn’t good for families."

Agron and Michele are 24; Monteith is 28. Do you agree with this statement? Does it take it go overboard in its critique? Check out more photos and sound off in our poll below.

Glee Gets (Too?) Sexy for GQ

Glee airs at the family-friendly hour of 8 p.m. and aims for a young demographic of viewers.

But this isn't a show that shies away from sex-related topics, as two students on the series have lost their virginity in one night stand-like situations; while the term "scissoring" was actually mentioned on last week's episode.

Now, Glee cast members Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith have posed provocatively for GQ. Do these poses cross a line? You tell us...

As for the interview inside the magazine, we've posted the following excerpts.

Taylor Swift to Appear on Glee?

Glee hit a home run with its Madonna episode, but whiffed with its Britney Spears tribute.

Might the show try to break this tie with yet another installment dedicated to a pop singer?

Pretty Taylor

As she makes the media rounds in anticipation of her new album's October 25 release date, Taylor Swift was asked about the Fox hit by Zap2It. Making it unclear whether she would guest star or her songs would be used on the series, Swift replied:

"There have been conversations and when those happen with all these new opportunities, it usually comes down to scheduling. I'm a huge fan of the show, and I think it showcases music in a great way, so I would be really excited if anything were to happen there."

Did Glee Cross the Line?

Last week, the Parents' Television Council came down on Glee for implying that Britney Spears was any kind of role model.

We wonder if the group will have anything to say about this: on last night's episode of the Fox hit, a scene featured high school cheerleaders Brittany and Santana talking, smooching in bed... and referencing their experience with "scissoring!"

Glee is all about self-expression. But does it ever go too far?

Considering the hour at which the show airs, along with its popularity among teens, it's shocking this reference made it past network censors.

Britney Spears, Glee Torn a New One By Parents Television Council

Last month's Britney Spears Glee episode earned a show-record 13.3 million viewers and several spots on the Billboard charts. But the response wasn't all positive.

Some reviewers felt it was fluff from a series renowned for great writing on weighty topics (see this week's "Grilled Cheesus"). Others were just plain offended.

The Parents' Television Council deemed the "Britney/Brittany" episode the worst thing on TV that week, a "pandering tribute" to a "toxic teen role model." Ouch!

Britney Spears and Heather Morris

Some parents were not thrilled with Brittany or Britney.

Part of the PTC's beef was that more children are likely to watch Glee than other series, making the content more objectionable than that of all other programs.

On top of bashing the "skimpy outfits," the group calls the episode an "endorsement of narcotics abuse, public masturbation, and school-sanctioned burlesque."

The PTC also slammed the focus on Britney Spears personally.

Joey Fatone Pushes for NSYNC Episode of Glee

Following a disappointing episode dedicated to Britney Spears, let's hope the Glee producers stop taking suggestions from fans... and also from washed-up singers.

Joey Fatone told People this week that he'd love to see an installment of the Fox hit pay tribute to his former boy band, saying the show could go "so many ways" with songs from the NSYNC catalog.

"I saw the Britney Spears one and I thought it was kind of cool. I said, 'You know what? They should do an 'NSYNC one.' So I mentioned it on Twitter, and everyone is retweeting it and saying, 'That would be great!'"

Are they really, Joey? Fans might just be clamoring for the appearance of a specific former member of the group. Unless we're mistaken. Would you wanna see this boy band honored on the show?

Yes, hi, hi, hi!
No, bye, bye, bye!

Britney Spears: Scared of Glee Cast, All Strangers?

Britney Spears may not be quite on the level of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston when it comes to bogus tabloid reports, but she's not far behind.

Ever since the singer went legitimately insane in 2007, celebrity gossip sites have had a field day, so much so that her site has a "BS report" to call them out.

Picture of Hotness

We expect a rebuttal of this ASAP, but it's too funny not to share: The Enquirer says Britney was scared of the Glee cast ... and all strangers for that matter.

Is Britney Spears actually shy, even afraid of people?

The troubled singer supposedly snubbed the cast of Glee when she filmed her cameo for its Britney Spears episode because she has a weird phobia of strangers.

“They were starstruck, but Britney didn’t mix with them at all,” a source said. “She was isolated while on set, and the cast was forbidden to contact her directly.”

Sources say Britney’s dread of human contact stems from situations in which hordes of overzealous fans have swarmed her, which actually isn't that far-fetched.

Glee Britney Spears Episode: Official Review

If you love Glee and you love Britney Spears, you might have enjoyed the Fox series' tribute to the pop superstar last night. But you also might not have, since there was basically no plot, no attempt at storytelling and generally no point.

While the Britney covers were cool to a point, was this even TV? Or more of a mash-up of music videos, Spears imitations and the occasional, funny one-liner?

Brittany as Britney

Heather Morris (Brittany) as Britney on Glee.

There wasn't even original Glee music, the hallmark of the show, which fans know connects the material to the characters in a very personal way. Not Tuesday.

The numbers were chosen basically because there was a Facebook campaign for a Britney episode and the star's manager lobbied for it. Not exactly organic.

Don't get us wrong, there were plenty of good lines and some of the covers were actually pretty good. But you can't abandon all storytelling like this as a stunt.

Even its previous tribute episodes, in which the show paid homage to Madonna and Lady Gaga, helped advance the plot and actually felt like Glee. It's doable.

Lea Michele Pushes for Justin Bieber on Glee

Britney Spears makes a cameo tonight. Zac Efron wants to be next.

But is Glee saving its most hair-raising guest-starring role for later this season? Lea Michele sure hopes so.

Speaking to E! News at PETA's 30th anniversary gala this weekend, the actress was asked about Justin Bieber appearing on the Fox show and said:

LeaThe Biebs on the Stage

Might Glee viewers come down with a case of Bieber Fever?

"I don't know about Justin Bieber coming on the show, but he would be awesome."
