After weeks of rumors over whether or not the incomparable Britney Spears would actually appear personally on the Glee episode in her honor this fall, the pop icon confirmed it this week via a Twitter pic of herself and her assistant on the set.

Now, two additional Britney Spears pictures have emerged featuring the singer and a cast member of the Fox series! Check them out below - Britney's posing here with Heather Morris, who plays Brittany, fittingly, and creator Ryan Murphy:

Britney Spears will appear on the September 28 episode of Glee.

Along with the photo, in which she reenacts her famous pose with Madonna, the pop icon wrote: "All my GLEEKERS in the crowd, Grab a partner take it down."

Britney has called the experience a ton of fun and we can't wait to see the tribute to her music. We've already seen Lea Michele in "Baby One More Time" garb.

We think we speak for millions when we say her Glee appearance and the second season premiere of the show - September 21 - can't arrive quickly enough!

Britney Spears' manager's wish for her to appear on Glee is finally coming true, and she's got the Twitpic to prove it. The pop star Tweeted yesterday:

“What’s up GLEEKS? Having so much fun on set!! Can’t wait for you guys to see the episode!” Earlier in the day, before she wet on set, she Tweeted:

“About to do my first shot of the day for Glee tweeties! Here we gooooo!”

Apparently, the shoot was a success. Britney posted the following photo:

Glee will pay homage to the greatness of Britney this season.

The show’s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, recently explained why he decided to dedicate an entire episode to the iconic star. He spoke reverentially of Britney's influence:

“She is the most important female, other than Lady Gaga, of the last 10 years. We’re sort of doing an episode about not only her music, but about her public image.”

It wasn’t just Murphy who was all for the idea, either.

“All the kids on this show, many of them went into singing and dancing because of Britney Spears,” he said. “Also, at the heart of it, it’s a show designed to show off the skills of Heather Morris who plays Brittany.”

In a new interview, Lea Michele proves she has a very sexy side and, also, very good taste in men.

The actress rarely has a chance show off much of the former on Glee, as she portrays the straight-laced Rachel Berry. But she gets to be seductive and alluring in a shoot for celebrity hairdresser Mark Townsend’s official website.

Michele is also asked who she'd like to see guest star on her hit Fox show and replied with an answer we share: “Justin Timberlake would be the perfect Glee guest star: He sings, he dances, and he’s hilarious.”

Recent Glee spoilers hint that this may actually take place on the Super Bowl episode of the musical comedy. Commence fist-pumping, fans!

Britney Spears is booked for an appearance on Glee.

Might Justin Bieber follow in her (kinda trashy) footsteps?

In an interview with Access Hollywood this week, series creator Ryan Murphy was asked if he'd entertain the idea of Bieber on his Fox hit? The enthusiastic reply, according to TV Fanatic:

"I think he's so phenomenally talented and I think he's great. So, yes, if he was interested I would make that happen... the [cast sings] his stuff all day long. They sing 'Baby.'"

Pure Cuteness

In just its first season, Glee showcased big-name guest stars such as Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Idina Menzel and Molly Shannon. John Stamos and Carol Burnett have already signed on for season two appearances.

Do you think Bieber, who will make his TV debut on CSI this fall, is right for the show? Should he take Murphy up on the offer?

Despite previous reports that Britney Spears would not personally appear on the Glee tribute episode devoted to her, creator Ryan Murphy says she will!

Just last week, star Jane Lynch said that the episode was very much in the works, musically and plot-wise, but the pop singer herself would not appear.

So much for that.

On Ryan Seacrest's radio show today, Murphy said Brit is 100 percent "going to be on the episode," likely as a dental assistant to John Stamos' character.

"The Britney episode is so reverential about her and so kind and it's about her music and it's not about her personal life," Murphy revealed to Seacrest.

The girl on the right has shown her face many times from about 2005-present, but Britney Spears on the left will be the focal point of Glee's tribute episode.

"And I think, Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she's been through a lot. And I wanted to do something that just sort of says, you know what, 'thank you for who you are and what you have done.'"

Hopefully that includes a head-shaving, as rumored. Regardless, it should include a rendition of "Baby One More Time," as this Lea Michele pic shows.

As for the other tribute songs, which would you rather hear when the episode airs September 28 (the season premieres a week earlier)? Vote below:

The Britney Spears tribute episode on Glee is generating a lot of buzz, and equally as many rumors. For the moment, here's what we know about the episode:

  • Britney Spears herself will not appear.
  • The episode will be titled "Britney/Brittany."
  • The episode will feature six Spears songs.
  • It will reportedly feature a head shaving.
  • Heather Morris (Brittany) will do lead vocals.

Heather's not the only cast member getting in on the act, however. This photo of Lea Michelle as Britney on set suggests that Rachel will be featured in at least one Spears number ... "Baby One More Time" seems like a pretty good guess:

It's unclear when the Britney episode airs, but the magic unfolds when Season 2 of Glee debuts September 21. Which Britney song would you most want to hear?

The upcoming Britney Spears Glee tribute episode may have been the pop star’s management's own idea, but the singer herself will not be appearing in it.

“Britney’s not in it,” Jane Lynch told reporters today at her wax figure unveiling at Madame Tussaud’s in Hollywood, Calif. “It’s a tribute to her music.”

Even though Spears herself will be absent from the episode, Lynch promises that tales from entertainer’s real life will be tied into the show’s storyline.

One of our all-time favorite tales, in fact.

“It’s kind of [about] how Matt [Morrison]‘s character Mr. Schuster doesn’t see any value in her and the kids really do,” she says. “And at the end [of the episode], he comes around and he likes [her music] so much, he shaves his head.”

Great moments in celebrity gossip - and soon, Glee.

Who would have guessed Britney shaving her head would one day inspire an episode of a Fox comedy about a glee club. You can't make this stuff up.

On the subjects of Spears and Glee, her ex Justin Timberlake has been rumored to appear on the series also ... and also isn't likely to actually do so.

“I love him,” the show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy, who also wrote the screenplay for Eat, Pray, Love, told reporters last week at TCA. “But I think somebody just said, ‘Do you want him?’ And I think Lea [Michele] said, ‘He’s my favorite.’"

"Suddenly, he was on the show.”

Too bad he won't be in person ... but there's always room for some *NSync adaptions, are we right? Actually no, let's say bye, bye bye to that idea.

Sue Sylvester. I'm A Slave 4 U. It. Is. On.

Now that the long-rumored Britney Spears episode of Glee has been confirmed for next season, creator Ryan Murphy spilled a few details at Comic Con Sunday.

"We haven't started shooting yet," Murphy said. "We start shooting our new second season on Wednesday. All I can say is that we're doing six Britney songs."

Appropriately, Brittany (Heather Morris) will be the focus of the exciting episode. Hopefully it involves her losing her mind and walking out dressed like this ...

Off Her Meds

"I don't want to say what we're doing yet because it's not airing until September," she teased, "but we're paying tribute to her in a fun and unexpected way."

As for Matthew Morrison, who lambasted the idea of the Britney episode when it first leaked? He reportedly "refuses" to do Spears songs in the episode.

Will the pop singer herself make a cameo on the hit Fox show, which paid tribute to Lady Gaga and Madonna in wildly successful episodes last season?

Don't expect any big Glee spoilers ... yet.

"I can't say," Murphy said. "Isn't that terrible? That will launch 1,000 stories!"

That would-be Britney Spears-themed episode of Glee the singer's manager Tweeted about in a shameless attempt to cash in on the Fox series' buzz?

It's totally on!

We're as surprised as anyone, but the show's creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that he’s writing an episode dedicated to her.

More than 13.5 million people tuned in to a Madonna-inspired episode last April. Can a Britney-themed episode come close to that total? Probably.

Will it be any good? That's another story.

At the Bizzucks

GIMME MORE GLEE! Britney Spears' music is coming to the second season of the hit show. Hopefully the Glee cast all goes to Starbucks in honor of the pop princess.

Not everyone on the show, which was nominated for 19 Emmys, will be thrilled. Last May, Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Schuester, actually scoffed at the idea:

"I hope our show doesn't go along that route," he said.

We sort of hoped they wouldn't, too, but perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised. It just doesn't seem like she has the kind of catalog or musical style to fit the show.

Lady Gaga and Madonna have more vocal talent. Breathy moans, suggestive lyrics and auto-tuning might sell records, but how will they translate on the program?

What Britney song would make the best Glee cover?

Kristin Chenoweth is adorable.

Neil Patrick Harris is talented.

But Justin Timberlake would put all previous Glee guest stars to shame if the following rumors becoms a reality: sources say the singer is close to signing on for the role of Will Schuester's sibling on season two of this Fox smash.

"There is more than a little resemblance between Justin and Matthew Morrison... so the plan to bring Justin in for a cameo as his younger brother is a very popular idea. They are just trying to work it all out at the moment," says a network insider.

  • Matthew Morrison Pic

As you might expect, this idea is going over very well with those on the series.

"The cast members are very excited about the prospect of working with him - especially Lea Michele, so it has everybody's seal of approval. They just need to work it all out now. The idea is that he will be a substitute teacher and join the glee club for a week."

Cue screams of excitement in 3... 2... 1...
