Like so many women in her position, E! News host Giuliana Rancic can at least take comfort in the overwhelming support of her family, friends and colleagues.

News that Giuliana has breast cancer, revealed by Rancic herself on Today, has triggered an outpouring of support from fans - both famous and regular people.

Most significant of all is husband Bill Rancic, who Tweeted:

"Thank you for all your love and support today. G is reading all your messages. She will win this fight, I PROMISE, and be back better than ever."

E! released a statement of "love and support" to Giuliana and applauded her "for sharing her recent breast cancer diagnosis in the hope that it will encourage women everywhere to take necessary and preventative measures."

"Giuliana has chosen to talk about her breast cancer on E! News prior to her lumpectomy later this week," the statement said. "We are very grateful that thanks to early detection Giuliana is expected to have a swift and complete recovery."

The Style Network, which airs the awesome couple's reality show Giuliana & Bill, echoed E!'s sentiments with their own, similar statement:

Giuliana Rancic has cancer.

The E! personality had an announcement to make during a Monday appearance on Today, which we expected to be a joyous one: That she was pregnant at last.

That made the actual announcement all the more heartbreaking. "I have early stage breast cancer," the 37-year-old told Today host Ann Curry, adding that her doctor made the frightening discovery back in August as she was about to begin IVF.

Rancic explained that her doctor sternly insisted that she get a mammogram before going through with the third IVF treatment. That might have saved her life.

The star, who said she has no family history of breast cancer, "wasn't prepared to get a mammogram until I was 40 years old," she admitted.

"I never in my wildest dreams expected anything to be wrong."

When the hospital called a few days later to tell her the shocking news, Rancic says she was "sobbing... It was like the world just crashed around me."

Even Giuliana Rancic thinks LeAnn Rimes is too thin. Not a good sign.

The E! News personality, known for a slender figure herself, recently said she'd love to feed Rimes, saying "She lost a lot of weight from all the stress in her life. She seems a little thin right now and I think she looks great when she's a bit curvier."

Last night, LeAnn heard about Rancic's advice and was not happy.

Rimes Tweeted: "@GiulianaRancic hey, we should go to dinner sometime. You get criticized all the time for how small you are ... You can see just HOW MUCH I eat and maybe put a stop to this crazy 'shrinking' once and for all."

"Then we should workout together! Good luck with your restaurant!!!!"

LeAnn gets testy about her weight, as we know. One of her own fans soon found this out firsthand after she mixed it up with her on the subject.

Giuliana and Bill Rancic's infertility struggles have been a huge part of their reality show Giuliana & Bill. But the duo is taking a break from trying to conceive.

"[Having a baby is] always on my mind," Giuliana said, noting that she's turning over a new leaf. "But we're not actively trying. Right now is the year of fun."

"In the first episode, we're talking about it, and we heard bad news. Bill's like, 'You know what? Let's get back to who we are and have a year of fun.'"

The couple vowed to think positive and to enjoy "all of the things we couldn't do if we had a baby," like "traveling" and "drinking lots of wine."

While Rancic, E!'s resident celebrity fashion expert, admitted she felt "vulnerable" sharing her struggle, she also found it very rewarding.

"This guy came up to me, and he was like, 'Oh, I just want to thank you and your husband. You inspire my wife ... she's going through IVF, and we know we're not completely alone,' It's really nice [to inspire others]," she said.

"[And it's nice] that we can use our profiles to talk about it and make people feel better about themselves."
