In an incident that nearly made Anderson Cooper do the same thing on air, Gerard Depardieu urinated involuntarily this week aboard an airplane.

The French actor says he is "humiliated" by his public urination and has apologized, saying he has prostate issues and offered to help mop up.

The Depar-one occurred in the aisle, in case you missed it.

Following the incident, which occurred after Gerard could not hold it before takeoff, the aircraft taxied back to the terminal and he was removed.

In a statement on Depardieu's behalf to the French press, his traveling companion on that fateful flight, actor Edouard Baer, said this:

"Gerard was upset at this and offered to clean up the mess. He has prostate problems and it was very worrying and humiliating for him."

"He was also stone-cold sober. This is not the way he usually behaves."

Now that has THG - pun very much intended - very much relieved.

Gerard Depardieu may have grossed many people out when he urinated on an Air France flight this week, but the French actor cracked CNN host Anderson Cooper up.

Or, to be more specific, the numerous puns associated with Depardieu's ridiculous action led to an uncontrollable laughing fit from the anchor.

"Some unlucky cleaning crew had to deal with the Golden Globe-winning tinkle. All I can say is they should thank their lucky stars it wasn’t DepardTwo,” Anderson said... and then he lost it:

Stuck on an Air France flight yesterday, Gerard Depardieu reportedly gave new meaning to the term pissed off.

The French actor was on the runway in Paris, headed for Dublin, when he really had to use the bathroom, a witness tells TMZ. But the flight attendance told the former Green Card star he'd have to wait 15 minutes until the flight was safely in the air.

In response? He unzipped and urinated all over the aisle.

The plane was forced to return the gate, as the crew needed two hours to clean up the actor's mess. Depardieu may face charges for the act.

No word yet from his rep, or from the passengers in the vicinity of his steam.
