Gavin DeGraw, who had found himself in the bottom two every week but one, seemed resigned to his fate on Tuesday's Dancing With the Stars results show.

He singer predicted Monday that "Tomorrow we will be in the duel," referring to the new twist in which the bottom two engage in a "dance duel" for survival.

The judges then decide who will be eliminated, giving the show some wiggle room to retain cast members it prefers. In last night's case, it was unanimous.

Len, Bruno and Carrie Ann all chose to spare Jaleel White over Gavin after the two did a cha-cha, and DeGraw was hardly complaining about their decision.

"Jaleel's more talented than I am," a good-natured Gavin noted before they faced off, anticipating the result. Smiling in defeat, he said: "It's been amazing."

"My family got to have a great time. We reunited in a lot of ways," he added, noting that he was grateful just to be a part of the ABC hit's 14th season.

Now that's a classy exit after a five-week run. Gotta hand it to him for lasting that long. With the DWTS field now down to eight, who do you think will win?

Unlike the ousters of Jack Wagner and Sherri Shepherd, the fourth elimination on Dancing With the Stars was not a decision that will leave heads scratched.

Just as things looked up last week for Karina Smirnoff and partner Gavin DeGraw, they once again sunk to the bottom Monday night after a 19-point samba.

The second lowest DWTS scores went to Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Melissa Gilbert, with 21, with Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus posting just 22.

Which of these tandems comprised the dreaded bottom two?

Melissa and Maksim and Gladys and Tristan were among the first to be declared safe. Gavin and Karina faced off with Jaleel White and Kym Johnson.

Dancing for survival, the judges made their final call based purely on the quality of the performances as both couples did the cha cha side by side.

And that call was a fairly easy one. Their decision was unanimous: the judges saved Jaleel and Kym, bringing Gavin's run on DWTS to a close.

"It's amazing just being part of the show," an upbeat DeGraw gushed. "Just knowing Karina Smirnoff, of course, having a great mentor. And getting to reach out and know all these amazing people who are a part of this show."

Jaleel and Kym will be back next week to compete in the top eight. You tell us: With Gavin out, who will win Dancing With the Stars?

Jack Wagner, Sherri Shepherd, Maria Menounos, Gavin DeGraw and Melissa Gilbert will all be among those competing on Dancing With the Stars March 19.

A pair of sports stars - Green Bay Packers wideout Donald Driver and tennis legend Martina Navratilova - will also be lacing up their dancing shoes.

Perhaps more importantly, Maksim Chmerkovskiy says he'll be back!

DeGraw is up for some serious double duty, as he will also continue his current U.S. tour for the first few weeks of the season, if he can last that long.

Gavin's pro partner, Karina Smirnoff, will most likely join him on tour so they can keep up the practicing, but none of his concerts conflict with DWTS dates.

Wagner, Heather Locklear's ex, will compete amid a minor scandal, while Menounos and Shepherd represent the entertainment show contingent.

Gavin DeGraw is speaking out for the first time since a beating on a New York street left him hospitalized. He says "all hell broke loose" August 8.

Now on the mend at home, DeGraw sustained a broken nose, cuts, bruises and a concussion in a brawl that stemmed from late-night trash talk.

For the first time, he's opening up about what happened:

"I met up with a couple of friends," the singer told DC's Hot 99.5 radio. "I was walking home, I got a few blocks and then all hell broke loose."

"Somebody said something to me I didn't like. I let them know I didn't like it. The first thing on my mind was, my life's in jeopardy, and I was bleeding pretty bad... fortunately, I lived through it. It was very bloody."

He was beat up, then hit by a cab after he fleed from his assailants.

After a bizarre and violent incident that saw Gavin DeGraw attacked on the street, the singer is still recovering from serious injuries in a New York hospital.

Despite a concussion, broken nose and other injuries to his face and body, he insists he WILL perform with Maroon 5 and Train again by the end of August.

DeGraw's rep just released a statement saying the singer has been advised by doctors to take additional time to recover, but he wants to return August 24.

The "I Don't Wanna Be" crooner is in stable condition.

DeGraw claims he was jumped by three unknown men on a NY street corner Sunday night. Police are investigating the seemingly random attack.

It is believed, although unproven as there are no suspects at this time, that the assailants did not know DeGraw or the fact that he's famous.

We wish him the speediest of recoveries.

The good news is that Gavin DeGraw is stable and recovering from a vicious assault late Sunday. The bad news is that police have yet to make any arrests.

A rep for the singer tells E! News that DeGraw is at New York City's Bellevue Hospital, where he was taken after he was attacked by a group of assailants.

According to his camp, DeGraw was assaulted and suffered a concussion, broken nose, black eyes and cuts and bruise. Detectives are still investigating.

The violent incident occurred in New York's East Village five blocks from the National Underground, a bar Gavin actually co-owns with his brother, Joey.

It's unclear whether the singer, who was reportedly out partying with friends that night, had been drinking there. What is clear is that they got jumped.

After the attack occurred, he managed to stumble up to Third Avenue and 19th Street, where he was then struck by a cab but not seriously injured.

At that point, an ambulance was called.

Get well soon, Gavin. We are thinking about you and playing the video above. Kristin Cavallari is single again, just FYI. You should give her a call.

According to The New York Post, the 34-year-old was out with friends when he was attacked by a "pack of thugs" on the street for reasons unknown.

Gavin DeGraw was then hit by a taxi as he stumbled away.

His reps say in a statement: "Gavin DeGraw was assaulted ... and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. [Gavin] is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time."

McGraw has a new album due out in September and has been on tour with Train and Maroon 5 in recent months. We wish him a fast recovery.
