Actor Gary Busey and his girlfriend, Steffanie Sampson, welcomed their first child together early Tuesday morning. Congratulations to the new parents!

The 65-year-old Oscar nominee (for 1978's Buddy Holly Story) and the 40-year-old Sampson named the boy - born at 6:40 a.m. - Luke Samson Busey.

He weighed in at 6 lbs., 7 oz.

"This feels like a dream," the pair said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. "We feel blessed and are overwhelmed with happiness at Luke's arrival."

Gary Busey's 38-year-old son Jake (with ex Judy Helkenberg) was the couple's first hospital visitor. What wonderful, celebratory news for all involved!

Busey's agent and longtime attorney, Vicki Roberts, confirmed that the oddball actor's partner is seven months pregnant with a boy named Luke.

"He feels awesome about it, he's excited and thrilled and can't wait," Roberts says of Busey, 65, who is already dad to a son, actor Jake Busey.

He also has a daughter, Alectra, a from previous relationship.

Actually a decent actor but better known for being a loose cannon, Gary Busey surfaces every now and again. Bless him for it.

Last night on the red carpet, prior to the start of the 80th annual Academy Awards, the 63-year-old, somewhat insane actor inexplicably hijacked American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's interview with Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney.

He then embraced Garner and planted one on her neck.
