Krysten Ritter is the latest name generating buzz online as a candidate to play impressionable, nubile Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey.

Ritter re-tweeted a fan's endorsement stemming from a celebrity news report that the 31-year-old actress was gunning for the role in the movie adaptation.

"Thanks! i would be down. ;) RT @JustMe_Toni: @50shadesclub between the two it should 100% be @Krystenritter," Ritter tweeted this week.

It's been a very cushy year for the folks at Random House publishing thanks to author E. L. James, who created the insanely popular trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey.

Maybe you've heard of it?

Due to the massive success of the novels, Random House went above and beyond the standard holiday bonus and is giving each employee an extra $5,000.

Literary critics panned the novel as poorly written and labeled it as "mommy porn." Oh well, guess who's laughing all the way to the bank? Laters, baby.

If you're thinking of filming a kinky, XXX film and slapping the name Fifty Shades of Grey on it, then you best be prepared for lawsuit from Universal Studios.

The company is going after several productions for doing just that, claiming they illegally made unauthorized films i.e. "Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation."

Really, that's the title. Way to make it your own guys.

Universal, along with Fifty Shades Ltd., claims the film isn't a parody, just a knockoff, and therefore isn't entitled to protection under the First Amendment.

A UK woman is reportedly divorcing her husband on grounds that the erotic, bestselling novel Fifty Shades of Grey failed to ignite his languishing libido.

The woman, a high-powered banker who earns more than $600,000 a year, said she tried to spice up her love life with the aid of E.L. James’ novel.

The plan backfired, however, when her “boring” husband accused her of “unreasonable behavior.” Maybe he was just repulsed by the abysmal writing quality?

Increasingly unhinged screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis, who wanted to pen the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, quickly bashed the woman chosen Monday to do so instead.

One of the film's producers slammed Ellis right back as a result.

Ellis tweeted Monday: "Kelly Marcel?!? KELLY MARCEL?!? Kelly Marcel is WRITING the script for 'Fifty Shades of Grey'?!? THIS is the movie they want to make? ARGH!"

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie announced a key player today.

Sadly, it's not the actors cast as Christian or Ana, but screenwriter Kelly Marcel will play a huge role in bringing the erotic young adult novel trilogy to life.

Marcel was the creator of Terra Nova and penned the new Disney film Saving Mr. Banks, which stars Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson and Colin Farrell.

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie offers quite a departure from that in terms of subject matter, but producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti lauded her abilities.

Is Ryan Gosling set to play the lead role of Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey?

Not exactly. Or at all. But the rumor mill has run wild with this one. Why?

According to reports, author E. L. James' husband Niall Leonard thinks Gosling would be perfect and he is now the frontrunner for the role. Only those reports aren't accurate.

"As usual, it's all been misreported," she said. "What happened is that his local paper ... reported on my husband being the inspiration for Christian Grey."
