EL James is coming out with a companion album of sorts for 50 Shades of Grey ... classical style, not bow-chick-a-bow-wow, body-slapping style.

Unlike the Fifty Shades of Grey “soundtrack” playlist presented on the bestselling author’s official site, this record will feature strictly classical music.

Sadly, it does not include Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis reading 50 Shades of Grey passages, although honestly that could sell millions.

Take a look at the brief video trailer for the album below...

EJ James personally selected 15 works she said inspired her trilogy (Fifty Shades of Grey, Darker and Freed) to include on the special album.

James is “thrilled that the classical pieces that inspired me while I wrote [Fifty Shades] are being brought together in one collection for all lovers of the books to enjoy.”

The album “aims to provide the perfect accompaniment to the Fifty Shades experience, setting a mysterious, alluring atmosphere with just the slightest hint of danger…”

Follow the jump for the OFFICIAL track listing of composers who no doubt dreamed that centuries after their death, their music would be used as the backdrop for Christian Grey ransacking Ana Steele's body night in and night out ...

Amid reports that Emma Watson was in discussions for the lead role of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, the Internet got all sorts of excited.

For no reason.

Despite rumors linking her to the hotly-anticipated project, the Harry Potter cutie says she is not in negotiations to star, nor has she even read it.

“I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing,” she said.

“There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call or expressed interest. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - I never even saw a script!”

She adds that even some friends and family asked her about Fifty Shades of Grey since so many different "news" items popped up online.

Her response to that: “I told them just because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn’t mean it’s any less true than if there are 3-4.”

So no Emma Watson as Ana Steele. But you can see her in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring and Darren Aronofsky’s Noah soon.

Channing Tatum has thrown his well-chiseled abs and buns of steel hat into the Fifty Shades of Grey ring.

Sort of.

Asked during a Glamour-sponsored Twitter Q&A with fans this week about the main role of Christian Grey in that upcoming big screen adaption, the Magic Mike star simply said YES, he'd be open to the role...

... but he added a caveat:

"I'd only be allowed if my wife was Ana. She’s read the books so I don’t think she’d be impressed if she couldn’t be Ana!”

Tatum is married to actress Jenna Dewan. But she might need to get in line behind Emma Watson, who is reportedly a leading candidate for the character of Anastasia Steele.

Other actors that have expressed interest in portraying Christian include Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling, and Alexander Skarsgard.

Would you want to see Tatum in this sexy role?

Talk about casting against type...

According to The New York Daily News, Emma Watson is the latest actress rumored to be up for the role of Anastasia Steele in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey big screen adaption.

Watson, of course, will forever be known as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise. She'll next be seen in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which hits theaters on September 14.

Who might star opposite Watson if this young star nabs the role? Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling, and Alexander Skarsgard have all been talked about as Christian Grey.

Do you want to see Emma Watson portray Anastasia Steele?

Robert Pattinson weighed in on the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon today at Comic-Con ... with an obvious reference to the erotic novel's sexiness.

When questioned during the Breaking Dawn: Part 2 panel, he and Kristen Stewart were mum on whether or not they've read the sex-filled bestseller.

If presented with a copy, however, he knows just what he would do.

"I would just sit there and lick the pages," Pattinson said in San Diego, adding, "What are we live on?" realizing his response would gain attention.

Stewart on the other hand, was less upbeat about the topic.

When asked if she reads the novel in a book club with Pattinson and fellow Twilight star Taylor Lautner, she said simply, "That would be disgusting."

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been mentioned as possible leads in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, however unlikely that may seem.

The upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film is getting all sorts of hype ... which it can't possibly live up to. Could this movie possibly be any good at all?

Given the popularity of EL James' novels, there's no reason why a 50 Shades film couldn't win over general audiences and make money ... in theory.

The only problem with a Fifty Shades of Grey movie is ... the Fifty Shades of Grey book. What has made it so successful simply may not translate.

Fifty Shades of Grey Quote

"The only way to make it into a crowd-pleasing film is to pretty much tear everything out of the book," says author/screenwriter Christopher Farnsworth.

"Those movies don't historically make a lot of money. Studios don't want to make R-rated films. They want more PG films that a lot of people can see."

Many believe Fifty Shades would be better suited to an HBO show, which, regardless of who plays Christian and Ana, could drag out its racy content for years.

Of course, if the budget for this film is small enough, and the buzz strong enough, an R rating doesn't have to stand in the way of a long-term profit.

Especially if the flick sticks with the book's main thematic elements, which, when you strip away all the sex, is basically glorified Twilight fan fiction.

"It's the classic big love story ... the powerful man who plucks out a seemingly ordinary woman, and makes her feel special," romance author Beatriz Williams says.

"That's emotional crack for women. We're hardwired to love this stuff."

Indeed ... but will you pay to see the 50 Shades movie? Vote!

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is coming along nicely. Only problem is you won't really be able to watch it discreetly on your kindle. You'll have to buy a ticket.

The big-screen adaptation of the only thing anyone's been talking about for the last year now has a writer. This comes just a day after the erotic novel trilogy's author E.L. James hired The Social Network producers.

Jim Piddock will write the script for Fifty Shades of Grey. Piddock is an English writer and actor who you may recognize as Emily Blunt's father in The Five-Year Engagement. His writing credits include Tooth Fairy and The Man.

Now that Fifty has its producers and its writer, the production is sure to be fast-tracked to capitalize on the book's success. The biggest thing left is the cast.

Tons of names have been thrown around for the roles of Christian and Anastasia, and Ian Somerhalder really wants the part. Other names being thrown around include Robert Pattinson, Chris Hemsworth, and Bradley Cooper.

Do you think Somerhalder should star as Christian Grey?

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is moving forward, with two big names now on board. To produce it, that is. Still no word on who will play Christian and Ana.

Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, the team behind The Social Network, will produce the movie version of E.L. James' novel, giving it a credibility boost.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal co-chairman Donna Langley said of the film: “At its core, Fifty Shades of Grey is a complex love story."

"It requires a delicate and sophisticated hand to bring it to the big screen. Mike and Dana’s credits more than exemplify what we need in creative partners."

The books, about an innocent college girl drawn into the world of bondage and S&M by an attractive billionaire, have already sold 31 million copies worldwide.

As for the details everyone's most curious about - who will play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey - we may have to wait awhile, according to E.L. James.

"We are so far away from casting the Fifty films," the writer tweeted last week. "No one has been ruled out... no one is ruled in. Just so you all know."

Names like the Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Michael Fassbender and Channing Tatum have been floated ... who do you have in mind?

Fifty Shades of Grey was spawned by Edward-Bella Twilight fan fiction, so it's little surprise that the EL James novel has spawned ... a viral online musical!

Okay, this still comes out of nowhere.

The parody below is an amalgam of 50 Shades reactions: a housewife who adores the S&M "mommy porn" series, a feminist who hates it, a the guy who hates it ... or the fact that he really loves it deep down. He seems a little conflicted.

It's pretty spot-on ... except that no one would ever call it "well-written":

The upcoming film adaptation of the book, which has inspired an online fantasy casting game of sorts, will most certainly not be of the musical variety.

Some stars, such as TVD's Ian Somerhalder, have even expressed interest in the films themselves. Who can you see as the two leads? Vote below!
