Family Guy promised a significant death this fall, and Sunday, it delivered.

Sadly, and incredibly, Brian died in Family Guy Season 12 Episode 6.

Seth MacFarlane and the Fox series' writers not only went there, but they also dismantled Stewie's time machine so he can't go and rescue his friend.

Stewie even replaced poor Brian with Vinnie. It was a lot to take in.

For the consideration of Emmy voters around the nation, Family Guy has released a new print ad.

And it makes those Family Guy quotes uttered every Sunday night seem downright tame by comparison.

The campaign takes aim at HBO's Girls and features the Fox sitcom's characters posing like Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet.

But it's the tagline along the top that really gets your attention: "Here's a load of comedy to shoot on your chest."

Will voters respond to these racy tactics? Nominations for the 2013 ceremony will be announced on July 18.

Fox has pulled a Family Guy episode from the Internet for a very understandable reason:

At one point during the installment, Peter Griffin is asked by Bob Costas about his performance at the event. The cartoon then flashes to Peter running down runners wit his car.

Later on, Peter befriends a terrorist and accidentally blows up a bridge.

The producers of Family Guy would like to be nominated for an Emmy Award. But some don't believe their latest mailing will accomplish this goal.

The flyer speaks for itself:

Family Guy Mailer

Naturally, anyone who has heard any of a number of Family Guy quotes is aware this is par for the sitcom's controversial, non-PC course. But that doesn't mean the campaign is going over well.

"While I think Family Guy is a genuinely funny show, we all - including this 'Brentwood Jew' -need to think twice about this kind of humor," a TV executive told E! News. "Stereotyping any particular ethnic group is just not cool and can lead others (with the wrong intentions) to feel a certain license to take shots. Surely Seth [MacFarlane] has better stuff than this."

What do you think of the campaign? Did the show go too far?

Sundat on Family Guy, Quahog's school assignment was to write an essay on hope, with the winner earning an exquisite honor of introducing the President.

Chris stole Meg's essay and won, but like a good brother, they ended up sharing in reading it and presenting Barack Obama at James Woods High School.

Then, of course, Obama appeared in a skintight leather outfit and sang a song for no apparent reason. This sort of thing tends to happen on Family Guy ...
