Ellen DeGeneres Gossip

Ellen DeGeneres is Married, Hilarious

Attention, celebrities:

This is how you blog! In a message to her fans on her official website, Ellen DeGeneres was hilarious in describing her post-nuptials state:

“I had a big, big weekend. I got married to Portia de Rossi! Sorry, John Stamos… this one’s taken.

You may notice something different about the way I’m writing…it’s fancy. This is the font I type in now that I’m MARRIED! I do a lot of things differently now …I say ‘I do’ a lot. For example: Who wants to do pilates? I do. Would you like a Mountain Dew? I do. Do you know why I pulled you over? I do. And that was just this morning.

The wedding was everything we hoped it would be. I wish I could’ve invited all of you. But I have some pictures and video I can show you when Season 6 starts on September 8th. I can’t wait to see them too…it was all a blur. See you then.”

Say hello to Mrs. Portia de Rossi.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi: Married!

It's official:

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are married.

"Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their spokesperson said in a statement, confirming the plans Ellen had announced on her talk show in May.

DeGeneres and de Rossi each wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane during the Saturday ceremony. Nineteen guests were in attendance.

Wife and Wife

We now pronounce you wife and wife: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres: Almost Married!

According to reports, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi will get married this weekend in California.

Us Weekly was the first to run the story, stating that the couple is planning an intimate ceremony with only a few close friends and family.

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres are on track to be pronounced wife and wife.

Following the California Supreme Court's historic ruling that same sex couple's have the "right to marry," DeGeneres announced she planned to wed the former Arrested Development actress on a taping of her show in May.

"It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited," DeGeneres said.

de Rossi and DeGeneres may have company at the altar this weekend. Other reports have said Beth Ostrosky and Howard Stern were set to tie the knot on Saturday.

Jenna Hager's Wedding Advice to Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres and John McCain may have gotten into a smackdown over her plans to marry partner Portia DeRossi, but there's another Republican who is far less abrasive - and even willing to help with the nuptials:

Jenna Hager (a.k.a. Jenna Bush)!

The first daughter, who got married May 10 at the Bush family compound in Crawford, Texas, appears with her mother, Laura Bush, on next Wednesday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Looks like they're having fun ...

Mrs. Henry Hager and the future Mrs. Portia de Rossi share a laugh.

Among the topics of discussion, of course, will be Jenna's wedding to Henry Hager, with the bride even showing off some new reception photos.

Said Ellen DeGeneres: "So, the ranch was a great place to get married - it looked like nobody could fly over and get pictures of you, really."

"Yeah," concurred Jenna Hager, "it was really nice." Ellen responded: "So, can we borrow it for our wedding, can we get the ranch?"

Ellen DeGeneres and John McCain Don't Have a Gay Ol' Time

John McCain wants America to stay in Iraq eternity. But when it comes to homosexuals vowing to love each other for the same period of time?

Not so much.

"I just believe in the unique status of marriage between man and woman," McCain told well-known gay talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on her program. "And I know that we have a respectful disagreement on that issue."

DeGeneres, to her credit, took the senator to task for his views, declaring:

"We are all the same people, all of us. You're no different than I am. Our love is the same."

Ellen DeGeneres vs. John McCain

Ellen, of course, has announced that she and Portia de Rossi will be married later this year in California. McCain responded to that news - and the general news that the Golden State Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of gay marriage - as best he could:

"People should be able to enter into legal agreements, and I think that is something we should encourage, particularly in the case of insurance and other areas."

DeGeneres said that arrangement "doesn't feel inclusive… it feels… isolated." It was a tense interview, one we admire Ellen for conducting and McCain for putting himself through.

Where do you stand on the issue of gay marriage?

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to Get Married

California, here they come!

On the day the California Supreme Court overturned that state's ban against gay marriage, Ellen DeGeneres announced on her talk show that her and longtime partner Portia de Rossi have plans to wed.

The former Academy Award host made the declaration during a taping of an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. It airs today.

De Rossi, who was in the studio, and DeGeneres received a standing ovation from the audience. Allow us to now join that crowd in congratulating these two love birds.

Conversely, allow us to extend condolences to Anne Heche. It's been a rough week for Ellen's ex. Her show, Men in Trees, got canceled; she then said she could not afford alimony payments to Coley Laffoon; and now this.

Of course, Heche is straight now. So maybe she wishes Ellen and Portia the best.

Celebrity Look-Alikes, Vol. 39: Zac Efron, Ellen DeGeneres

High School Musical fans may get angry over the following comparison between celebrities, but it's hard to argue with, isn't it?

While Zac Efron is best known for looking cuter than a puppy sitting atop a kitten, the same may also need to be said about talk show host Ellen DeGeneres now.

The two stars have a similar haircut and smooth face. We can imagine Vanessa Hudgens going home with Ellen by accident one night... and DeGeneres not minding at all.
