As any loyal Twilight Saga follower knows, Rachelle Lefevre will not be reprising the role of Victoria in this franchise's third installment.

Reaction to that news, from fans and co-stars, continues to reverberate.

"I can say that I'm saddened that the dates didn't work out," Peter Facinelli told MTV News, referring to Lefevre's and Summit Entertainment's claims that a 10-day shooting overlap with another movie was the reason she'll be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in Eclipse.

Lefevre, of course, denies that this is a valid reason and is threatening to sue the movie studio.

Enjoy this photo of Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria. You won't be seeing it much in the future.

Said Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the movie: "Rachelle's a dear friend, and I'll miss her terribly.

"I really can't say anything on the business side. Rachelle is an amazing actress and an amazing woman... I'm really sad that I'm not going to get to work with her on the final film of the franchise we started together."

Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) did tell MTV that the cast is "going to embrace Bryce Dallas Howard — and I hope that the fans do, too."

You tell us, fans. Will you embrace this switch?

There's a new controversy swirling around the Twilight Saga.

And it's got nothing to do with Team Edward vs. Team Jacob.

Yesterday, Summit Entertainment announced that it had recast the role of Victoria in Eclipse. Bryce Dallas Howard will be taking over for Rachelle Lefevre.

The studio says that Lefevre's shooting schedule for her next movie, Barney Version, coincides too much with the production of the third film in this iconic franchise. In a statement she just released, it's clear the actress disagrees:

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for Eclipse. I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to Barney’s Version is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse.

Does Rachelle Lefevre have a legitimate beef? Do you wanna see her in the role of Victoria?

Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.

I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of Eclipse only the very best.“

In response, the movie studio wrote:

"Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project – which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment – makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

Chime in now, fans: Whose side are you on in this feud?

There's a major cast shake-up for Twilight fans to wake up to this morning.

No, neither Robert Pattinson nor Kristen Stewart nor Taylor Lautner is going anywhere.

Bryce Dallas Howard Pregnant

But Rachelle Lefevre, who played the evil character of Victoria in the first movie and will do so again in New Moon, will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in the franchise's third installment, Eclipse.

Howard will begin shooting, along with the rest of the cast, in Vancouver on August 17.

Can you picture Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria?

The studio said the switch was made due to scheduling conflicts.

Dallas Howard is the daughter of director Ron Howard. She's starred in Terminator Salvation and Spider-Man 3, among many other films.

This is the second major casting news announced this month for Eclipse. Xavier Samuel will star as Riley in the much-anticipated flick.

Move over, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. At least for the next few seconds.

Your new co-star has the floor, as Xavier Samuel spoke out this week about his casting as Riley in the final two Twilight Saga films.

The X Man

Reportedly, the little-known Australian actor beat out American box office stars such as Channing Tatum and Tom Felton for the role. Samuel was shocked and excited when he learned the news.

"I was up against some truly great actors who I'm privileged to be considered among," the actor told a newspaper Down Under. "It's a fantastic opportunity.”

It could also be a scary one.

Reports on the set of Pattinson's new movie detail the extreme measures taken on behalf of the star against unruly fans.

Is Samuel ready for such attention? He'll have to be, as Riley is a vital part of Eclipse. The character is a student "seduced by the villain Victoria, who manipulates him in order to seek her revenge," Xavier described. "That's as much as I know!”

Sounds like more than most fans know about Xavier Samuel. Expect that to change soon, however.

Pssst, Bella:

You might wanna stop thinking about a make out session with Jacob and start running for your life.

Producers have found an actor to take on the role of Riley in Eclipse, the relatively new vampire that is tasked with one mission by Victoria: murder Bella!

His name is Xavier Samuel, he's a little-known Australian star and Eclipse will actually mark his big screen debut in America. We hope he's prepared for the fame that's sure to follow.

Not much is known about Samuel, though he's on record as saying:

“I don’t have any facial hair, so it will be a while before I play the gruff leading man. Maybe one day I’ll get to play my actual age. For now my baby face has condemned me to play the teenager.”

Harry Potter star Tom Felton had been rumored for the role of Riley. Think the movie made the right choice with Xavier? Click on the following images to get a closer look at him...

Robert Pattinson may be the object of every female's affection these days due to his role in Twilight, but the actor got his first big screen break in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Now, a former co-star of his is up for a role in the Twilight Saga.

Tom Felton Wins!

Rumors are circulating that Tom Felton - who has made a name for himself by appearing in every Harry Potter film as the evil Draco Malfoy - may land the part of Riley in Eclipse.

While New Moon doesn't even hit theaters until November, it's not too early to speculate about various Eclipse casting calls; the third film in this beloved franchise will be released on June 30, 2010.

In response to the rumors, Felton recently posted the following on his fan site, Feltbeats.com, and Twitter page, respectively:

"Ill be ready when they want me! Really, I'm only joking. Im not really sure at this point; but you will be the first to know if I find out anything... i keep getting asked if im being cast as Riley in Twilight! Ill let you all know if so!!!"

The Harry Potter/Twilight connections don't end with Pattinson and Felton: Jamie Campbell Bower will portray Caius in New Moon, along with Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Do you think Tom Felton should play Riley in Eclipse?

While the buzz for New Moon is just starting to reach a fevered pitch - via a trailer, set photos and movie stills - it's never too early to hype the next installment in the Twilight Saga franchise.

We can confirm that Eclipse will be released in theaters on June 30, 2010.

Filming will take place in Vancouver and run from August 17 until October 31. Look for David Slade to direct the drama.

For those unfamiliar with the story of Eclipse:

As graduation nears for Bella (Kristen Stewart), Seattle is faced with a number of mysterious murders. Meanwhile, she must choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner), a decision which may ignite a centuries-old war between vampires and werewolves.

Good luck with that one, Bella!
