Heidi Montag has married Spencer Pratt a bunch of times, but her true love is plastic surgery, and her secret crush was the man who operated on her.

One of the late Dr. Frank Ryan's close friends, Dawn DaLuise, takes issue with Heidi's claim that he pressured her into her hilarious major makeover.

"I believe she had a crush on him," the celebrity plastic surgeon's pal said. "She was romantically obsessed. She saw him as a night in shining armor."

To hear Heidi Montag tell it now, Dr. Ryan - who died in a car accident after driving off a cliff in Malibu - wanted the poor thing "to be his Barbie doll."

DaLuise said it was Heidi who made the Barbie comment.

"He sent texts and emails saying she wanted to be Barbie, to look exactly like Barbie," DaLuise said, adding that Ryan tried to talk the plastic surgery addict OUT of getting DDD breasts, a brow lift, a nose job, lipo, butt augmentation, etc.

Never drink and drive. That message has been drilled into our heads for decades. Now there is a newer threat: Texting/Tweeting/Facebooking and driving.

New reports indicate that Dr. Frank Ryan, plastic surgeon to Heidi Montag and other celebrities, was Tweeting just before his fatal car accident on Monday.

Ex-girlfriend Charmaine Blake said the surgeon “lived up in Malibu on a tiny street and he was texting while driving and he accidentally went over the cliff.”

People also confirmed with the California Highway Patrol that Ryan was Tweeting, although the official cause of the accident has still not been determined.

Dr. Frank Ryan was purportedly Tweeting about his border collie, Jill, when he lost control of his car. His final tweet was a photo of Jill atop a sand dune.

The dog survived injuries incurred in the crash.

Dr. Frank Ryan passed away after a car crash yesterday.

While often associated with teenagers, Ryan's reported texting and driving proves how this has become a serious and underrated problem for adult drivers as well.

Public service announcements and advocacy campaigns dedicated to highlighting the dangers of texting, etc., while driving have become more prevalent of late.

In addition to advocacy by governments, consumer groups and wireless companies, some states have even passed laws barring it, even if they allow phone calls.

Hopefully those measures, coupled with incidents like this latest tragedy, can serve as a reminder for others to put down the phone. You can Tweet and text later.

Dr. Frank Ryan, a prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon to the stars, has been killed in a car crash after his Jeep veered off the Pacific Coast Highway yesterday.

The doctor was just 50.

His car landed on rocks and lifeguards initially tried to help Ryan, to no avail. He was trapped in the vehicle and had major, ultimately catastrophic head injuries.

Minutes before, Ryan Tweeted: "After 25 years of driving by I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu. Much harder than it looks! Whew!" His last Tweet: "Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune."

Dr. Frank Ryan was widely criticized for the surgery he did on The Hills star Heidi Montag, who famously underwent 10 procedures in a single day earlier this year.

"He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met," Montag Tweeted after his passing.

"He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever exist. My prayers go out to his mother, family, friends, and anyone ever blessed enough to meet him."

His bodies of work will be remembered throughout Hollywood.
