On the second episode of The Hills' 4th season, Stephanie Pratt invites Lauren Conrad to her birthday party. That sounds well and good, until we learn Spencer and Heidi are gonna roll, too. Great ready for hectic drama!

Whitney Port saw this one coming big time. At work, she shows some concern when Lauren tells her that she’s going to Stephanie Pratt’s party, feeling that a run in with Heidi and Spencer is inevitable - and far from pretty.

On the career front, Whitney gets invited out to dinner with Kelly Cutrone and other People's Revolution peeps. She seems to be moving up in the company and getting more responsibility, which excites her but also nervous.

At Epic Records, Audrina Patridge vents to Chiara about Lo - who must have gone to a stylist right before they went out, because she looks flat-out ridic to us. Anyway, Audrina and Lo vow to try to make nice at the party.

They don't really succeed.

It was a Pratt family feud last night on The Hills.

At first, Spencer Pratt didn't even want to show his ugly mug at Stephanie's b-day party. Unfortunately for us, Heidi talks into into it, telling him not to let LC ruin his relationship with a family member. Spencer agrees, but only reluctantly.

Lauren and Lo arrived at Steph's party first, with Audrina Patridge, Frankie Delgado, Brody Jenner and Doug Reinhardt showing up a little later.

A week after Lo and Audrina's showdown, Lauren Conrad opens up to beau Doug Reinhardt about the aftermath on tonight's episode of The Hills.

"It was kind of a disaster," she tells him over lunch.

Doug Reinhardt lets her remarks sink in for a moment and then responds: "Everything, everybody in your life is hectic... Let's go do somethin.'"

How can you not love a man like that?

Later in the conversation, Lauren Conrad invites Doug to a birthday party for Stephanie Pratt that weekend. We all know that won't end well.

Before recapping last night's episode of The Hills - or whatever you call the 10 minutes of show surrounded by 20 minutes of ads - a quick note:

You suck, MTV.

We realize ads pay for the entertainment, and that you want to milk every cent out of your one hit show. But eight straight minutes? Jackasses.

Anyway.

Before 12 Taco Bell ads destroyed our love for it, the fourth season of The Hills started off great. It began at work with Whitney and Lauren.

Lauren is clearly preoccupied about her hot date with Doug Reinhardt later that night. She tells Whitney Port all about it. Giggling ensues.

LC's somewhat-estranged roommate, Audrina Patridge, reveals her weekend plans to amusingly-named Chiara, her co-worker at Epic Records.

Turns out Lauren Conrad is throwing her a birthday bash at the house. Should be a lot of fun, right? Well, Chiara is worried - and not at all prompted by the producers to say so - that tension between Audrina and Lo will ruin it. 

Meanwhile, on The Hills 2.0, a.k.a. SpeidiLand, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are living together again, but little does he know she has told Holly Montag, her sister from Colorado, that she can stay with them for a bit.

When he finds out, Spencer Pratt immediately wants rid of Holly and acts like a total d!ck, rejecting the nice breakfast she made and everything.

He sleeps until noon, then promptly goes back to bed. Apparently man has quite a flexible schedule. No discernible employment will allow that.

A new guy is (or at least was, when this was filmed) rocking Lauren Conrad’s love life, as shown on tonight’s season premiere of The Hills.

In the sneak preview below, Lauren Conrad preps for a date with mediocre baseball player - and Laguna Beach native - Doug Reinhardt.

Before departing, LC also chides BFF Lauren "Lo" Bosworth and her quasi-feud with their third roommate (and wheel), Audrina Patridge.

Here's a shocker. Doug Reinhardt, Lauren Conrad's boyfriend on the upcoming season of The Hills, is kissing and telling.

"She a good kisser," he tells E! Online of LC's smooching style.

These two actually go way back. They both lived in Laguna Beach (Doug's sis Casey Reinhardt actually appeared on that show in a supporting role) and dated briefly during high school after being introduced by Lo Bosworth.

As for Stephanie Pratt's claims to celebrity news tabloids last week that he and L.C. only dated for about "two weeks," Doug Reinhardt, who's hitting a miserable .201 over three years in minor league baseball, disagrees.

Doug Reinhardt insists his relationship with Lauren Conrad was "fairly serious."

If that's the case, whose idea was that so-called date between he and Stephanie Pratt, as shown in The Hills' Season Four trailer?

"Let's just say it wasn't mine," Doug says.

As for his love life now, he's currently "single and ready to mingle."

Looks like Lauren Conrad feels the same way: She's been spotted spending QT with My Boys actor Kyle Howard. More on that a little later.

And that's just in the two-minute trailer for The Hills!

Seriously, this Season Four preview alone is a theatrical masterpiece. It's as if it's a movie, only the actors don't know they're in it ... or are at least really good at pretending there aren't 12 cameras following them to Les Deux.

Whether you're an unabashed fan of Lauren Conrad and The Hills or say you're not, but you still can't turn off MTV's guilty-pleasure phenomenon, watch the following trailer in awe and count down the days until Monday, August 18:

In a new trailer, Lauren Conrad confronts Stephanie about going on a date with her handsome new baseball player beau, Doug Reinhardt.

Meanwhile, Lo Bosworth and Audrina Patridge confront their own drama, and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are — wait for it — fighting.

This time, a stubborn Spencer Pratt says he's moving out of their apartment if Heidi's sister, Holly Montag, becomes their third roommate.

In spite of her high-school crush's return on The Hills, Lauren Conrad has a new beau - Doug Reinhardt, 22, a minor leaguer for the Baltimore Orioles.

Not sure why Doug Reinhardt, who's hitting just .201 career in the minors, doesn't have baseball to play on May 1 - maybe he's injured? - but as long as LC likes him, and he's not a complete jackass, we'll give him a shot.

He's gotta be better than Josh McRoberts, right? Right. The new twosome took their romance public Wednesday, dining al fresco in Los Angeles. There may or may not have been 10 Hills cameras around them ...

She may be writing a hockey blog for the NHL Playoffs, but the young hunk seen with Lauren Conrad frequently is a minor league baseball player named Doug Reinhardt, who's in the Baltimore Orioles' farm system.

His stats suck (the guy's batting .201 career in the minors) but hey, he's only 22 - and maybe good looks will help him make the big leagues.

Besides, he's already qualified as a solid player in our book if he's really going out with Lauren Conrad! Here are some photos of them ...
