Derek Jeter is really rubbing our faces in it now.

The New York Yankees star, just a few weeks removed from winning his fifth World Series ring, was already the envy of men everywhere but Boston and Philadelphia.

Now he's taken his god-like status to new heights by whisking Friday Night Lights actress Minka Kelly away a sun-soaked, snorkeling vacation on St. Bart's.

Lucky stiff.

Jeter flaunted his ripping muscles and hairless torso while Kelly showed off her curves in a cute bikini. Does Minka Kelly have what it takes to become Mrs. Derek Jeter?

We'll have to wait and see on that. But while Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson get all the publicity, these two are without a doubt the hottest Yankee-actress couple.

No offense, Nick Swisher and Joanna Garcia.

A-Rod and Kate Hudson have been getting all the celeb gossip attention in the clubhouse - to the dismay of rival New York Yankees girlfriend Minka Kelly.

But are Derek Jeter and Kelly the ones taking it to the next level, in secret?

"Derek and Minka are secretly engaged," an insider told the New York Post.

This is almost certainly a lie, but the paper says the Yankee captain and the actress are telling close pals to "save the date" for nuptials in the fall.

"The wedding is being planned and will take place after baseball season is over," said a source. But is it just gossip concocted to sell newspapers?

A rep for Kelly said, "There is no fall wedding planned to Derek Jeter."

Is Minka Kelly engaged to Derek Jeter?

Well, that kind of sounds like a "no," but it's an awfully specific denial, no? The kind where they could marry December 22 and say it wasn't in the fall? Or marry in a civil ceremony with a judge officiating and not call it a wedding?

Page Six also points out that the gorgeous Friday Night Lights star denied she was even dating the future Hall of Famer when they were seen together last year.

Now ... she hasn't been spotted with a ring! Case closed!

She's already rounded third and headed for home with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, but Kate Hudson won't get any hugs in the dugout from Minka Kelly.

The Friday Night Lights star is the girlfriend of New York's captain - and perceived A-Rod rival - Derek Jeter. And Minka doesn't like A-Rod's new play thing!

At home games, relations between the two actresses are said to be colder than fan reactions to those $2,000 seats at the new Yankee Stadium.

"There's been visible coldness between Minka and Kate," an insider told the New York Post. "I don't know if it's a personal thing, or just an extension of the ongoing A-Rod-Derek Jeter rivalry. But people are choosing sides."

Forget Red Sox-Yankees. This rivalry on the periphery the team with baseball's best record is far more interesting than your average MLB rumors.

According to New York media sources, Minka Kelly has been dating Jeter since last year, although you'd scarcely know it. She prefers to cheer him on from his private seats and keeps a low profile, rarely being photographed with him.

Then Kate Hudson burst on the scene.

She's been snapped kissing Alex Rodriguez in the stands, and recently switched from sitting in a private box to hanging out in the family seats, cheering on the team with Yankees wives such as Amber Sabathia and Karen Burnett.

Hudson, who also enthusiastically attended the Bombers' family picnic, seems to have gotten an early thumbs-up from veteran Yankee spouses Michelle Damon and Laura Posada, whose stamp of approval is crucial, a Post source said.

Reps for Hudson and Kelly didn't respond to requests for comment, but we are holding out hope for a public war of words, and/or a cat fight in the stands.

Missing the playoffs has its benefits.

For Alex Rodriguez, it means more time to woo Madonna... and get together with ex-wife Cynthia Rodriguez and their kids, looking petrified all the way.

His Yankees teammate Derek Jeter, meanwhile, also has some time on his hands to spend romantically – with Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly!

The two have been a rumored couple for months, and there is now no doubt as they were spotted cozying up together in Austin, Texas, last week.

The twosome looked "together and happy," says one onlooker.

Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly also attended the University of Texas football game on Saturday night in Austin, where Friday Night Lights is filmed.

The (extremely good looking) couple also hung out with lying, steroid-using baseball legend Roger Clemens for some reason. Nobody's perfect.

We're thankful that Dwyane Wade isn't really dating Star Jones, as had been previously rumored.

And we're impressed that the Miami Heat guard has reportedly moved in with actress Gabrielle Union. She's beautiful.

Union, of course, is one of Derek Jeter's many, many gorgeous ex-girlfriends. Dwyane Wade had better break it off with his new gal pal soon if he wishes to pick off every former mate of the Yankees shortstop while he still has his looks and his talent.

Yankees superstar Derek Jeter will need a hot bat if New York is to surpass the upstart Cleveland Indians in this week's American League Division Series.

But no matter what, he has a hot girlfriend in Gabrielle Union!

Don't hate. Derek Jeter can't help being awesome at baseball and good looking. In fact, he's a classy, modest guy - remarkable for someone with four rings who hits .317 career and has slept with Jessica Alba, Mariah Carey and Jessica Biel.

Best known for roles in Bad Boys and Bring It On, Gabrielle Union is a beautiful actress and model who has dated a number of notable athletes. In fact, she was married for four years to Chris Howard of the Jaguars... and went out with Jason Kidd in high school. She's also been linked to Javon Walker. And Ludacris.

Yeah. Here's hoping that she finds a little stability with the Yankees shortstop, who she was linked to as far back as February, and denied dating at the time!

L.A. Galaxy "star" David Beckham posed for photos with New York Yankees greats Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez - just before the Yanks faced the Toronto Blue Jays.

Rumor has it that David Beckham's L.A. Galaxy teammates were there too, but who knows. Or cares. No one gives a rat's behind about soccer here anyway.

For some reason, David Beckham was on hand before the game and chatted it up with Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, manager Joe Torre, and hitting coach Don Mattingly.

No word on whether Beckham discussed strip clubs with A-Rod or shared the fact that he may have had his own, well-publicized Joslyn Noel Morse style affair years ago.
