Danielle Staub's marriage to Kevin Maher did not end well.

Few things do when you're a prostitution whore or a narc.

Kevin Maher, who was married to the Real Housewives of New Jersey star for a year in the 1980s, during which he chronicled her lifestyle in the now-infamous book Cop Without a Badge, says Staub has repeatedly slandered him.

He is taking legal action due to the following allegations:

• That he "raped her on a bed of broken glass"
• That he "inserted a handgun inside her" and played Russian Roulette
• That he "killed their her dog by way of hanging it"

Maher, who insinuated his former wife might get whacked by drug lords for publicizing her past, also said that Staub threatened him on Bravo's reunion show.

Danielle Staub's past? Not un-shady.

On that Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion, Danielle Staub toted along a copy of Cop Without a Badge, an exposé about Maher's life as a police informant.

In "the book," Staub, who used to go by the name Beverly Ann Merrill, had a history of prostitution and drug use and once faced federal extortion charges.

Maybe Robert Halderman should have read up on her.

Despite the fact that Danielle's reputation is about as bad as it gets, Maher fears that he's been slandered and defamed by her comments since she got famous.

"It hurt my business and my reputation," Maher says, adding that he wants his day in court to see the 47-year-old mother of two squirm on the witness stand.

Danielle and the father of her two kids, Thomas Staub, divorced in 2007.

This is shocking.

A Tony Award nominee has rejected the advances of a former convict/cocaine addict/call girl/sex tape star.

Witnesses told Radar Online that Danielle Staub - whose past adventures with drugs, men and the law have been well documented - approached Constantine Maroulis at a party in New York City this week.

“They had never met before, she met him that night at the party,” a source said about the encounter. “She was all about him but I don’t think there was much interest on his part. When she gave him her number, he didn’t reciprocate.”

Ouch. Dissed - and dimissed!

Maroulis currently stars in Broadway’s Rock of Ages, for which he was nominated for the aforementioned Tony this year. He finished sixth on season four of American Idol.

We love Kim Kardashian.

But the the large-breasted socialite is just asking for a bevy of sex tape jokes when she blows bubbles on the red carpet of an event, such as last night's Three-O Vodka Bubble Launch Party.

We'll do our best to refrain from any Ray J references. We won't mention how Kim deposited the paycheck for showing up like her ex-boyfriend deposited his giant unit inside of her on video, or anything like that. We're maturing.

Evidently, last night's shindig opened its doors to anyone with a famous face.

Kim was not only joined on the red carpet by sister Khloe; but by Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub.

Staub looks normal in the photos below. You'd have no idea that she's an ex-convict, drug addict and former call girl. No idea at all...

According to Kevin Maher, the former FBI informant whose life is chronicled in the book Cop Without a Badge, maximum security prisoners love to watch Bravo.

Allow us to explain.

In an interview with Star, Maher - the ex-husband of Danielle Staub and the man that outed her shady past in the aforementioned book - expresses disbelief over Staub's decision to publicize her name and location.

"I can't believe Danielle would have allowed herself to go on TV - on a series that basically shows where she lives! - given what she has done in the past," Maher told the tabloid.

If any Colombian drug lords are reading this, Danielle Staub is really sorry for ratting you out.

It's true that Staub was arrested in 1986 as part of an extortion and kidnapping case. It's also true that she avoided jail time by giving up the names of various drug dealers.

But we somehow doubt those convicts are tuned in to The Real Housewives of New Jersey every week. Is this single mother's life really in danger? Yes, Maher claims.

"She helped put a couple of big-time Colombian coke dealers in jail," he said. "These are dangerous men who never forget... and they could be back out on the street now. It’s mind-boggling to me that she’d put herself at risk!"

In unrelated news, Maher also says Staub is a "raging nymphomaniac."

She's snorted cocaine.

She's starred in a sex tape.

She's been arrested for kidnapping and extortion.

Indeed, the life of Danielle Staub has been its very own soap opera. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that The Real Housewives of New Jersey star actually appeared on a soap opera in 2001. It's called type-casting!

Cat fights. Table flips. Cocaine-addicted kidnappers.

The first season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey had it all. Therefore, it comes as no shock that another round of episodes has been ordered for this Bravo series.

"They're doing a second season, and it's going to be crazier than the first," a source told Life & Style. "It's going to explode. There's no premiere date, but everyone knows it's going to be a huge hit. The reason it has taken so long to announce is that once the show became such a hit, the women held out for much bigger paychecks."

Meanwhile, the woman at the center of the show - and in the center of the photograph above - is Danielle Staub.

Host Andy Cohen referred to Staub as a "fascinating character" during a recent interview with OK! Magazine, adding that "she certainly had a rich life that has gone in many directions.”

That rich life, of course, includes a sex tape with former flame Stephen Zawelski and five years of probation in the late 1980s for her involvement in an extortion case. Referring to Danielle's relationship with the rest of the cast, Cohen said:

“Frankly, I don’t think any the women believe half or a third or a fifth of what she says... They ain’t having dinner any time soon! They ain’t having dinner ever!"

A Republican strategist who is now representing The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub says she has not ruled out running for U.S. Congress.

According to Garden State political insiders, Staub is mulling a bid to challenge U.S. Rep Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson), in the November 2010 election.

"At this point Ms. Staub is fielding numerous offers and has ruled out nothing," Thomas Ammirato said. "Her advisors will be discussing her future shortly."

Ammirato, who does political PR work, says he threw out that very possibility to Danielle Staub, but probably doesn't expect to see her on any ticket.

"I don't see that happening," Ammirato told the Newark Star-Ledger. "It would be the longest of political longshots ... unless there's a huge groundswell."

Well, The Real Housewives of New Jersey does get high ratings ...

Before you write Danielle off and say she is "completely unqualified to run for office" in New Jersey, consider that she already has a criminal record, so she's got that going for her. Her hobbies include lying, gossip and sex in public.

Check, check and check!

Besides, after Ashley Dupre, Rielle Hunter and now Maria Belen Shapur, how bad could Steve Zalewski possibly hurt her? And come on, as if people running for office in this country haven't been labeled much worse than "prostitution whore."

The one potential snag for Danielle Staub? No, not her sex tape, which she blocked in court yesterday. She isn't even registered to vote in New Jersey.

Neither is Beverly Merrill, for that matter.

Score one for Danielle Staub.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has temporarily stopped her ex-boyfriend Steve Zalewski from releasing a sex tape he supposedly has of them.

Wednesday, a judge ordered an injunction banning the release of sexually explicit footage featuring the troubled Staub, 46, and the shady Zalewski, 27.

Her attorney, Darren Del Sardo, said in a statement:

"We went to court in order to prohibit distribution of any tape or photograph and to temporarily restrain him from doing that, and we were successful."

The Danielle Staub sex tape was completely "unauthorized" and was "taken with his cellphone," according to the embattled prostitution whore.

HIT HOUSEWIVES: Bravo's latest band of rich nut jobs has hit the big time as Danielle and the wives make the cover of Jon and Kate Gosselin Weekly ... er, Us Weekly.

The sworn enemy of Teresa Giudice and Caroline Manzo, Staub has confronted one huge scandal after another since The Real Housewives of New Jersey debuted.

Staub - who was present at court Wednesday - has filed a lawsuit against Steve Zalewski, claiming that he is trying to get back at her after she dumped him.

Danielle Staub, whose coke whore past was revealed in great detail earlier, is accusing him invasion of privacy, defamation and infliction of emotional distress.

The most hated woman in the Garden State was allegedly involved in a kidnapping plot that grew out of a botched cocaine deal, and worked as an escort.

If The Real Housewives of New Jersey's table-flipping finale and the show's subsequent reunion special didn't satisfy your Danielle Staub fix, this ought to.

The Smoking Gun has unearthed a 26-page manifesto on Staub's 1986 arrest, which was mentioned in Kevin Maher's 1995 memoir, Cop Without A Badge.

Also known as "THE BOOK."

Some of the highlights shedding new light on Staub's coke-whore past:

• When Danielle Staub was living in Miami in 1986, she worked as an escort and went by Angela Minelli. One of Danielle's johns was Daniel Claudio Aguilar.
• Daniel, of course, was a major cocaine dealer for the Colombian drug cartels. In June of that year, Daniel sold two kilos of coke for $48,000 to some guys.
• Danielle's neighbor, Carmen Centolella, brokered the deal. Before the deal was final, Daniel sent Danielle to Carmen's pad with a kilo of coke for "testing."
• The dudes who were going to buy the coke turned on Danielle, stole the drugs and took off. Daniel blamed Carmen, beat his ass and held him for ransom.
• Danielle Staub was in on the kidnapping and made several calls to Carmen's father demanding $25,000 for his son's life. Carmen's dad called the FBI.
• They traced calls back to Daniel's apartment and they found Danielle. 

• They arrested Danielle Staub and confiscated $16,000 cash and six kilos of coke.
• They also busted Daniel. To save herself, Danielle turned on Daniel and agreed to work with prosecutors. She pleaded guilty to one count of extortion.
• When Danielle Staub got out of jail, she received several threatening phone calls. One from a lady who said, "Your life is at an end, honey." Danielle and the authorities both believed the threats were coming from Daniel's people.
• Danielle's apartment was also broken into several times. During Daniel's trial, his lawyers pained Danielle as a prostitution whore. So to speak.
• Daniel was found guilty and sent to prison. He got out in 1994.
• When Danielle came off of probation in 1988, a doctor asked the court to keep her in a rehab program due to her drug history and lifestyle.

Wow. Combine all this with offering oral sex to random strangers and you wonder why Teresa Giudice and Caroline Manzo don't wanna be associated with her.
