Hillary Clinton will not be the next President of the United States.

But in fulfilling her season-long promise as Dancing with the Stars favorite - and declaring before last night's results were announced that " I want to defy the odds... We need some girl power out there." - Kristi Yamaguchi became the second female to ever win this competition.

Season-one champion and General Hospital star Kelly Monaco must be proud.

Kristi Wins!

Also similar to Clinton's fantasies of defeating John McCain and Barack Obama, Yamaguchi overcome a pair of men last night. She earned more votes than runner-up Jason Taylor and third-place finisher Cristian de la Fuente.

Congrats, Kristi!

Four couples remained on Dancing with the Stars last night - and somehow Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani were one of them.

As you ponder that development, here's a quick look at the composite score of the remaining tandems from their latest two performances:

  • Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska: 56/60
  • Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani: 52/60
  • Cristián de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke: 56/60

Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas have been the favorites all season long on Dancing with the Stars. Think they should win?

A week ago, Cristian de la Fuente  was in the hospital. Now, he and partner Cheryl Burke are in first place on Dancing with the Stars.

Following a combined score of 57 (out of a possible 60) for their tango and mambo, this pair took over the overall points lead on season six of the show. de la Fuente summed up his effort with a simple: "No pain, no mirror-ball trophy."

de la Fuente and Burke

As for the other performances...

  • Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas: 55/60 (quickstep and samba)
  • Mario and Karina Smirnoff: 53/60 (Viennese waltz and jive)
  • Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani: 50/50 (foxtrot and mambo)
  • Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska: 52/60 (tango and samba)

Who was your favorite on the night? Who do you wanna see win Dancing with the Stars?

For a change, the lead story following an evening of Dancing with the Stars was not the impressive routine of Kristi Yamaguchi.

Instead, Chilean soap opera star Cristian de la Fuente stole the show... or at least got injured on the show. He was sent to the hospital after suffering a severe muscle cramp in his arm during a Samba routine.

"It hurts," de la Fuente told cohost Samantha Harris backstage, holding an ice pack to his left forearm. "It hurts the arm and it hurts that I couldn't do it, you know, it's tough."

Cheryl Burke, Cristián de la Fuente

Partner Cheryl Burke could tell there was a problem:

"When we were dancing I fell back into his arms and I heard something crack. I am so worried. He is not a wuss. He tried to finish the dance," she said.

The judges gave the couple straight 7's (for a total of 21 out of a possible 30 points) for their performance, while the general consensus was actually that NFL star Jason Taylor put on the best routine of the evening, Quickstepping his way to a 29.

A disappointing mambo sent Marlee Matlin and partner Fabian Sanchez packing this week on Dancing with the Stars. But the results couldn't shake the enthusiasm from the Oscar-winning actress!

"I'll keep dancing forever. Wherever the music is, I'm dancing!" she said through a sign language interpreter.

Marlee Says Goodbye

Sanchez, meanwhile, was just sad that he had to bid farewell to a new friend. But he assured fans he and Matlin would remain BFF along the lines of Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux (minus the homemade videos, we presume).

"We would go to get lunch together, goof around and play jokes on each other," Fabian said. "I'll always remember every single day. And I just hope that were going to continue to be friends forever."

And you thought the inevitable David Cook vs. David Archuleta showdown on American Idol would remove all drama from that show.

It's nothing compared with the rumba (and cha cha, and paso doble) to victory that Kristi Yamaguchi is enjoying on Dancing with the Stars. Her lead simply grew after last night's performance. Let's quickly review all the scores...

Marlee Matlin and Fabian Sanchez: 21
Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska: 24
Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough: 24
Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke: 27
Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani: 27
Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas: 30, the highest possible score.
Mario (pictured, shirtless) and Karina Smirnoff: 28, along with an exclamation from Carrie Ann Inaba: "That was better than good sex!"*

Not only did Krisi Yamaguchi (and Mark Ballas) put up the the highest score yet again on Dancing with the Stars, but the former Gold Medal-winning ice skater looked mighty fine while doing it. Take a look at he photo below if you don't believe us.

As for an overall recap of the couples and their marks...

Mario and Karina Smirnoff: 27
Priscilla Presley and Louis Van Amstel: 21
Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani: 24
Cristián de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke: 23

Adam Carolla admits he's "somewhat relieved" to have been voted off Dancing with the Stars last night, which should come as little surprise to those that figured he was doing the program solely to promote his movie The Hammer.

However, the comedian added that he feels bad about letting insanely gorgeous partner Julianne Hough down, he told Us Weekly after the results were announced.

Dancing No More

Does he think the unicycle, which was incorporated into his paso doble dance routine Monday night, spelled the end?

"I don't know," Carolla said. "I know that judges are not fans of what they call ‘props,' but I think that most props are thought of as crutches, and I thought that the unicycle was hardly a fake set a bull horns."

As for Hough, she's as diplomatic as she is beautiful:

"He has improved so much," she said of her partner. "And if he would have stayed on, he would have been so good!"

As you'll be able to gather from the following Dancing with the Stars photos, it was an evening of talented routines on the show last night.

But it was also a night of unusual activity.

For example, Cristian de la Fuente delivered the drama, punctuating his paso doble with deep-throated grunts. Did you also notice the skin of Cristian and partner Cheryl Burke? How coule you not? Let's take a look:

Feeling Hot!

Other looks and events that stood out from last night's Dancing with the Stars:

• Adam Carolla (pictured, below), his painted-on mustache, cape and mask. But even all that wasn't what put The Hammer star over the top. That would be what the unicycle did! Even before his paso doble began, Carolla â€" in full costume â€" was pedaling laps around partner Julianne Hough. Strange. Sort of funny.

• Jason Taylor took a field trip to a Medieval Times dinner theater, where he learned how to be more chivalrous toward partner Edyta Sliwinska. He also wore a tunic. Wonder how Taylor's Miami Dolphins teammates reacted to that.

Dancing with the Stars Quotes

We should have started dancing with one arm waaay before.

Cristian de la Fuente [following his injury, trip to the hospital and subsequent stellar performance]

I am not the best dancer, and I have not been the best dancer from the beginning. I am happy we made it this far.
