Susan Boyle Performs "Unchained Melody" on Dancing with the Stars

While Julianne Hough returned to Dancing with the Stars last night and jived her way into our hearts, Susan Boyle took the opposite approach.

The mega talented singer simply stood at the microphone during the competition's latest results show and belted out a version of "Unchained Melody." Look for the track to be included on Boyle's new album, "To Watch Over Me," which comes out on November 1.

Boyle is using the reality TV platform in general to promote the CD. Last month, she performed "You Have To Be There" on America's Got Talent.

Julianne Hough Returns, Cuts Footloose on Dancing With the Stars!

Last night's Dancing With the Stars results show saw the end of Chynna Phillips' journey on the ABC program. She could not, pardon the pun, hold on for one more day.

On a more uplifting note, former DWTS pro Julianne Hough returned to the show that launched her career, performing two numbers to promote her new film Footloose.

Julianne danced to “Holding Out for a Hero” with co-star Kenny Wormald, then jived with her brother, current DWTS pro Derek Hough on “Shake Your Tail Feather.”

There's certainly been a void since Julianne left the show, and we're not talking about her gorgeousness (not entirely anyway). Girl can move it! Watch her below:

Dancing With the Stars Results: Who Held On For One More Week?

Plenty of stars delivered strong routines on Dancing With the Stars Monday night. Chaz Bono was one of them. Chynna Phillips and Nancy Grace were not among them.

While you never know going into the results show, it seemed semi-clear who had a better path to safety than others. And it turned out our intuitions were correct.

When the audience's votes were factored in along with the scores, Chaz was safe. As was Rob Kardashian, who was inexplicably in the bottom three, but survived.

Week after week, it's anyone's game. One slip and you're gone.

So who got the chop among the top nine competitors when the week's results were unveiled? Who is safe to tango their way into our hearts another week?

Carson Kressley had the lowest score of the week, with Grace and Chynna close behind. One of the three is sitting on the sidelines right now. But which one?

Ricki Lake: Dancing With the Stars' Gold Standard

One point. That's all that separated Ricki Lake from perfection last night.

Taking over the top spot for the second straight week on Dancing With the Stars, Lake bested her nearest competitor, J.R. Martinez, by three whole points.

Say what you will about her Hairspray background, it takes quite a display to execute a near-flawless tango to the music from ... Psycho. Ricki did just that.

Clad in black along with partner Derek Hough, Lake showed some astounding body control, precise steps and the perfect level of emotion for the routine.

Watch her performance here and tell us if you think she'll win it all:

J.R. Martinez on DWTS: Pink Panther Style!

Given his personal history, J.R. Martinez couldn't possibly top last week's ode to fallen servicemen and women on Dancing With the Stars. But his Pink Panther-themed tango - perfectly attuned to breast cancer awareness month - was still terrific.

Even if he weren't a good dancer (and he is), he'd be a joy to watch.

Every waking moment he leads by example, illustrating with his scarred face and body that it's possible to move beyond the doubt, despair and depression and reclaim a meaningful existence, his story becomes more remarkable.

Here's his performance last night, good enough for second place:

Chaz Bono Makes Like Rocky, Cher Moved to Tears on Dancing With the Stars

After weeks of hype, legendary singer/actress Cher was on hand to watch Dancing With the Stars in person Monday, generating major buzz in the audience and backstage.

Not that Chaz Bono noticed.

The controversial contestant, the first transgendered competitor in DWTS' 13 seasons, tried to tune out his mom - and stepmother Mary Bono, who was also there.

“I try to just focus on [Lacey Schwimmer] and what we’re doing,” said Bono, whose Rocky themed paso doble earned a standing ovation from his teary-eyed mother.

At the same time, ”It was a great night. It was so nice to have everyone here. It pumped me up. I know my mom was really proud of me and that was awesome.”

His performance wasn’t bad, either. Watch it, plus an interview with him, below:

Rob Kardashian Meets Clark Kent on DWTS

Newly-minted contender and fan favorite Rob Kardashian channeled Superman last night for his movie-themed paso doble routine on Dancing With the Stars.

Bold move, likening one's self to the Man of Steel. But Rob delivered.

With Cheryl Burke as his Lois Lane, the judges were quite pleased ... words that had never before been spoken about a Kardashian on this show. Sorry Kim.

Bruno said it's time for Rob "to leave Smallville and take on the world." With the CW hit now a thing of the last, perhaps Roberto is ready to carry the mantle.

His performance earned a solid 24 points, putting him in a tie for third behind only Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez. Watch the super routine right here:

Nancy Grace on Dancing With the Stars: Weaksauce!

Whether she's bashing Amanda Knox or treating fans to a full-on nipple slip on Dancing With the Stars, Nancy Grace certainly knows how to get people talking.

The question is whether any of that talk will be positive.

Grace tried to up her game last night, but still ended up at the bottom of the Dancing With the Stars scores. She lacked drama. Passion. Excitement. Emotion.

If she could move her body the way she runs her mouth, she would be a tough competitor on this show. On the plus side, at least she didn't fart live this week.

Watch Grace get manhandled by Tristan MacManus and wind up lying flat on her back (a visual you know you've been dreaming about) in the clip below ...

Dancing With the Stars Recap: Ricki Lake is (Nearly) Perfect; Cher Cheers on Chaz

An episode centered around movie themes was obviously going to mean a few eye-rollers - DWTS is not a serious competition, Carrie Ann reminded us.

Nevertheless, Ricki Lake's tango was sublimely top-notch, set to the Psycho theme that ending with her partner, Derek Hough, stabbing her in silhouette.

It was really good, despite how hokey we made it sound. We can't do it justice and the 10's she got from Carrie Ann and Bruno are proof positive of that!

Len? He held out, giving them a 9 for a 29 overall.

Last week's leader, J.R. Martinez, was smooth doing the fox-trot, earning 26 points for outright second place in spite of dressing up in hot pink Monday night.

For The Pink Panther theme, obviously. Gotta love DWTS.

Hope Solo, who has been a bit a dull this fall (save for her nude ESPN magazine cover), impressed the judges for the first time and scored a strong 24 total.

Ditto Rob Kardashian, who continued to improve with a Superman-themed paso doble and cemented his place as - dare we say it - one of the favorites now?

After those four, it was a logjam on the leaderboard.

Cheryl Burke: Stunned By Kristin Cavallari Ouster, Proud of Rob Kardashian

Last week's elimination on Dancing with the Stars was shocking for Cheryl Burke, who says she knows she and Rob Kardashian have to work that much harder now.

"It should not have happened," she said of Kristin Cavallari being sent packing.

"I believed Kristin and Mark were going to last for the long haul, so it's really scary because it doesn't matter what score you get - you could be the one eliminated."

Rob and Cheryl

Cheryl says she's proud of her partner and that his best days lie ahead.

"I think that Rob really came out of his shell [last] week, and he stands out because people didn't have high expectations for him," Burke told People.

"Every week he's showing that he cares about this competition and he's improving. He's super competitive and wants to do well. I think he's turning his reputation around, and people are really starting to like him and root for him."

The attitude adjustment is more key than you think. In a season where fan support and charisma may mean more than ever, it could carry him far.

DWTS returns tonight. Who do you think will win this season?

Chaz Bono
Hope Solo
Nancy Grace
Ricki Lake
J.R. Martinez
Chynna Phillips
Carson Kressley
Rob Kardashian
