Brooke Burke-Charvet may be gone from Dancing with the Stars.

But the ABC competition just managed to make itself even hotter for Season 18.

That's because Erin Andrews has been tapped to replace Burke-Charvet, who was dumped late last week by the network in a surprising move.

Stunning Erin Andrews
Erin Andrews is absolutely stunning, and a darn good sports reporter to boot.

Burke-Charvet was gracious but shocked by the decision in a statement, saying of her time on the series:

"I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom, but this one takes the cake."

Andrews, of course, teamed with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on Season 10 and has been working as a FOX Sports reporter since August.

ABC is yet to comment on her hiring, but allow us to do so now: NICE MOVE!

Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be by Tom Bergeron's side on Dancing With the Stars in 2014, and it was not the co-host's choice to bid the show farewell.

The 42-year-old confirmed her abrupt, surprising departure Friday.

Brooke and Tom

"I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture," she said in a statement.

Putting a positive spin on it as best she can, Brooke Burke says:

"I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations."

But in an appropriately-worded parting shot, she adds, "I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake."

Sources tell E! that Burke-Charvet had no idea her job was on the line until ABC apparently informed her Friday afternoon she wouldn't be returning.

Bruce Jenner is in talks to join Season 18 of Dancing With the Stars this spring, according to reports, and the 64-year-old Olympian is more than game.

"He's dying to do it," an insider says. "The show is close to locking him in."

The show has yet to announce any cast members for 2014. No word if the alleged Bruce Jenner sex change operation could torpedo his plans to tango.

Jenner is familiar with the ballroom, at least as an audience member.

The star previously cheered on stepdaughter Kim Kardashian and stepson Rob Kardashian, both of whom have competed on the program. Well, Rob did.

The younger Kardashian survived 10 weeks in 2011 and showed some real talent. Kim? Well, her talents are on display in the Kim Kardashian sex tape.

"He would have fun with it," Rob told Us of Bruce's chance to dance.

Bruce would surely have support from the crowd if he were to sign on, and given his newfound freedom and adventurous spirit, we're guessing he will.

Should Bruce go Dancing With the Stars?

Should he get a sex change operation?

For the three remaining Dancing With the Stars competitors, it's all come down to this. The guts, the glitter and the glory were all on the line Tuesday.

With Bill Engvall finally eliminated the night before, Corbin Bleu, Amber Riley and Jack Osbourne comprised the only stars left in the ABC competition.

Jack came in as the underdog, with Corbin and Amber both in strong position to claim the crown. How did the Dancing With the Stars results shake out?

  • Amber Riley and Derek Hough
  • Corbin and Karina
  • Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke

The winning duo were the only ones who scored a perfect 30 in their final dance, a samba-quickstep combo that Len Goodman called "bedazzling."

The other two pairs scored all nines, for 27 apiece.

As predicted, Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke finished third, leaving Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff and Amber Riley and Derek Hough to duke it out.

So which one of the pairs claimed the Mirror Ball?

For the remaining Dancing With the Stars competitors, it's come down to this. One final week of ballroom madness and four celebs still in the hunt for the title.

After 10 weeks of pain, progress, paso dobles and stunning Dancing with the Stars results, it's Corbin Bleu, Jack Osbourne, Bill Engvall and Amber Riley.

Those four had one last chance to wow the judges on Monday with three routines: one judges' pick, one samba relay and the always-popular freestyle.

One star was eliminated at the end of the show, while three remaining couples will perform a fusion dance before a winner is crowned on Tuesday night.

So who's in and who's out?

  • Corbin and Karina
  • Amber Riley and Derek Hough
  • Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
  • Bill Engvall Photo

Amber Riley, after two 30s, was announced as moving to the finale. No surprise there. Ditto Corbin Bleu. So it came down to Jack and Bill Monday night.

At the end of the episode, Engvall and partner Emma Slater ended up with the lowest score. But did the fans save them as they have in weeks past?

After one shocking Dancing With the Stars results show after another throughout the fall, the final four for Season 17 of the hit ABC show are set.

The 10th week of competition saw the five remaining celebs and their professional partners dancing for once again survival, with two routines apiece.

Following their “Plugged/Unplugged” semifinal performances, judged by Maksim Chmerkovskiy, one of Dancing With the Stars‘ top five couples is out.

Who's done, and who will sashay for the Mirror Ball title next week?

Leah Remini has been eliminated from the ballroom. "I have to thank Tony," Remini said of her partner. "I have to thank everyone here, especially Tony."

"This was an incredible experience and if every season will be like this, I'll live a long life," Dovolani said, despite the obvious disappointment.

Bill Engvall was spared, amazingly, once again last night.

Here's a rundown of the scores from last night's show:

Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom as a guest judge for Monday's semifinals, according to reports.

Yes, he will be handing out the scores instead of complaining about them.

The DWTS pro will be three alongside regular judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for the show's first-ever "plugged / unplugged" night.

Chmerkovskiy, who appeared on Broadway in "Forever Tango" and heads up six dance studios in the New York area, was long a fixture on DWTS.

He said he was always open to returning one day, so it was not a bitter parting of ways. "I never walked away, or said 'I'm never coming back,'" he said.

Elizabeth Berkley was robbed on the Dancing With the Stars results show last night. Like Christina Milian and Snooki before her, only much worse.

So it goes. Fair or not, only five celebrities remain, and it looks like Corbin Bleu is in the driver's seat after a routine last night that was one of the best ever.

Corbin looked like the professional, particularly in the trio dance. The judges compared him to Bob Fosse, which may be excessive, but tells you a lot.

Take a look at his routine that earned the perfect score of 30:

He did have dancing experience prior to Dancing With the Stars, of course, but so did Berkley and you can see how far that got her. Votes are votes.

Bleu will likely get them. Amber Riley should as well. That means, somehow, that Leah Remini, Bill Engvall or Jack Osbourne will make the finals.

So it goes. While it's too bad Elizabeth, Christina and Snook aren't around to vie for the Mirror Ball and showcase their talents, vote in our poll:

Who do you think should win DWTS Season 17?

After the last several Dancing With the Stars results shows have ended on a surprising notes this week had to fall in line with expectations ... right?

The ninth week of competition saw the six remaining celebs and their professional partners dancing for once again survival, with two routines apiece.

Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff, Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke, Amber Riley and Derek Hough, and Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani were declared safe.

That meant Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Bill Engvall and Emma Slater were in jeopardy. Bill and Emma prepared for the inevitable.

As Emma wiped the tears away ... Elizabeth and Val were eliminated!

The crowd cheered as the judges shook their heads at the result.

Yes, Berkley joins Snooki and Christina Milian as celebrities ousted far too soon, only this may go down as the biggest shocker in show history.

Brooke Burke-Charvet was almost speechless before asking Elizabeth how she was feeling. The judges even called her THE TOP dancer this fall.

Here's a rundown of the scores from last night's show:

After the last two Dancing With the Stars results shows ended with major elimination shocker, this week had to fall more in line with expectations ... right?

The eighth week of competition saw the seven remaining celebs and their professional partners dancing their hearts out for survival. So who was in jeopardy?

At the bottom of the heap this week - or at least in the red light of doom - were Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd and Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke.

Yes, Bill Engvall survived again. The celeb going home on DWTS is ...

Brant Daugherty. Arguably the least-known celebrity before the season started, Brant now joins Snooki and Christina Milian as stars who left too soon.

He was fun to watch, with plenty of charisma to go around, but was mired in the middle of the pack without a breakout week or that strong emotional pull.

Brant’s been stuck where he has the star power but not the refinement, the judges said, yet he still had one of the better scores on last night's show:
