Sunday night's Super Bowl XLVIII result was certainly a joke, but was it rigged? The online conspiracy theorists are swarming following the lopsided outcome.

The Seattle Seahawks didn't just beat the Denver Broncos, they absolutely demolished them in every conceivable facet of the NFL championship game.

It was not as close as the score suggests ... and the score was 43-8.

Obviously, this has given way to the obligatory chatter that the Super Bowl was rigged, and Huzlers, site with an Onion-like penchant for satire, fueled the fire.

Huzlers posted a “breaking” story this week with the headline “Super Bowl XLVIII Believed to Have Been Rigged and Currently Under Investigation by NFL.”

Because few people know what Huzlers is, people believed this.

The story claimed NFL officials “found clues that might prove the game was rigged" and imply Denver "lost the championship in exchange for a large amount of money.”

A Jay-Z look-alike in a photo dated 1939 has surfaced, breathing new life into conspiracy theories about the rapper and his alleged ties to the Illuminati.

The photograph of a Harlem man was dredged up by a New York Public Library digital curator and quickly went viral due to his similarities to the rapper:

1939 Jay-Z Look-Alike

The image, titled “Harlem Loiterers," shows the Jay-Z look-alike in a pea coat and newsboy cap, slouched against the front railing of a building.

The New York Public Library confirmed the photo’s authenticity and said that it was taken by an American photographer named Sid Grossman in 1939.

In a post on the library’s Tumblr, Sylviane A. Diouf, curator of the organization's digital archives, said the Jay-Z likeness was the first thing she noticed:

Sarah Cook, an ardent supporter of the Free Dzhokhar Tsarnaev movement, explained Monday why the accused terrorist is, like, totally innocent.

Her comments, claims, excuses and rationalizations on TMZ Live must be heard to be believed ... and even then you might not believe them.

Cook, one of MANY teenage girls devoted to proving Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's "innocence" online, fervently believes the Boston bombing suspect is innocent.

How could she possibly think that?

Well, for one, the "mainstream media" is distorting the facts. Plus he was unarmed in that boat, and trying to profess his innocence to cops (yeah right).

And the best argument of all?

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has a growing fan base on Tumblr apparently.

Up until last week, "One Direction Infection" was a Tumblr blog created and maintained by an eighth grader devoted to the British boy band heart throbs.

Now, it's devoted to the Boston Marathon bombing suspect.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Tumblr

Jahar, as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's friends and Twitter followers call him, has amassed a pretty huge following for a man charged with terrorism and WMD use.

He has his own hashtag, #FreeJahar, on Twitter, while thousands of Tumblr and Facebook fans closely follow his case and discuss his "innocence."

Beyond the boilerplate Boston bombing conspiracy theories that claim he's the fall guy or the whole thing is a hoax, there are other reasons for his appeal.

Glenn Beck sparked controversy this week by alleging a conspiracy and cover up may have taken place regarding the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings.

His Boston Marathon bombing conspiracy does not suggest the whole thing was staged by actors (some believe this), but rests upon this belief:

There is more to the initial Saudi national suspect than we're being told, and the U.S. government may be hiding his involvement in this or other terrorist acts.

Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, a Saudi national, was cleared of involvement in the bombings after briefly being detained in the aftermath of the blast.

It was discovered that his visa to stay in the U.S. had expired, however, and he may soon be deported. Beck is challenging why, for a variety of reasons.

Here we go again.

It's been a week since the Boston bombings killed three people and injured 170-plus, and with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in custody, the city can begin to heal.

Not that there's anything to actually heal, or move past, according to the obligatory conspiracy theorists who insist the entire thing is a hoax. Seriously.

Among many pieces of "evidence" cited by skeptics? The photos of victims - or alleged actors, depending on what you believe on message boards.

"If you loose both legs from explosive trauma half your blood is gone in one minute via the femoral arteries, you're dead after two," writes one theorist.

Who is the mystery man on the roof? That's what Twitter and Boston bombing conspiracy theorists want to know in the wake of yesterday's explosions.

  • Mystery Man on Roof
  • Mystery Man on the Roof

A photo credited to Suffolk University junior Dan Lampariello shows the instant of two Boston Marathon bombings that occurred near the finish line Monday.

The photo, and with it Mystery Man on Roof, went viral.

Lampariello told ABC News Monday "I was about 200 feet from the finish line ... right in front of the Mandarin Hotel. My aunt was running in the marathon."

"We were out there to cheer her on. We thought maybe it was fireworks at first, but when we saw the second explosion we knew something was wrong."

Among the crazier rumors (or is it?!) slash burning questions to emerge from Super Bowl XLVII: Did Beyonce flash the Illuminati sign during her halftime show?

Also ... what the heck are the Illuminati?

Beyonce Illuminati

According to legend, it's this super-tiny, super-secret group of influential individuals who single-handedly shape and alter the course of world events.

Eerie, we know. Makes ya think.

Naturally, the New World Order conspiracy theorists are having a field day with Beyonce halftime show as a result ... but it begs one very big question:

Conspiracy theories surrounding the Newtown, Conn., shooting reached a new level this week after a viral video exploded online. But is there anything to it?

According to experts, the much-hyped Sandy Hook conspiracy video, entitled The Sandy Hook Shooting - Fully Exposed, offers little but questions and what-ifs.

The video, posted on YouTube channel ThinkOutsideTheTV nine days ago, primarily uses news clips to expose "inconsistencies" in Sandy Hook coverage.

It has been viewed 8.6 million times and counting.

The video opens with a disclaimer, stating it is not claiming Newtown didn't happen, claiming "This is a simple, logical video" created with "just facts."

The only problem? Its "facts" are hard to come by.

It only took a matter of days after Adam Lanza opened fire inside Sandy Hook Elementary School for conspiracy theories to pop up on the Internet.

The Sandy Hook Shooting - Fully Exposed, a self-produced mini-documentary, has rapidly make the leap from obscurity to viral success. Here it is:

Many Sandy Hook conspiracy theories have popped up since the attack. Most are totally preposterous; all spurred by questioning authority and the media.
