Before The Voice Top 3 performed for the last time Monday, the NBC show kicked off its finale with a tribute to the victims of Friday's Connecticut school shooting tragedy.

Coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine were joined by ALL the Season 3 contestants for a stirring rendition of "Hallelujah."

Leonard Cohen's song, also popularized by Jeff Buckley's amazing cover, is emotional on an average day. In the wake of the Newtown shooting? Amazingly so.

As the fab four sang lead, their proteges provided backing vocals and all held name cards of the victims and their ages. Watch the moving video below:

OneRepublic is doing all it can to help the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre.

On Saturday, the band launched a fundraiser to benefit those affected by the inexplicable actions of Adam Lanza.

"After tragedies like this, there are all kinds of things people want to do," Ryan Tedder says in the following video, adding:

"We want to help - with prayers, concerts, charities, there's all these events and productions and things that can take place over the next few months that may or may not come to pass, but the one thing that we can do immediately is donate money to these families."

OneRepublic has already raised $55,000 for the cause. Visit the group's fundraiser page for more and watch this video:

For the third time this week, a movie studio has canceled a red carpet event out of respect for the victims of the Connecticut school shooting in Newtown.

Following the elimination of the Jack Reacher premiere and the opening of Parental Guidance, we've now learned that there will be no Hollywood premiere for Quentan Tarantino's latest, Django Unchained.

Said the Weinstein Company in a statement:

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, and in this time of national mourning we have decided to forgo our scheduled event."

Django Unchained opens on Christmas Day and stars Jaime Foxx as a recently-freed slave who teams up with a bounty hunter to on a killing spree and rescue his wife.

It also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz.

The National Rifle Association's Facebook page isn't accessible, and its Twitter account is radio silent three days after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

NRA Logo

Only a Facebook page for the NRA blog remains posted. The last item shared at 6:30 a.m. Friday (before the school shootings) was about the "Friends of NRA" TV show.

On Twitter, Friday was also the last day the NRA tweeted, at 6:36 a.m.: "10 Days of NRA Giveaways — Enter today for a chance to win an auto emergency tool!"

In the wake of Friday's Connecticut school shooting, a U.S. Senator says she plans to propose an assault weapons ban on the first day of Congress' new session in 2013.

President Obama's Newtown speech Sunday night promised strong action to prevent further tragedies, but steered clear of specifics in that particular setting.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) was more direct.

"I'm going to introduce in the Senate, and the same bill will be introduced in the House - a bill to ban assault weapons," Feinstein said on NBC's Meet the Press.

The sickening murder of 26 children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School by Adam Lanza has rekindled a familiar, national gun control debate.

Plenty of fingers have been and will continue to be pointed in the aftermath of the Connecticut school shooting, but could Adam Lanza's parents have ever seen this coming?

Their 2008 divorce papers reveal nothing that would indicate their son had serious mental issues, however, there may have been some warning signs.

A mediator who worked with the couple recalled his mother saying she didn't like to leave him alone and that his parents went out of their way to accommodate him.

Marriage therapist Paula Levy said that during about 10 two-hour sessions, Nancy and Peter Lanza were respectful of each other and concerned about their son.

The hacker network Anonymous has released what it claims to be a cache of personal details on the members of the extremist Westboro Baptist Church.

This after after church said it planned to picket Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The scene of a mass shooting where 26 children and adults died Friday would seem an unlikely spot for a protest ... for any other group of humans.

Westboro Baptist said it planned a demonstration at the Newtown, Conn., school, which apparently didn't sit well with supporters of Anonymous.

Itself a subversive community of activists and trolls of a different sort, the "hacktivist" group appears to have taken down the church extremists' website.

Victor Cruz of the New York Giants was surprised and touched to learn he was the hero of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victim Jack Pinto.

Pinto, who died Friday, used to wear Cruz's jersey during Giants games.

On Sunday, Cruz returned the favor in a way, writing Jack's name on his shoes for the team's game against the Falcons, who crushed New York 34-0.

Cruz was definitely a winner regardless of that result; after the game, he addressed the media and tried to make sense of the tragedy and his ties to it.

Former Saturday Night Live star and conservative activist Victoria Jackson has made a series of controversial comments in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School murders.

She harshly criticized President Barack Obama, which is hardly surprising, but her comments on killer Adam Lanza raised eyebrows - even by Jackson standards.

Jackson and Lanza

Of the Newtown, Conn., shooting, Jackson posted on Facebook, quoting a friend:

“Wasn’t the Connecticut killer just doing what abortionists do every day?"

"It’s a wonder we don’t have more 20-year-old 'dads' doing what women and doctors have been an accomplice to for years. When you forget the TEN COMMANDMENTS, THIS is what you get’.”
