Cher Goes Off on Mitt Romney, "Right Wing Racist Homophobic Women Hating Tea Bagger Masters"

Cher has never been one to mince words.

Still, it was a little surprising to see just her pummel presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney out of the blue via Twitter Tuesday, only to delete a couple of the more inflammatory Tweets hours later.

What did the iconic pop star and Oscar winner say?

Cher and Mitt

"If ROMNEY gets elected I don't know if I can breathe same air as Him & his Right Wing Racist Homophobic Women Hating Tea Bagger Masters," she Tweeted.

That remark by the 65-year-old attracted a variety of responses, many shocked, and some more profane and negative than others. Cher replied to one hater:

"Nice Mouth ! U learn that at Church, Gun Show,or how to press your Klan costume Klass?" (That, and the nasty tweet directed at her, are still up.)

To another user who called her an "atten.whore," Cher fired back, "Actually I'm Not & if u Dislike Me SO.. Get Off My Site it Cant B Fun 4 U !"

Another Cher tweet that disappeared, however, was this:

Cher: NOT Dead, Despite Twitter Hoax!

Cher is not dead. Not even a little bit.

The music legend, 65, became the latest notable name to fall victim to an Internet death hoax when “RIP Cher” became a Twitter trend late Thursday night.

The rumor apparently started when a user by the name @Lorraine_Star posted a BS tweet which was made to look like a re-tweet from CNN’s real account.

Plenty of regular people and idiot stars alike bought it.

The message, likely concocted just so people will re-tweet it, read: “RT @CNN: American recording artist Cher dies at 65 years old. Found dead in Malibu home.”

“Did I just hear Cher has passed away? Is this real? OMG,” Kim Kardashian tweeted, never one to sit back and not insert herself into anything trending.

Terrible matchmaker Patti Stanger of Millionaire Matchmaker fame was also quick to weigh in: “Is this for real? I don't see it anywhere. Can't be!”

Idiot Kim Tweet

Kim Kardashian is never one to refrain from Tweeting. Or use spellcheck.

While it's true that Cher hasn’t been active on her Twitter since January 22, her good friend, jewelry designer Loree Rodkin, set the record straight:

“Whoever started that stupid rumor needs to have their face dragged across concrete. It’s a hoax. She’s fine. She's so NOT dead. She's just a busy girl.”

Here's welcoming Cher - along with recent death hoax survivors Jackie Chan, Justin Bieber, Will Smith, Jim Carrey and Jon Bon Jovi - back from the fake dead!

Chaz Bono Makes Like Rocky, Cher Moved to Tears on Dancing With the Stars

After weeks of hype, legendary singer/actress Cher was on hand to watch Dancing With the Stars in person Monday, generating major buzz in the audience and backstage.

Not that Chaz Bono noticed.

The controversial contestant, the first transgendered competitor in DWTS' 13 seasons, tried to tune out his mom - and stepmother Mary Bono, who was also there.

“I try to just focus on [Lacey Schwimmer] and what we’re doing,” said Bono, whose Rocky themed paso doble earned a standing ovation from his teary-eyed mother.

At the same time, ”It was a great night. It was so nice to have everyone here. It pumped me up. I know my mom was really proud of me and that was awesome.”

His performance wasn’t bad, either. Watch it, plus an interview with him, below:

Chaz Bono and Ellen DeGeneres Decry Bullies; Cher Lashes Out at DWTS Haters Again

Chaz Bono stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show today to chat about competing on the new season of Dancing With the Stars, and the hurdles he's faced.

While he knew that, as the show's first transgendered star, some people would have a problem with him, he never expected the backlash to be this bad.

After he explained what it felt like to be in his shoes, Ellen was less diplomatic in pointing out the ridiculousness of those (cough, Dr. Keith Ablow) who are anti-Chaz:

Later in the interview, they received a phone call from his biggest fan - mother Cher, who didn't hesitate to lash out, like she has before, at the haters.

"If you got that excess time and that amount of hostility, I'm not sure I can say anything to you that would make you change your feelings," she said.

"I don't know that I would have any magic words to soothe you, to comfort you into not being terrified of my child on Dancing With the F--cking Stars."

How awesome is Cher?

She did admit that she's worried about one thing: Chaz's dance moves. "You doing this dance is about as scary as you making 'the change,'" she says.

Cher to Perform on Dancing With the Stars?

Will Cher perform on Dancing With the Stars this season? That's unclear, but she's made it clear she will be there at least once to support son Chaz Bono.

Sources connected with Cher and Chaz say the criticism over a transgender contestant has given the star even more resolve to stand behind her child.

Cher is not saying which day she'll show, or if she will sing on one of the results show, but has made it clear she will be in the audience "at least once."

Insiders say Cher's motive is not to drive votes for her son but simply to show support and make a statement against what she considers to be bigotry.

Last week, the proud mom took to Twitter to hit back at those who say Chaz - her only child with Sonny Bono - coming on the show is somehow wrong.

While there have been some harsh critics, Bono has the vocal support of partner Lacey Schwimmer, as well as co-stars Elisabetta Canalis and Kristin Cavallari.

Nice to see Cher showing support in person - would you expect otherwise?

Cher Slams Bigots, Rallies Support For Chaz Bono on Dancing With the Stars

Upset by the harsh criticism of Chaz Bono being cast on Dancing With the Stars, his famous mom is rallying to transgendered contestant's defense.

Cher, who fully backed Chaz's decision to become a man, offered overwhelming support of Chaz on Twitter and urged her followers to do the same, writing:

"Lovelies! Chaz is Being Viciously Attacked on Blogs & Message boards about being on DWTS! This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it."

"I support him no matter what he chooses 2do! God! will here always be haters! It took COURAGE 2 do dwts! TG Chaz has Unlimited supply."

Cher added: "Can u guys check out sites & give him your support ? BTW ...Mothers don't stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who fk with their children!"

"I Will bet the VAST MAJORITY of People will LOVE CHAZ on DWTS ! & it's took Fkg Guts 2! Chaz isn't exactly the "Gotta Dance Gotta Dance" kinda Guy."

Doesn't sound like he'll be the frontrunner based on his dance moves, according to his mom, but if she has anything to say about it, he'll win over fans.

For his part, Chaz appreciated Cher's words, responding:

"Thanks for all your support mom. The haters are just motivating me to work harder than ever and stay on DWTS as long as I possibly can."

Cher Turns Back Time in VMA Body Suit

Few fashion statements could realistically the thunder of Lady Gaga's meat dress at last night's MTV Video Music Awards, but Cher certainly tried her best.

Presenting Gaga with the Video of the Year honor, Cher graced the Nokia Theater stage in a bodysuit reminiscent of her "If I Could Turn Back Time" video.

That video was filmed in 1989. Cher is now 64 years old. Still, she rocks it pretty darn well. Seeing the music icon in this makes us ponder the obvious:

Cher: Would you hit it?

Oh yeah!
Oh no way!
