It was only a matter of time before The Hills and Gossip Girl collided.
These are two shows that generate far greater buzz than ratings, in large part because of their sexy casts. Now two of those stars are - OMG - texting!
Lauren Conrad and Chace Crawford apparently exchanged digits a while back, so they would be able to "stay in touch" whenever he was in L.A. Tight.
They say they're just friends, but E! Online says that "Man Bangs" always gets a text message from LC, like, whenever he's in town from en-why-cee.
Can a text message eventually lead to a booty call? We may never know. Only we definitely would, as cameras follow Lauren Conrad every single day.
A couple of swingin' singles, Drew Barrymore and Chace Crawford of Gossip Girl fame, are now dating, Perez Hilton is reporting this morning.

New York Magazine spotted Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford and celebridaughter Rumer Willis out partying together last Thursday night (they were also seen flirting up a storm at a party last December).
According to the publication, witnesses "were struck by how short and see-through her white dress was (not to mention the fact that she was wearing a black bra underneath). Oh, and chain-smoking... big time."
Wow, and we thought we knew Rumer Willis. She smokes! She wears black bras under white! She makes condom balloons and puts them in her mouth!

Prior to Casey Laine, Chace Crawford had been romantically linked to American Idol-winning country sensation Carrie Underwood, his co-star Leighton Meester, 30 Rock hottie Katrina Bowden, and former *NSync singer JC Chasez.
Is Laine, who is from Chace's hometown of Dallas, Tx., speaking out about her new relationship with the Gossip Girl star on her MySpace page?

Carrie Underwood isn't crying a river over her split from Chace Crawford.
"We broke up over text, so it's like 'peace out,'" Underwood said at the taping of American Idol's special, Idol Gives Back, in Hollywood Sunday.
"It was completely mutual, we're both fine," she added, saying they "have not talked in a while, but I mean, I don't dislike him. It's no big deal."
Their relationship "just didn't work," Carrie Underwood said, "and we both knew it didn't work and [there are] no hard feelings at all whatsoever."
Dating in the public eye is "difficult ... because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are," she said.
The Gossip Girl star and the American Idol champ just weren't meant to be.
Their split, which was finalized via text message (how mature) was said to happen because of their conflicting schedules, sources have said.
"They couldn't spend time together," a source said. "It was hard."
Indeed. In other news, Chace's sister, Candice Crawford, will be competing for the title of Miss USA this spring! Woo! We hope she takes the title.
It's been a rough few weeks for Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, who split with Carrie Underwood and endured online gossip about his sexuality.
Specifically, it was rumored that Chace and pal JC Chasez were lovers.
Lil' sis Candice Crawford says he's hanging in there though.
"He's doing okay through this whole ordeal," Candice said. "He was upset about the breakup. It's always hard when you lose a relationship."
Still, his sister added, don't expect to see Chace Crawford and the American Idol champ-turned country star moping around for long.
"Chace will get through it," Candice Crawford said. "We love Carrie, too. They're dolls and they'll both do well."

Candice Crawford is doing her best to distract her bummed-out brother. Next week, she'll compete in the Miss USA Pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - and Chace, 23, will be there in person to cheer her on.
"The whole family will be there rooting for me," Candice, a.k.a. Miss Missouri, said. "My mom made T-shirts and little pins for everyone."
To capture the crown April 11, Candice will have to impress judges such as Heather Mills, Joey Fatone, Rob Schneider and Christian Siriano.

Former NSYNC singer, JC Chasez, 31, debunked Internet rumors linking him to the Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, 22, on Kiss-FM 104.7 on Wednesday.
"For the record, we're both straight," Chasez said. "We're not dating."
JC Chasez â" who called Chace Crawford a "super nice guy" â" said he understands why people may think they're an item.
"The only time people usually see us together is in some type of photograph, so they just assume that it's like that," he said.
"If I'm dating a girl and I'm standing next to another girl, then I'm having an affair," Chasez added. "So now, since there hasn't been any of that smoke out there, if I'm hanging out with a guy, they're going to make up a rumor. It's just stupid."
Crawford and the Gossip Girl cast return with new episodes April 21.
