When Rachel Frederickson unveiled her 155-pound weight loss in just seven months on The Biggest Loser finale, jaws literally hit the floor. Or at least fell in that direction.

Jillian Michaels' reaction was priceless, while the 24-year-old's trainer, Dolvett Quince, admits he was as "shocked" by her appearance as the viewing populace.

"The first thing that went through my mind was, 'That's just too much,'" he said.

Rachel Frederickson tells People that perhaps she competed a little too hard, working out six hours a day in the three months leading up to her astonishing reveal.

"Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic in training to get to the finale," says the contestant, who won $250,000 on The Biggest Loser, and who also defends her actions.

Asked point blank whether she has an eating disorder or whether she is too skinny as a result of dropping to 105 lbs., Frederickson replies, "I am very, very healthy."

In the wake of The Biggest Loser's controversial finale last week, some critics are calling for the NBC show to alter its format, or be canceled altogether.

1. Set limits on how much contestants can lose. Those who deem Rachel Frederickson too skinny argue that she was allowed to go way, way too far.

Producers "should put measures into place to ensure [excessive weight loss] doesn't happen again," says crisis public relations specialist Jesse Derris.

The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper admits that he was as shocked as anyone when he saw Rachel Frederickson walk out during Tuesday's finale.

"I was stunned. That would be the word. I mean, we've never had a contestant come in at 105 lbs.," he says in an interview on the Rachael Ray Show.

Rachel Frederickson, 24, started the show at 260 lbs. Yes, 260.

When she left as a finalist three months ago to work on losing weight at home, she was 150 lbs. Between then and the finale, she lost 45 more.

It was the latter that shocked Jillian Michaels and her Biggest Loser trainer counterparts as much as it did longtime fans of the popular NBC competition.

"What people don't understand is, when the contestants leave to go home … they're in charge of themselves," says Harper, 48, of the show's process.

"So, I had not seen her until that night, and so when she walked out, I was just kind of like, whoa. And I’ve been on the show since the beginning, forever."

Whitney Thore, a blogger and radio producer, is out to prove that you can dance like a pro regardless of your size. It's an issue that's very personal to her.

Thorne was teaching at the Greensboro Dance Theatre by age 16, but quit dancing in college after she experienced inexplicable weight gain.

Unlike Rachel Frederickson, it wasn't just because Whitney let herself go.

"Unable to face my reflection, I failed out of dance class my first semester," Thore told The Huffington Post in an email, going on to explain what happened:

"By the time I had graduated college, been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, moved to Korea, and gained 200 pounds, I was finally able to dance socially."

Still, she "never dreamed I would take a class or perform publicly again."

But when Jared Pike, one of the hosts of the morning radio show Thore produces suggested that she make a "Fat Girl Dancing" video series, she agreed.

Despite criticism from The Biggest Loser viewers for losing too much weight, Rachel Frederickson says she did it in a healthy way and she's proud of it.

The 24-year-old was crowned The Biggest Loser winner Tuesday night after going from 260 pounds to 105 pounds, a stunning loss of 155 pounds.

That's 60 percent of her weight going in, and given her 5'5" height, Rachel Frederickson was criticized by many watching (and tweeting) for being anorexic.

She, however, is not paying attention to this.

Rachel insists that she makes "super healthy" choices, and eats no more than 1,600 calories a day that includes a combination of carbs, fat and protein.

"I worked out a ton," she said on a media conference call. "I followed the advice and supervision of the medical team at The Biggest Loser the entire journey."

"I'm extremely proud of the way I lost the weight," Rachel continued. "It's okay to have your own path and be different ... it's been pretty empowering."

Meanwhile, Biggest Loser trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper, who were noticeably stunned Tuesday, broke their silence on Rachel's weight loss.
