In December 2007, Jennifer Love Hewitt lashed out at critics that mocked her bathing suit-clad body. She admirably said at the time:

"To set the record straight, I'm not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image. A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn't make you beautiful."

True, inspirational words.

Now, in the latest issue of People, the actress says she wants to urge young women to not focus on their weight, saying:

"When I meet young girls, I'm always like, 'Just do me one favor.' Love what you look like right now – and remember I said it 10 years from now because it's the greatest gift I can give."

What a Bod!

That sounds nice and all, but Hewitt then refers to her own figure as "a work in progress" and adds: "In another eight months, it's going to be so much better than it is today...

"I'd want to have Gisele Bundchen's body. Even though she's tall and skinny, she does have curves... and I think that's hot. Halle Berry also is kind of amazing."

Isn't JLH sending a mixed message here? Should girls be happy with their bodies, or should they aspire to be like Gisele and Berry, easily two of the best looking women in the world?

Call us, Jennifer. Perhaps we can have dinner together and then discuss this issue over breakfast... if you know what we mean!

Ali Fedotowsky wants to "crash diet" after gaining a staggering 15 pounds during and after filming The Bachelorette, according to the new issue of Us Weekly.

Either it's a really slow week at Us Weekly, or Ali has an eating disorder and/or severely low self-esteem, because ... well, have you seen her? She's so cute!

Still, "They'd retape scenes, so all she did was eat and drink," a show insider explains. After the show wrapped, "she binged while unwinding with her family."

We're not sure what's more shocking, that Ali Fedotowsky thinks she needs to lose weight, or that they re-tape scenes on The Bachelorette ... no effing way.

We feel like we've been kicked in the stomach, then again in the groin.

Ali Fedotowsky on The Bachelorette, left, and two weeks ago. Do you think she really filled out that much? If anything, those supposed 15 pounds may look good on her.

According to the celebrity gossip tabloid, after she saw her fuller figure on the ABC series' premiere, the 25-year-old was inspired to get back into shape.

"It's been stressful watching herself," a source says of the Facebook ad rep. "She's a size 6 and not meant to be super tiny, but she wants to lose weight."

Her plan - Bachelorette spoilers alert! - a high protein diet of egg whites, calorie counting and daily runs. Not exactly anorexic/bulimic behavior, at least.

Still, is it necessary? Could the rumors that she's still single and picks no one on the season finale be playing a role in this somehow? We're quite curious.

"I'm not sure if she's lost anything yet," says the pal. "But she's trying!"

Yesterday, we spoke to celebrity trainer Nicky Holender. He made it clear that famous people are easy to whip into shape because all are accustomed to hard work and ready for more of it when it comes to losing weight.

All except the Kardashians, that is.

These talentless, lazy sisters have a triple-pronged approach to weight loss:

  1. Take QuickTrim.
  2. Rely on airbrushing.
  3. Hire a publicist to line their pockets with magazine cover cash.

The tabloids eat it up because consumers, for reasons that defy comprehension, think that Kim Kardashian or anyone in her family has any clue at all about healthy living. Just this week alone, these two cover stories are available on newsstands:

  • QuickTrim Bodies
  • Diet Experts

What sage words does Kim offer about losing weight? She tells Life & Style that it's important to east breakfast. STOP THE PRESSES!

Of course, it also helps to helps to get Botox injections; and Kardashian also says she tries to get as much protein as possible throughout the day.

Cristiano Ronaldo can probably help Kim with that.

Nicole Scherzinger may have won Dancing with the Stars, but no perfect score on any routine is as impressive as what Michael Ventrella accomplished this season on The Biggest Loser.

The contestant first weighed in at 526 pounds this season, eventually shedding more than any player in show history and finishing his run at 262 pounds. It was more than enough to make him champion.

“I thought there was a glitch in the matrix!” said th 31-year old from Chicago after he won the title. “I thought, ‘What is wrong with the monitor?’ I can’t believe this. I just proved no matter what it is, possibility or not, it can happen.”

This is Michael Ventrella BEFORE... and this is Michael Ventrella AFTER. Wow.

Earlier in the night, Ventrella said:

"I knew going onto the ranch that I needed to save my life. The only way to do that was to bare all. I left everything I loved, everything I hated - I had to get over it. I dedicated myself so much. I had to reach into a place inside of me I didn't think existed. Even to this day, I don't feel like I'm done yet. I'm going to keep going."

Amazing stuff. We wish Michael the best in his quest to remain happy and healthy.

Chances are, you haven't heard of Nicky Holender. But you're very familiar with his client base.

This personal trainer is responsible for the physiques of Kendra Wilkinson, Melanie Brown, Chris Harrison and other celebrities so famous they've made him sign confidentiality agreements that keep their names a secret.

Carrie Fisher Weight Loss Pic

How does he motivate these stars? And what's the deal behind his upcoming Kendra DVD (No, not that one!)? We spoke with the former professional soccer player today and asked him about society's weight loss craze, among other topics...

THG: Why do tabloid covers hyping various weight loss achievements sell so well?
Holender: Weight loss is a goal a lot of people strive for. The general public struggles with weight for lots of reasons, such as bad eating and inactivity. They want to know: Is it possible to get in shape? How is it possible? These stories help with that.

THG: What's your approach when meeting a new client?
Holender: I give then a nutritional plan and I determine their energy expenditure. I always ask myself: How can I get their bodies in balance? For the most part, one's body wants to remain as it is. My job is to push it someplace it doesn't naturally want to go.

THG: Is it difficult to motivate celebrities that aren't used to being bossed around?
Holender: It's easier. Most of these people have gotten to where they are in life through hard work. They know what's expected of them and don't shy away from it.

THG: Tell us about your upcoming Kendra workout DVD.
Holender: It comes out in July and focuses on people, such as new mothers, that have been away from training for awhile. We try to make working out fun by incorporating five sports into the routines. It's a 48-minute cardio workout that keeps the heart rate elevated at all times and burns calories.

In the latest issue of Life & Style, the tabloid reports that Kendra Wilkinson wants to squeeze out a new baby in order to make up for her leaked sex tape.

Incredibly, this was NOT the most ridiculous item on that magazine's cover. The publication also quotes Tori Spelling as saying: I'm not too thin.

That's hilarious, considering the photo that accompanies this story:

Emaciated Tori

"Last summer, she didn't want to be photographed in a bathing suit," a source told the tabloid. "Now she's much happier with herself. She's still very thin, but she's not bony anymore."

We guess that's true. But when you set the bar at Shenae Grimes-like levels, it's easy to clear.

Study the photo above and you tell us: Tori Spelling looks...

We gotta talk, Life & Style.

We understand that you're celebrity gossip tabloid trying to make money, and that naive individuals blindly heed the words of talentless celebrities for reasons that make us ashamed to be a human being.

Therefore, you're gonna plaster their bikini bodies on your cover each week and make it seem like such geniuses as Kim Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson can actually offer useful advice. But can you at least publish new material?!?

The latest issue of this embarrassing publication simple recycles old photos for its lead story and then quotes Kim, Kendra and others from interviews these stars gave months ago.

Bikini Body Slim-Down!

For example, Kendra offers these words of wisdom to anyone trying to get in shape: "I'm phasing [junk food] out, little by little... and "hiking, biking, just going outside and having fun."

How about you, Kristin Cavallari? What's your secret? "I don't eat processed food, for the most part. I try to eat all natural. I work out three to four times a week at the gym and do lots of sit-ups."

So... wait. People can lose weight if they eat healthy and exercise?!? This is novel information. What else can you tell us, Life & Style?

Only you can stop this madness, people. Stop purchasing these ridiculous tabloids, especially when we'll reprint their covers for free on THG. While the magazine above isn't the only offender - did you hear that Jennifer Aniston lost 7 pounds in 7 days?!? - it's clearly the most unoriginal.

See anything familiar on the cover of its previous two issues, prior to the one above?

When in need of some Jennifer Aniston gossip on a slow week:

  1. Say she's pregnant at least or has big "baby news"
  2. Say she's secretly meeting up with / doing Brad Pitt
  3. (Or dating Gerard Butler / rom-com co-star du jour)
  4. Talk about her "revenge" body or some nonsense

Having bled 1-3 dry, it was time for #4 this week for a certain celebrity news tabloid. And why not. After losing a staggering SEVEN pounds, life is grand for Jen!

Jen's easy plan - diet and exercise - may just work for you!

There's little doubt that while recently shooting Just Go With It with Adam Sandler, Jen looked hotter than ever ... or at least since the last time this story ran.

“She looked as if she’s lost an entire dress size,” a witness reports. “She was really petite and avoided the food on the craft services table. She has discipline.”

Thanks to self-control and a newfound philosophy on eating and exercise, Jen’s achieved her best body ever. Friends say that the actress is "totally ecstatic."

Eh, she looks the same to us. Not that it's a bad thing. Click to enlarge some Jennifer Aniston pictures from our archives and see if you see any change ...

Someone really needs to get Kourtney Kardashian a GPS for her bikini body.

The unmarried mother continues to lose her figure every few weeks. Fortunately, she always recovers it, just in time to grace the cover of a supermarket tabloid. Amazing how that works, isn't it?

Kourt Slims Down

Even though she's already told us how she lost 33 pounds, while also having already shared her diet secrets with the world, Kourtney is featured yet again in the latest issue of Life & Style.

Forget about her sister's dangerous new love, we're dying to discover the tips that can help us get airbrushed by magazines lose so much weight. Take it away, Kourt!

Small diet tweaks: "I used to always get a chai latte from Starbucks, but I just switched to one espresso shot... I was eating a lot of dried fruit, and I didn't realize how much sugar that added. And now I'll eat raw almonds instead of salted ones."

Embrace a physical activity: "I'm big on running - just putting on my iPod Shuffle and going for a run by my house."

Eat fresh food: "Frozen yogurt tastes so chemically to me because I've been eating salads and salmon and chicken. Fresh food is so much better."

Then, there's this final tip: Get pregnant in order to increase ratings for your reality show, pocket lots of cash by exploiting this situation for every tabloid in the country, use that money to pay a personal trainer and personal chef to help you get toned, use Photoshop, offer absolutely nothing of substance to the world.

Attention, Kim Kardashian: This is how you avoid being a hypocrite.

Simply speak the consistent truth, explaining how you feel pressure to keep a thin figure because that's what Hollywood executives are looking for. Then, curse the system.

That's what Amanda Seyfried has done, as she says it takes "a hell of a lot of work" to keep off the pounds. She adds that her body is "always on my mind" and:

"If I have to diet, it's salad with protein, salmon and broccoli, no dessert. But what kind of life is that? So I work out a lot and I'm just pretty moderate about what I eat."

The movie star and former Big Love cast member says that such an obsession is simply, sadly part of her job description.

"I have to stay in shape because I'm an actress. It's f-cked up and it's twisted, but I wouldn't get the roles otherwise. If I'd been bigger, I don't think they would have cast me for Mamma Mia!"

Off Big Love
