Ferris Bueller's Day Off feels a lot less funny all of a sudden.

Jeffrey Jones, the actor best known for playing Principal Ed Rooney in that classic comedy, was arrested last week on a felony charge after he failed to update his registration as a sex offender.

Yes, the man that tried to chase down Matthew Broderick's character in that 1986 movie pleaded no contest to having a 14-year old boy pose seductively for him in 2003. As a result, he was forced to register, visit a counselor and complete five years' probation.

On June 23, Jones was apprehended after he did not renew his California registration within the five days of his previous birthday. It's the second time the troubled actor has faced an arrest after his initial charges.

He failed to inform authorities of a move in 2004.

Britney Spears is the subject of a new investigation following a former bodyguard's alleging that she abused her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

However, inside sources say that the troubled pop star and her management are not concerned over the claims made by Fernando Flores in the UK's Sun.

Flores says he told investigators that Spears beat one of her sons with a belt and fed them food they were allergic to which in turn made them violently ill.

He also claimed he had no choice but to resign from the job as a result of her “erratic” behavior (he said he was subject to Britney Spears nude come-ons).

Team BS says the child abuse allegations are ... well, BS.

“(Flores’ claims) are simply not true," says a Spears source. "There are always people around Britney, nannies and such. She is never alone with the boys."

"She would never have the opportunity to do something like that. She’s very loving of the kids. Neither she nor [manager] Larry Rudolph, are worried."

Another source, who previously worked with the starlet, agreed that Britney Spears is the target of a bitter former employee upset by the loss of his job.

“Britney may have been a little out of control sometimes but never would harm her babies, never in a million years would she hurt them,” said the insider.

Although the Department of Children and Family Services were regulars at Britney’s home years ago, she is now “totally clean” with the department.

Also, as of Wednesday, they were unaware of Flores’ request for investigation into the matter, despite the former bodyguard's claim that he told them.

That's the argument lawyers for Bruce Beresford-Redman plan to use if their client is ever extradited to Mexico on first-degree murder charges.

The former Survivor producer is the prime suspect in the April death of wife Monica, who was found in a sewer near the Cancun hotel where she and Bruce were vacationing, strangled to death.

Since then, Beresford-Redman has proclaimed his innocence, while the victim's sisters have made no secret over their beliefs that Bruce is responsible for Monica's death.

Now, following an unusual hiccup in the case that proves Mexican authorities confiscated Bruce's cell phone last month and made thousands of dollars worth of calls on it, a source tells TMZ exactly what the suspect's defense will be:

Beresford-Redman's attorney will claim police are in need of a scapegoat because there were two deaths aside from Monica's at the Cancun hotel in question, along with an alleged rape by an employee.

With tourism in danger, the lawyer will state, Bruce has been made the fall guy.

Meanwhile, a private funeral service is scheduled for Monica tomorrow. Bruce is not invited.

Al Gore's sexual assault accuser has been revealed, and Molly Hagerty says she has evidence to support her claim that the former V.P. is a pervert fiending for tail.

Molly, the Portland masseuse who made sexual assault accusations against Gore in 2006, tells the National Enquirer, "Al Gore is a pervert and sexual predator."

Moreover, "He's not what people think he is - he's a sick man!"

The story broke last week, with Molly Hagerty's name withheld a a possible sex crime victim. Gore was not charged in 2006 or 2009, when the case was reopened.

It's unclear why police took another look at this just last year for an alleged incident years earlier, but in any case, Hagerty is ready to go public - and tell all.

Amy Locane is in serious trouble with the law.

The actress, who appeared on the original Melrose Place and played a small role in the 2002 movie Secretary, crashed into the side of another car in Montgomery, New Jersey on Sunday night, killing the woman in the passenger's seat of that vehicle.

The second driver involved was taken to a nearby hospital, while Locane was arrested on the spot for DUI. The New Jersey Star-Ledger reports the actress admitted to drinking several glasses of wine prior to the accident.

Incredibly, Locane rear-ended another car before getting into this major crash. She fled that scene, but was followed by a driver who phoned police and said Locane was "swerving and knocking down several mailboxes."

A mother of two, Locane has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault by auto. She could face 10 years in prison if convicted.

UPDATE: In December, the actress was indicted in New Jersey on charges of aggravated manslaughter.

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil was arrested early Monday in Las Vegas on a DUI charge. The rocker is still at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance.

There are no further details at present, but if Neil was indeed driving while inebriated, it would appear that he's learned little from a checkered personal history.

In 1984, Neil was driving drunk when he had an accident that killed his passenger, Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley, spending 30 days in jail.

The timing of the incident is also unfortunate for the 49-year-old, given that both his new CD, and his forthcoming memoir, are titled Tattoos and Tequila.

U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan may be facing a crisis much bigger than his team's elimination from the World Cup this past weekend - a forthcoming love child.

A newspaper in the UK will allege that a British woman is pregnant by Donovan, who is separated from his wife, actress Bianca Kajlich, but not divorced from her.

His relationship with Kajlich became the subject of great interest last week after they shared an emotional phone call following his winning goal against Algeria.

Donovan, who played for the Liverpool football club Everton this winter, blew her a kiss during an interview, fueling speculation that the couple might reconcile.

"It would surprise no one if Landon and Bianca were back together very soon," said one of her friends. "They have remained in contact and are very close."

Landon Donovan is separated from wife Bianca Kajlich. The fact that he may have fathered a love child with someone else may not aid his bid to reconcile with her.

The identity of Donovan's baby mama is unclear at this time, as is how Bianca will feel about his attempts to win her back if this love child rumor proves to be legit.

Regarding the pregnancy rumor, Donovan did not deny it might be true, telling Sports Illustrated's Web site: "I was informed of the possibility during the World Cup."

"If I need to take responsibility, then I will provide the appropriate support," he added. "This is a private matter, and I will refrain from further comment at this time."

Donovan has spent most of his career in the U.S., but played on loan in Liverpool earlier this year, becoming a fan favorite - apparently with one woman in particular.

He was a hero for the USA at the World Cup, scoring three goals and guiding the team to the knockout phase, where they were eliminated on Saturday by Ghana.

Former tennis star Jennifer Capriati was rushed to a Florida hospital yesterday, following a suspected drug overdose.

According to TMZ, Capriati - who made her professional debut at the age of 13 and won three Grand Slam titles - was taken away by paramedics who responded to a call from a hotel in Riviera Beach.

Her family says Jennifer is "recuperating at a South Florida hospital from an accidental overdose of medication prescribed to Jen by her personal physicians."

Capriati was arrested for marijuana possession in 1994 and spent time in rehab before a return to tennis a couple years later. in July 2007, she left the game again and admitted to depression, saying:

"When I stopped playing, that's when all this came crumbling down. 'If I don't have [tennis], who am I? What am I? I was just alive because of this. I've had to ask, 'Well, who is Jennifer? What if this is gone now?' I can't live off of this the rest of my life.'"

We hope she finds the answers and makes a full recovery.

Mel Gibson has filed for a restraining order against Oksana Grigorieva, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his eighth child (but not the first seven, whose mother he was married to when he knocked Oksana up, like all upstanding folks do).

The actor filed the paperwork under seal at the Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday. The plaintiff is listed as Mel Gibson and the defendant is Oksana Grigorieva.

Grigorieva was served the documents at her home. The case is sealed, meaning the documents cannot be released to the public, but reports say the complaint centers around three issues and Gibson's access to daughter Lucia.

Mel Gibson filed for a temporary restraining order, a notice about a forthcoming court hearing as well as a notice of visitation rights and child custody.

He and Oksana Grigorieva, a Russian musician-singer, split in April after over a year of dating. Their split was described as amicable ... at that time.

However, she later hinted the break-up was complicated: "We have split up, suddenly and recently... Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason."

"But you will find out everything quite soon."

Mel has been accused of an affair with Polish porn star Violet Kowal, but it's quite unclear if that actually happened or played a role in this breakup.

Last year, Gibson's wife Robyn filed for divorce after 30 years of marriage, right around when Mel and Grigorieva conceived their child together.

NFL Hall of Fame legend Lawrence Taylor has been formally indicted on rape charges following an the incident in which he allegedly hired a 16-year old prostitute.

In addition to rape, a grand jury also indicted him for criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and patronizing a prostitute. Just sad.

Taylor was arrested in May at a Holiday Inn in Suffern, N.Y., outside New York City. Prosecutors say he paid the girl $300 for sex. He was arrested that morning.

Her pimp, Rasheed Davis, was also arrested.

He denies having sex with her, but LT's rape defense is expected to be as far-fetched as it us unpleasant to picture - he's expected to say he merely masturbated.

LT has fallen depressingly far since his football heyday.

As she is underage and the victim of a potential sex crime, the identity of the Lawrence Taylor accuser, who he claims he thought was 18, has not been released.

Legally, that matters not. She said that her pimp "left her no choice."

In response to the charges, his agent, Mark Lepselter says their legal team "made a strategic decision to not put any of our evidence in front of the grand jury."

"We look forward to presenting our evidence at the appropriate time."
