A new beauty pageant scandal has broken out, but this one has nothing to do with naked photos or a contestant's stance on gay marriage.

Jenna Talackova - a 23-year old who was born a man, but who underwent gender reassignment surgery at the age of 19 - has been disqualified from Miss Universe Canada because, according to a statement from the organization, she does not "meet the requirements to compete, despite having stated otherwise on her entry form."

Producers added that they do respect Talackova's "goals, determination and wish her the best."

"I am very disappointed with the decision taken by the Miss Universe ... organizers," Talackova said in a statement released today. "However, I will look to turn this situation into a positive so that other people in a similar situation are not discriminated against in the future."

Denis Davila, the director of the event, says there are rules in place that make it clear one must be born a woman in order to compete. Jenna, he says, indicated on her original registration that she was female, only to later explain her unusual situation.

Reactions to the decision have been mixed with over 20,000 signatures on a change.org petition to reverse the pageant ruling.

What do you think? Should Talackova have been disqualified?

Simon Cowell was forced to take a break from deciding on the next X Factor judges Saturday... because a woman used a brick to break a window and get into his London home!

S. Cowell

We'll let Simon's rep, Max Clifford, explain what happened via the statement he has released regarding the incident:

"There was a loud bang and Simon rushed upstairs to find out what was going on. It came from the bathroom so he went in and there was a woman standing there holding a brick. She had smashed her way in through the window and it was unclear how long she had been there or what she was doing."

The producer's security team swooped in, TMZ reports, and detained the intruder - Leanne Zaloumis, 29, believed to be a crazed fan - until British police arrived and arrested the lady for trespassing, along with intention to inflict grievous bodily harm upon a person therein.

"It was a very frightening experience for Simon, who told me it was like something from a horror movie," Clifford said.

Dharun Ravi blames immaturity - not criminal-level hate - for his actions leading up to the tragic suicide of his former Rutgers roommate, Tyler Clementi.

"I was 18 ... I did do things wrong and I was stupid about a lot of stuff," he tells ABC News of his 2010 actions. "I was a dumb kid not thinking about it."

Ravi, who many feel indirectly drove Clementi to throw himself off the George Washington bridge, was found guilty of invasion of privacy and hate crimes.

He insists he is not homophobic, however.

Ravi and Clementi

"I didn't act out of hate and I wasn't uncomfortable with Tyler being gay," Ravi claims in a separate interview with New Jersey's The Star-Ledger newspaper.

"I won't ever … tell the world that I hated Tyler because he was gay, or tell the world that I was trying to hurt or intimidate him because it's not true."

In death, Clementi has become a cause celebre of sorts, stirring passions, controversy and heated debate over bullying, particularly of gay youth.

Dharun Ravi says he realized his roommate, also 18 at the time, "had bigger problems" that may have contributed to his decision to take his own life.

You're not alone, Rob Kardashian.

The day after that reality star got in trouble for messing with a member of the paparazzi, TMZ reports that Brian Austin Green is about to face a lawsuit due to his alleged actions against one of these parasites in December.

BAG and Megan Fox

Delbert Shaw will claim in court papers he's filing today that he was snapping pictures of the couple in Hawaii last year when Fox said to her man: Are you going to let him get away with that?

The taunt prompted Green, supposedly, to attack Shaw, resulting in injuries to the photographer and even his iPhone getting tossed into the ocean. He's suing Green for unspecified damages and notes in the suit that Fox was egging the actor on throughout the assault.

No word yet from anyone in Green or Fox's camp.

It's really not a good week to be a Kardashian.

A few days after Kim Kardashian got flour bombed during one of her weekly red carpet appearances, brother Rob Kardashian actually got handcuffs and detained by a Miami police officer - and all due to a joke gone terribly wrong.

As reported by TMZ, Ron was chilling with friends when he noticed a member of the paparazzi taking photos of the group from across the street. He thought it would be hilarious to act like he was chasing the photographer... only for the photographer to actually run away screaming into a smoke shop.

A cop saw the incident go down, handcuffed Kardashian and threw him into the back of a police car. But after interviewing all parties and realizing it was just a misunderstanding, authorities let Rob go.

Now we'll get to hear about this huge injustice all week long on various Kardashian blogs, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds. Great.

After speaking to her PR team and being told what to do thinking about the act of violence perpetrated against her on a Los Angeles red carpet last week, Kim Kardashian has decided to press charges against the woman who threw flour all over her.

She will reportedly contact law enforcement officials over the next few days and take the appropriate steps.

In response to this decision, PETA has gone on the attack against Kardashian. That lame organization denies involvement in the act, but has released a statement that reads:

If she presses charges, at least people will be constantly reminded of her selfish, callous disregard for the cruel deaths that she causes by wearing fur.

How much better it would be if she decided to evolve and enhance her image by donating her vulgar furs and exotic-animal skins to the homeless. The activist acted from the heart, something Kim doesn't seem to have. If anything, Kim should get a life, the very thing that she denies animals.

What do you think? Should Kardashian press charges against her attacker?

Fox News' Geraldo Rivera stunned viewers with remarks about the Trayvon Martin case, saying that by wearing a hooded sweatshirt, the slain teen made himself a target.

Martin, the 14-year-old candy-carrying, hoodie-wearing African-American boy, was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a Sanford, Fla., neighborhood watch captain.

He was walking home from a 7-Eleven and was unarmed. Zimmerman, who claimed self defense, has not been charged, though a grand jury will hear the case.

Martin supporters participated in a "Million Hoodie March" to protest Zimmerman's freedom. But the hoodie has taken on new meaning thanks to Geraldo.

"When you see a kid walking down the street, particularly dark-skinned kid like my son Cruz - who I constantly yelled at when he was going out wearing a damn hoodie or those pants around his ankles, 'Take that hood off!'" Rivera said on Fox & Friends.

"People look at you, and what’s the instant identification, what’s the instant association? It’s those crime-scene surveillance tapes."

"Every time you see someone stickin’ up a 7-Eleven, the kid’s wearing a hoodie," Rivera continued. "Every time you see a mugging on a surveillance camera or they get that old lady in the alcove, it’s a kid wearing a hoodie."

"You have to recognize that this whole stylizing yourself as a 'gangsta' … You’re gonna be a gangsta wannabe? Well, people are going to perceive you as a menace. That’s just what happens. It is an instant reflexive action."

The negative reaction to this was fast and furious.

This is so not kool, people.Kim Kardashian White Powder Pic

During an event at the London Hotel in West Hollywood last night, Kim Kardashian was walking the red carpet when a woman ran up and tossed white powder all over the reality star's back and hair.

You can see the before-and-after shots from the fragrance launch below, with Kim being led away, following the assault, in the latter photo:

The fire department was called in to determine the powder was simply cooking flour and police have detailed the assailant, who really is a moron.

If you aren't a fan of Kim Kardashian, ignore her on Facebook and Twitter. Don't make her sympathetic in the eyes of the public and definitely don't give her a reason to make more headlines.

Seriously, even Jon Hamm would not approve of this idiotic act.

UPDATE: Watch footage from the Kim Kardashian flour bomb now!

It was so worth it, right Christopher Chaney?

The 35-year-old Florida man, who admitted to hacking email accounts belonging to Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Christina Aguilera (among others), is due to enter a guilty plea in federal court Monday to nine felony offenses.

He'll receive a lighter sentence in exchange.

  • Scarlett Johansson, Hairstyle
  • Mila Pic

Christopher Chaney was looking at more than 100 years in prison for identity theft, unauthorized computer access and wiretapping that affected roughly 50 victims.

He is said to have hacked into the accounts and attached a bug that allowed him to receive a copy of every email sent by the unaware user. Not shady at all.

He would then shop some the goods, such as the Scarlett Johansson nude photos, to celebrity websites. Fortunately, the FBI eventually tracked him down.

Johansson, for her part, kept a sense of humor about the whole thing, telling Vanity Fair, "I know my best angles." Does she have any not-best angles?

Chaney, who is free on bail, albeit wearing an ankle monitor and prohibited from using computers, still will likely face prison time despite the plea deal.

Tom Hanks is speaking out after The Daily Caller, a conservative-leaning news site, posted a video featuring the actor and the Eagles' Glenn Frey emceeing an event at the private St. Matthew's Parish School in Pacific Palisades in 2004.

Why did this come up? A guy wearing blackface in the video.

The ostensibly shocking footage shows a fellow parent at the school dressed in what apparently was his interpretation of an African tribal costume:

Hanks responded to the blackface video in a statement today:

"For years I emceed the annual fundraising auction for my kids' school. Back in '04, I was blindsided when one of the parents got up on the stage in a costume that was hideously offensive then and is hideously offensive now."

"What is usually a night of food and drink for a good cause was, regrettably, marred by an appalling few moments."

Hanks and Rita Wilson's youngest son, Truman, is 16, and has since left St. Matthew's, which only runs until eighth grade. The school had no comment.

"It is St. Matthew's Parish School's policy not to comment on any press inquiries regarding fundraisers or other school events," a rep for the school said.
