After Lindsay Lohan's encounter with Dawn Holland at the Betty Ford Center, during which the former staffer originally alleged she was battered by Lindsay, only to take back that claim days later, we joked that bribes go a long way.

Well, the D.A. had the same thought. Only he isn't kidding.

The Riverside County D.A.'s office has kept open the case against Lindsay, and a suspected payoff to Holland is one reason for the extended investigation.

"Riverside District Attorney David Greenberg, who is handling the case, suspects that Dawn Holland was paid off by Lindsay Lohan's camp," a source said.

"Greenberg believes that Dawn's change of heart was fiscally motivated. Greenberg believes Lindsay's camp paid Dawn off, plain and simple."

A source says Lindsay was unaware of any payment involving Dawn. That's because, Radar Online claims, Michael Lohan was the one involved.

Over a year since he was arrested in North Reading, Massachusetts, Adam Jasinski has been sentenced to four years in prison.

The champion of Big Brother 9 - who actually used his reality show winnings to set up a drug ring that included co-star Matt McDonald - was busted in October 2009 for trying to sell 2,000 oxycodone pills to a government informant. Smart, he is not.

It's a good thing Adam Jasinski has experience living with strangers in tight quarters.

In handing down the sentence to the 32-year old, U.S. District Court Judge William Young decreed:

"You were drug trafficking, and you were drug trafficking until they caught you. You got to a position where you thought that the rules didn't apply to you."

Said Jasinski, who admitted to being treated for bipolar disorder and drug addiction: "I'm sick. I won $500,000 and I blew it all. I apologize. I'm a mess... Give me a chance to get out and find out who I really am."

Oksana Grigorieva's ex-bodyguard Kristian Herzog has had some rough things to say about Mel Gibson in the past ... like how Mel wanted him dead.

Now, though, the guy who likely knows the most about Oksana's claims against Mel says she's exaggerating or downright lying about violence.

Herzog, who served as her bodyguard until recently, and who may or may not have nailed Oksana, says she admitted to him Mel never punched her.

Oksana is a manipulative liar trying to bilk Mel, says Kristian.

Rather, Herzog says Oksana told him Mel slapped her. That's it. Gibson admits slapping Oksana, claiming he was trying to protect daughter Lucia.

Herzog, who's been subpoenaed by Mel's lawyers in the couple's custody fight, also says she had a motive for secretly recording Mel Gibson rants.

That motive, simply, was "to pressure Mel to pay her money."

The First Dude implicated in a sex scandal?! Who would have guessed.

The National Enquirer, N.Y. Daily News, Gawker, Yahoo News, Vanity Fair and other sources report that Todd Palin, the husband of Sarah, has been linked to a female massage therapist, Shailey Tripp, who was recently busted for prostitution.

Police have confiscated physical evidence in Tripp's arrest, according to reports, that could tie Todd Palin to the alleged extramarital affair.

Hilariously, reports suggest that Shailey Tripp contributed free massages to an anonymous person working for Sarah's campaign for Governor of Alaska.

Reps for the Dude vehemently deny that he cheated on Sarah Palin, but allegations of Toddles' extramarital affair with Tripp first surfaced on January 4.

That's when an anonymous tipster sent out messages to news outlets making the allegation using the address thepalinmorals (at) hotmail (dot) com.

When this season of The Bachelor premiered, contestants were noticeably wary of Brad Womack because he left both finalists with a broken heart during his first run on the show.

But suitors now have a new reason to worry: Womack is a criminal!!!

According to police records, Brad was arrested in 1993 for forging a Texas driver's license. Did ABC miss this infraction during its background check because Womack was booked under his birth name, Stephen Bradley Pickelsimer? Or did the network not care because he's just so gosh darn handsome?

This felony counterfeiting charge netted Womack 180 days of probation.

Meanwhile, Star Magazine also reports that the bachelor was busted for public intoxication and for passing a bad check.

Judson Birza, who won what many consider to have been the most boring season in Survivor history, was arrested yesterday. For an equally unexciting reason.

The reality show champion was stopped by Santa Monica police because he was skateboarding in the street, which is a crime in the city. Due to his subsequent strange behavior, Birza was booked on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police also discovered an unrelated DUI warrant, as well as a probation violation, on Birza's record when he was taken into custody.

Judson has been released on $37,000 bail.

Reliable sources have confirmed that Melissa Etheridge really is dating Linda Wallem, the creator of Nurse Jackie and former best friend of ex-wife Tammy Lynn Michaels.

That's awkward. But it's not nearly as awkward as the way in which Michales learned that Etheridge was being unfaithful, as explained in a new poem Tammy has posted on her website, titled "speak, spread walk the talk." It tells the story of a mis-labeled box of dildos.
