No word on when Rose is set to serve his time.

The former NBA star's attorney is absolutely livid over the sentence, which also includes a year of probation, calling it an "abuse of discretion."

"The 20-day jail sentence issued by this Michigan judge is outrageous," Keith Davidson said, "a horrendous example of judicial temperament."

Rodney King, whose videotaped beating by police sparked the 1992 L.A. riots, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday.

King was driving when he was pulled over in Moreno Valley, in Southern California's Riverside County, city police department officials claimed.

Officers saw King, who has acknowledged a longstanding drinking problem, commit "several traffic violations," a police statement said.

"A preliminary evaluation of the driver indicated he was possibly driving while impaired." The subject, later revealed to be King, "was transported to the Moreno Valley Police Department for a further evaluation," police said.

He was booked after that further evaluation.

King's 1991 beating by Los Angeles police officers after a traffic stop left him with skull fractures and brain and kidney damage. It was captured on video by a nearby resident, and four officers were indicted as a result.

Their acquittal sparked the riots that left 55 dead and cost billions in damage. Two officers were later found guilty in federal court.

DMX just made another contribution to our celebrity mug shots gallery after getting busted for drug possession - an offense committed while in jail!

The rapper scored an extended stay in prison, where he was serving seven months for violating probation and scheduled to be released TOMORROW.

Law enforcement sources say X has been busted for multiple offenses since being sent away to the Yuma, Ariz., facility commenced late last year.

'X' Mug Shot

It's unclear how DMX got the drugs into prison or what they were.

Drug possession, failing/refusing a drug test, smoking when he wasn't supposed to, being disrespectful, disruptive, and disorderly ... you name it.

In any case, his release has been postponed by at least a week, if not longer. Give a fella credit, this was a new addition to his impressive resume.

Keep up the good work in there, dawg.

Michael Todd, the bass player for Coheed And Cambria, was recently arrested, which in itself is not that hard to believe for a guy in a hard rock band.

The significant aspects to this story are as follows:

  1. It was for ARMED ROBBERY.
  2. He was en route to a huge show THAT NIGHT.

Todd was busted for allegedly holding up a Walgreens with the claim that he had a bomb, according to police reports from Attleboro, Mass.

Todd showed a pharmacist a cell phone note that said he had a bomb and demanded Oxycontin. He made off with six bottles of it via taxi.

Here's where it gets even more absurd. Police say he was spotted in the cab, which they were able to track via dispatcher to the Comcast Center ... where Coheed and Cambria were set to open up for Soundgarden. Awesome.

How will this impact the band's future? Apparently it won't. Todd has been kicked off the tour, with a replacement filling in immediately.

R&B singer Nivea Hamilton (a.k.a. Nivea) was arrested for DUI in Atlanta this weekend after driving her into a tree with a child in the vehicle.

Usually not a good situation.

The drama began after Nivea, who is believed to be Lil Wayne's baby mama #4, left a nearby wedding reception for her friend Toya Carter (Weezy's baby mama #1), where she also hung out with Lauren London (#3). Standard.

Nivea was on the road around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday when she plowed her Mercedes into a tree that had fallen into the road during a recent storm.

When cops arrived, Nivea had "bloodshot, glassy eyes and smelled like alcohol." Nivea told police she only had three drinks earlier in the evening.

Whatever she had, she didn't see the bright yellow police tape and traffic cones directing cars away from the downed tree, and drilled that piece.

Nivea was eventually arrested on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving. The child in the car was not injured and was released to Nivea's boyfriend.

Steven "Boston" Colver was convicted yesterday of murdering Joanne Witt for opposing his relationship with Witt's then-14-year-old daughter, Tylar Witt.

Colver, now 21, and Tylar, now 16, blamed each other for stabbing Joanne Witt 20 times as she was lying in bed in her upscale El Dorado Hills, Ca., home.

Colver's mom, Jan Colver, wept as the jury convicted Colver of first-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon, lying in wait and killing a witness to a crime.

Joanne Witt was murdered two years ago after she complained to local police that Steven Colver had committed statutory rape against Tylar Witt.

The prosecutor, who said the case was about "forbidden love," presented DNA evidence from Witt's fingernails and journal entries by the accused.

"It is a true test when faced with the task of taking the life of another to be with the one that you love," the killer allegedly, ominously wrote.

Tylar Witt pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in a deal that reduced the conviction to second-degree murder in exchange for her testimony.

Once a politician, always a politician. Look at that handsome, smiling face.

Going by these images, you'd never expect that former U.S. Senator John Edwards knocked up mistress Rielle Hunter while his wife was terminally ill, lied about it repeatedly, then allegedly covered it up with campaign funds.

But, here we are.

Nice to see John Edwards is still having fun.

Edwards pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and campaign law violations. These mug shots were obtained by CNN. Goooo Freedom of Information Act!

The plea came after a grand jury indicted him on six counts, including conspiracy, issuing false statements and violating campaign finance laws.

The grand jury had been investigating whether money given to support Rielle Hunter by benefactors of Edwards' 2008 run for the presidency.

Their conclusion was that there was enough evidence to charge Edwards, who insists that despite his personal failings, he did not break the law.

A plea deal between Edwards and the U.S. Justice Department fell apart over the the DOJ's requirement that Edwards go to jail. He declined.

Guess he'll roll the dice at trial, where his chances of beating the rap are iffy. In the court of opinion, however, he's long since been convicted.

Alleged comedian Katt Williams has been arrested again. That's not surprising in the least, but the details surrounding his latest bust sort of are.

The Katt was busted in Palmdale, Calif., after an intense standoff with ... a tractor driver doing work outside the home where Williams was staying.

The man claims that three women approached his vehicle and began attacking him with rocks and dirt clods around 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

After suffering facial injuries, the man called his wife to pick him up, but when she arrived, Williams pulled up in an SUV and blocked their exit.

That's when the man called 911, the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. arrived and the women were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Katt Williams was charged with intimidating a witness, a felony, and was hauled to a station and booked. He posted $50K bail and left.

Even for a guy who gets arrested so often, this was a new one.
