Jessica Alba must get really bored.

We guess that happens when you're just a mediocre actress, but one would think daughter Honor Marie would keep Alba busy enough to not change her hair color every five minutes.

Instead, the beautiful celebrity is constantly messing with her look. The reasons why are unknown.

Perhaps if Alba is made aware of which color is best on her, she'll stop going to the stylist so often and go back to posing nude a lot. Help her out below...

Ashley Tisdale is the anti-Kim Kardashian.

She hasn't been ransacked by Ray J on video, nor does she milk every public outing for publicity.

With the introduction above, however, we're actually referring to the dueling hairstyles of these celebrities.

Earlier this summer, Kardashian abadoned her failed experiment to live as a blonde; that "alter ego" has been replaced by Kim's typically dark locks.

Conversely, Tisdale dyed her hair brown a few months ago, didn't contact every supermarket tabloid to brag about it, and has now returned to her lighter roots. Which look do you prefer on the High School Musical star?

Back in the day, Katharine McPhee finished second on American Idol (believe it or not, Chris Daughtry lost to both her and Taylor Hicks) and was known for her gorgeous looks as well as her musical talent. Term used semi-loosely.

Who knows what she's up to nowadays ... besides dying her hair! The singer debuted a new blond bob last night at the Ann Taylor runway show in NYC.

At first glance, it would appear that Jessica Alba has gone all Cassie with her hair.

The actress showed up at the Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2010 fashion show this week with a 'do so short it appeared shaven.

Fortunately, Alba didn't channel her inner Britney Spears; she simply slicked her hair back. Way, way, way back.

We prefer the actress with long, brown hair, so it was extra disturbing to see such a beautiful person mess with her look in such a way. It better not last very long!

Do you agree? Compare Alba's long and short hairstyles below and then vote in our poll...

There are hilariously awful celebrity makeovers (hello, Stephanie Pratt!) and there are solid, necessary ones (looking good, Susan Boyle!).

Then, there are the changes undergone by writer/director Diablo Cody, which can only be described as: WTF?!?

With less make-up and shorter, spikier, blonder hair, the Juno scribe might look better these days, but she also looks like a completely different person.

See for yourself:

Farewell, reverse-mullet weave. Hello, new Kate Gosselin hair!

New hair that doesn't actually look completely awful... maybe!

On her second day as guest co-host on The View, Kate debuted a new wavy look: “You have a new hairstyle. It’s a first!” said Barbara Walters.

Added co-host Joy Behar, “It looks cute!” Gosselin gave credit to the show’s makeup artists: “Your girls back there, whoo baby! Isn’t it cute?”

Is it, though? Check out Kate Gosselin's new hairstyle here ...

Kate Gosselin shows off her new 'do on The View.

Later, Kate talked about why she’s still wearing her wedding ring: “I said very early on that I would continue to wear it for the kids,” she said. “We are not officially divorced yet, and I’ve had it on for 10 years. It’s upsetting to the kids.”

As for estranged ex Jon’s tirade about how he despises Kate: “Of course it bothers me. Will I return the favor? Absolutely not. I'm a high-road taker.”

Sure you are, KG. She was not asked about Jon's proposed new clothing line, Gosselin Gear. Probably for the best. Anyway, more importantly ...

Kim Kardashian is back!

Any celebrity gossip follower would ask the obvious question ("Where the heck did she go? She's been featured in every tabloid all summer long."), but the reality TV star swears she wasn't herself over the last few weeks.

The culprit? That dangerous blonde hair. Fortunately, Kim said goodbye to the lighter locks this week.

"Loved the blonde but that is my alter ego, I am back!" she Tweeted yesterday. "Feels good to be me again! I swear I was a different person w blonde hair."

Really? She seemed like the same attention-starved, money-hungry sell out to us.

Kim Kardashian has returned to her black roots. Call us cynical, but it's almost like she went blonde just to create headlines and garner attention for herself.

Tyra Banks is going back to her roots and turning over a new leaf. Literally in the case of the former, and as a figure of speech when it comes to the latter.

On today's season premiere of The Tyra Show, the talk show host's fifth, the supermodel took the stage with a new hairstyle. That being her real hair.

That's right. Real hair. No wigs, no extensions. No bull.

Tyra Banks' real hair was on display for all to see as her long tresses were styled on camera. She interviewed women who have insecurities about natural hair.

The girlfriend of John Utendahl said she wants to generate maximum attention redefine beauty and help women appreciate who they are, inside and out.

Tyra's show is moving from syndication to the CW, airing weekdays at 4 p.m. Her reality show, America's Next Top Model, begins its 13th cycle tomorrow.

ET has a clip of Tyra Banks' real hair. Peep it below ...

Kim Kardashian really needs to make a new sex tape.

The socialite is quickly losing steam in the public relations battle with her sisters, as Kourtney is dominating the celebrity gossip world with news of her pregnancy; and photographers everywhere are rushing out to get shots of Khloe and new boy toy Lamar Odom.

Great Blower

As for Kim? She dyed her hair blonde this summer.

Now, drumroll, please... she's going back to black!!! That's it. That's the extent of the news about this reality star, as not even Kardashian herself could find way to make this interesting. She simply wrote on her blog:

I'm dying my hair back dark...bye bye blonde, see u next summer! Love ya!

Peace out, ugly hair color: Kim Kardashian is returning to her roots... literally!

Do you like Kim as a blonde?

Whether she inspires criticism or compliments, debate over Michelle Obama's hair has not ceased in nearly a year and a half, nor is it likely to soon.

When the First Lady of the U.S. attended a country-music event in July without a single strand of hair falling below her jaw, the blogs went bonkers.

Her press secretary had to issue a statement that there was no Michelle haircut, just a new hairstyle. A summer look, simply "pinned up." Obviously.

Many dismiss attention paid to Michelle Obama's hair as mere celebrity gossip fodder, not unlike chatter over her sleeveless dresses, J. Crew cardigans, stocking-free legs or stunning decision to wear shorts to the Grand Canyon.

But for women, and African-Americans in particular, Michelle's hairstyles "command unique interest and carry cultural baggage," according to Time.

Media and pop cultural obsession with Michelle Obama's hair is nothing new.

Widespread interest in Michelle's hairstyles took hold before her husband was even elected, and the First Lady hasn't even done anything outrageous.

Heck, her new updo wasn't really all that dramatic a departure from variations we've seen on her before (the "flip-out," the "flip-under," the "helmet").

Still, her hair is now a catalyst for debate that begins purely with style but "quickly transcends appearance and ultimately transcends Michelle herself."

Michelle Obama is, like it or not, the "preeminent African-American women's status and style symbol in terms of her beauty, acceptance and power."

All in all, we think she thrives in that weighty role. Click to enlarge the Michelle Obama pictures below and see which hairstyles you like and dislike ...
