It's that time of the year again, when adorable little girls show up at your front door with a smile, puppy dog eyes - and a clipboard.

They'll ask what kind of Girl Scout Cookies you want to purchase and, let's face it, there's simply no way you can turn them down. The only question: What kind and how any?

Now there's a new option. In honor of the organization's 100th year in existence, the Girl Scouts have come out with Savannah Smiles, named after the birthplace of founder Juliette Gordon Low.

"Celebrate the anniversary of the Girl Scouts with these bite-sized, lemon-wedge cookies dusted in powdered sugar and bursting with lemon flavor," the group said today in a statement. "Enjoy these delightful treats, remember where Girl Scouts began ... and smile."

This is a pretty cool story.

Earlier this month, Jack Wagner was preparing for a concert in Boca Raton when a 23-year old woman showed up with a photo of her mother, someone Wagner briefly dated in the 1980s. The stranger claimed to be the actor's daughter - and he welcomed her into his life with welcome arms.

The following evening, prior to another show, Wagner invited his just-discovered child on to the stage and introduced her to the crowd. She couldn't stop weeping as her dad pulled her close and said he was proud of the courage it took for her to track him down...

Two weeks after this meeting, Wagner and Heather Locklear called off their engagement because they wanted to spend more time with their children. Makes a lot more sense now.

Hugh Grant's baby mama Tinglan Hong is going to extremes to protect her privacy.

A British High Court approved an injunction on behalf of the actress, with whom Hugh had an unplanned child in September, forbidding paparazzi from snapping pics of her and the newborn outside her London home or in the street.

She welcomed Grant's first child, a girl, in late September.

Per the BBC, a judge granted the court order on November 11 stating that celebrity gossip media members were making the 31-year-old's life "unbearable."

Consequently according to the court, Hong, whom Grant is no longer seeing, has been forced to change her phone number after receiving "terrifying" calls.

The little bundle of joy is a girl, but Tinglan Hong has apparently not settled on a name. Instead the court refers to her in court docs by the initials KLM.

"While Hugh Grant is very well known, the first claimant [Ms. Hong] never sought any publicity or been known to the public for any reason," wrote the judge.

"She and Mr. Grant did their best to keep private the fact that the second claimant was their child and do not know how the information reached the public."

Diana Nyad gave it an incredible shot, but the 62-year old endurance swimmer has been forced to get out of the water.

Nyad was attempting to swim from Cuba to Florida, a 102-mile distance she first tried to navigate in 1978 and then again in August of this year.

The motivational speaker's latest effort was her best, at least, as Nyad made it about two-thirds of the way before being pulled at around 11 a.m. yesterday due to strong currents and jellyfish stings.

Nyad says she grew motivated to try the Havana-to-Key-West route again after turning 60 because she wanted to feel young again. It's an admirable idea, but she may wanna find a safer hobby.

If this were Kim Kardashian, we'd blast her for exploiting a cute situation to score easy, patriotic points. We totally admit it.

But, come on, it's Linda Hamilton! Sarah Connor! Chuck Bartowski's mom! The veteran actress isn't exactly in need of endorsements or attention these days.

Therefore, let's agree the following video is nothing but a kind gesture. In it, Hamilton asks Sergeant Ray Lewis - the man who was turned down by Betty White - to the Marine Corps Ball. We'll let you know if he accepts.

It's the end of an error.

The UK's News of the World, one of the planet's least reliable but most entertaining celebrity gossip publications, will cease to exist July 10.

The news of the News shutdown comes on the heels of a huge wiretapping scandal reportedly involving high-profile victims across the UK.

Prince William, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Heather Mills, Hugh Grant, Jude Law and Sienna Miller were just a few of those reportedly hacked.

James Murdoch, chairman of publisher News International, broke the news to his staff Thursday. He addressed the wiretap case as well:

"I have important things to say about the News of the World and the steps we are taking to address the serious problems that occurred."

"The good things the News of the World does have been sullied by behavior that was wrong," he added, without listing any good things.

As a certain group of World Policeman once said: America, f-ck yeah!

On this Memorial Day, we hope readers understand our minimal number of posts, as we're sitting around a barbecue and raising a cold one to those who give us the freedom to bash the heck out of Kim Kardashian on a weekly basis.

For a tabloid to be truly absurd in THG's eyes, it must be old news, not news, intentionally misleading, libelous, untrue or some combination thereof.
