Promoting her new film Silver Linings Playbook, The Hunger Games heroine rocked a sleek, straight new 'do, bright red lipstick and black-polished fingernails.

J-Law wore a strapless black and red Christian Dior Haute Couture gown and black Dior shoes, a somewhat severe, gothic look that was nonetheless elegant.

Before Taylor Swift's stage-diving VMA performance, she walked the red carpet in a sleek white J. Mendel pantsuit and classic red lips at the annual MTV gala.

Meanwhile, Alicia Keys rocked a one-shoulder, draped silver gown and asymmetrical 'do to boot before her collaboration with Nicki Minaj (and Gabby Douglas).

Chris Brown and Drake were both among the MTV VMA winners last night. Better yet, no bottles were thrown or blows were exchanged to our knowledge!

Drizzy won Hest Hip-Hop Video for "HYFR," while Breezy took home the prized Best Male Video honors with his self-directed smash hit "Turn Up The Music."

Dude even got a hug and kiss from Rihanna to boot. Point ... Chris?

Rihanna and Katy Perry were both on the list of MTV VMA winners.

The BFFs were clearly among the night's fashion winners, as well.

Rihanna's stunning white gown and newly-shortened hair were the talk of the show, even before she was seen kissing Chris Brown inside Staples Center.

Often known for outrageous getups, she looked tremendous, an angel of the night in a floor length white dress which still showed some skin, RiRi style.

Katy Perry, meanwhile, went for a subtly provocative look. Her floor length Elie Saab gown featured a plunging neckline and sheer train. Just smoking.

Two of Hollywood's most eccentric stars made appearances on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet last night.

First, rumored new American Idol judge Nicki Minaj posed in a skin-tight outfit, yellow hair sprouting out the sides of a stylish black hat.

Then there was Ke$ha, who... looked sort of normal. For Ke$ha at least. Flowing blonde hair and a lack of facial glitter is simply not what we expect from this singer.

It started with Miley Cyrus new hair photos. Just dyed blonde, not a huge deal.

It then got a lot more punk, as the singer chopped off her locks and faced mounting criticism on the Internet.

Now, thanks to her appearance at tonight's MTV Video Music Awards, the Miley Cyrus transformation is complete and we know the exact look this artist was aiming for: Pink's!

Looking eerily like the "So What" crooner, Miley posed for fans and photographers with a mohawk and a plunging neckline. See for yourself:

Lady Gaga always manages to impress, or at least leave us scratching our heads, with her random photo shoots. Lady Gaga pics always make our day. What would all the fashion designers and makeup artists across the world do if she retired?

Luckily, we won't have to wonder that for some time at least.

Behold, the 26-year-old Mother Monster flapping her wings/feathers for the famed photographer Terry Richardson outside a Chanel store in Finland:

Those feathers are part of an elaborate headdress. We think.

Gaga is continuing the European leg of her Born This Way Ball tour, with Richardson in tow apparently, always ready to snap an "artistic" image such as this.
