Turns out reports of Britney Spears appearing on the cover of the new issue of Vogue were greatly exaggerated. Or to put it more accurately, untrue.

The confusion began when Liz Smith reported that Vogue's Patrick Demarchelier "has come to the U.S. from London to photograph Britney Spears."

Sure, he shoots for Vogue, but Spears must be posing for another magazine, because as hot as she's become lately, she's still, well ... not Vogue.

Britney Spears reacts to winning thrice at the VMAs. The former train wreck has been doing a lot better lately, but hasn't quite returned to the level of celebrity style icon.

Spears' first and only appearance on the cover of Vogue was back in November 2001 for an issue dedicated to American celebrity fashion.

Apparently it did not do well, as editor-in-chief Anna Wintour "will never put her on the cover again... She's just not a Vogue kind of girl."

Fortunately for Britney, she's still doing OK! Like every week.

As d-bag ex-beau Raffaello Follieri prepares to cut a plea deal and be sentenced to the prison cell he was born to occupy, Anne Hathaway is moving on.

Specifically, to the cover of W magazine. She certainly got all dolled up for this interesting photo shoot. We're not really sure how we feel about it.

It's 90210 (past and present) vs. The Hills in a classic celebrity fashion clash. Shannen Doherty wore a red Richard Ruiz to The Late Show with David Letterman, while Lauren Conrad sported the black version to a Nylon party.

The lovely Rachel Bilson has emerged from quasi-obscurity to grace the cover of a pair of magazines - the New York Post's Sunday Page Six magazine and Glamour magazine's "gorgeous at any age" issue, along with Ali Larter and Diane Lane.

In addition to discussing boyfriends past (Adam Brody) and present (Hayden Christensen), the actress dishes on her new clothing line, Edie Rose:

“[Even though I can’t sew,] I came with some pictures, a couple pieces of my own clothes and some ideas in my head," says Rachel Bilson.

"It’s really simple with one pop of color, which is a lot like me.”

As far as landing on the celebrity fashion police most wanted list, which has happened to her more than once (think one-sleeved sweater):

“I think it’s kind of cool to be on the worst-dressed list," she laughs. "If people aren’t accepting, that’s really okay. Bring it on, I don’t care!”

Her next role? Rachel will be serving as maid of honor at the wedding of Josh Schwartz (creator of The OC, Gossip Girl and Chuck) and his fiancee Jill!

That must have been Keira Knightley's philosophy, as she showed up for the world premiere of The Duchess wearing this porcupine-like outfit.

Gossip Girl, a teen drama known almost as much for its trend-setting fashions as its hot cast and scandalous story lines, returns tonight.

If the outfits worn by star Blake Lively are anything like what she wore to a taping of The Late Show last week, this will be a must see.

Blake decided, apparently, to wear her best Britney Spears outfit en route to the talk show. Hey, with legs like that, who needs pants?!

Gossip Girl's Blake Lively does not require pants. The Hollywood Gossip's editorial board encourages more bold celebrity fashion moves like this.

Julianne Hough is our favorite Dancing with the Stars professional of all-time. No offense, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Nevertheless, we can't say we're a big fan of Hough's look below. The off-the-shoulder outfit, the swirling design that leaves one side exposed and one's eyes blurry. It's just too much.
