Michelle Obama Visits Tonight Show, Jay Leno Actually Eats Vegetables!
First Lady Michelle Obama cajoled Jay Leno into eating healthy foods for the first time in ... oh, ever during her visit to the Tonight Show on NBC Tuesday.
Promoting her “Let’s Move!” campaign to get kids excited about fitness and healthy diets, Michelle brought out some food to make an example out of Jay.
As both Jay and Michelle joked repeatedly about his eating habits, Leno sampled apples, sweet potato fries and a pizza made with eggplant, peppers and zucchini.
Could've used some sausage, but even Jay conceded it wasn't bad.
Michelle Obama encouraged Jay to dip his apple in honey made from beehives in the White House garden: “It will help it go down easier,” she said.
“'White House honey'? That just sounds bad,” Leno replied, adding, “You know, with a different president that could mean a whole different thing.”
In California to promote her initiative and attend a pair of fundraising events, Michelle also talked about her daughters and her husband's reelection campaign.
She even praised Mitt Romney singing at a recent event. Classy woman.

Jay-Z and Beyonce: Dieting Together!
Jay-Z is getting in touch with his feminine side these days.
The 42-year-old dad-to-be is supporting Beyonce's pregnancy any way he can - and that includes dieting with her! The duo are maintaining a "partially vegan diet" and that "Jay's trying to be disciplined, and he needs the energy to support her," Us says.
If that's even halfway true, it's pretty sweet.
Beyonce, 30, isn't going to let herself go just because she's expecting, even if she is eating for two these days. "I've been really conscious [about food]," she said.
"I've been trying my best not to lose control!"
Jay and Beyonce's commitment to healthy living seems to be paying off in more ways than one. A source they were dancing up a storm at Hollywood's Spare Room club: "They were loved up and sweet together [and] partied until 4 a.m.!"
Whatever "loved up" means, it sounds romantic. The next night, the paid hung out with Serena Williams, Kanye West and friends at Watch The Throne's afterparty.
Who said pregnancy would slow her down? Always great to hear about this awesome couple. They haven't revealed the sex of the baby, but it's totally a girl.

Daphne Guinness on Food: Who Needs It?!
Heiress and fashion icon Daphne Guinness is raising eyebrows this week as the subject of a profile in this week's issue of The New Yorker magazine.
In it, Daph displayed her affinity for style over comfort.
Put more succinctly, she'll starve herself to look good.
The article describes Guinness at a David-Bowie inspired photo shoot, where she didn't mind taking pains to make her fashion look original:
"To incarnate Ziggy Stardust, she let a stylist place an enormous metallic collar around her neck; the stylist apologized for any discomfort.
"Are you kidding?" Guinness said. 'Uncomfortable is the name of the game.'"
During the shoot, she also declined to mix food and fashion, because, according to the heiress, the two are kind of mutually exclusive.
Celebrity Diets: The Worst of the Worst
Interesting move by the OK! editorial board.
Last week, this entertainment news magazine reported that Kim Kardashian wed, 3-4 days before she actually tied the knot with baller Kris Humphries.
This week, when they would have an actual Kim wedding to report on/make up stories about, they opt for the celebrity diet filler issue. What gives?
Perhaps OK! realized that Kim kashed in by selling her wedding pics to People and that their best chance was to jump the gun. Not a terrible idea, really.
In any event, we've got your standard celebrity diet issue here - and apparently, for several well-known celebrity moms, there is cause for concern.
From Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie to Victoria Beckham and LeAnn Rimes, ladies in Hollywood have some DANGEROUS ways of slimming down.
Are some of their diets too extreme? Who eats baby food? Who is such a fitness freak that she pumps iron at all hours? Who lives on 190-calorie meals?
Probably none of them, but hey, gotta sell copies somehow.
Cynthia De La Vega Stripped of Miss Mexico Crown Due to Alleged Weight Gain
Another beauty pageant scandal is upon us. But this one has nothing to do with lewd photos, crucifixion reenactments or gay marriage stances.
Cynthia De La Vega appeared on Good Morning America today and claimed officials took away her Miss Mexico title because she dared to gain six pounds. The 19-year old was scheduled to represent her country in November's Miss World Pageant.
"I was very, very excited because I thought this would be a great experience," Cynthia said, adding of her reaction to the stripped sash: "I was very sad and very deceived. I cried and cried and cried."
Event organizers see things differently, of course. They claim the teenager old lost her crown due to a "lack of dedication and discipline." But De La Vega said she attended every class and was prepared to compete in November.
What do you think? Cynthia De La Vega losing her crown is...

Being Frankel: Bethenny Dishes on Past Eating Disorder, Weight Struggle
She's the woman being Naturally Thin diet books, but Bethenny Frankel admits in the latest issue of Redbook that there was nothing natural about her past eating habits.
"I used to get drunk and binge on everything in the deli, and then do a juice fast or starve, then do it all over again," she says.
However, the reality star's 2009 pregnancy changed her focus for the better.
"Most people treat pregnancy like the big binge, and then they can't take the excess weight off so they go on a crash diet," she explained. "I didn't listen to anyone; I knew I was going to do it my way."
The Situation Reveals His Diet, Fitness Secrets
The Situation (Mike Sorrentino from Jersey Shore) is revealing his diet secrets to Men's Fitness. In a word ... steroids. Massive amounts of steroids.
Just kidding. Probably. In all seriousness, he breaks it down for alla youse guidos out there in the December/January issue with his eight simple rules.
How does The Situation get that body?
With dedication, you too can look like this class act.
- Drinking tons of water.
- Eating six times a day – three meals and three protein shakes.
- Choosing lean proteins, fruits and veggies whenever possible.
- Getting 6-8 hours of sleep, so your “body grows and repairs itself.”
- Avoiding simple carbs and junk calories, including condiments.
- Approaching it as a long-term goal, not an instant transformation.
- Making working out your #1 commitment, as it builds discipline.
- Giving himself one “cheat day” a week when you can eat what you choose and shoot up as much HGH as you want recover from all the training.
What are you waiting for? Sitch has spoken. The ladies aren't gonna wanna smash it up unless you craft an eight-pack out of that gut, losers.
Lady Gaga Reveals Diet Tips
Lady Gaga doesn't stay in tip top shape while traveling the globe and rocking the house every night by accident. Nor did she at all for a bit there.
Still, she lets us in on some diet secrets here.
With the demands of performing, recording, and being one of her generation's top pop stars in general, Lady Gaga has a lot on her plate - and has to make sure what she puts on it, too, after fainting during a concert in New Zealand this year.
It's hard work being Lady Gaga, but someone's gotta do it.
"It's all about salsa with grain chips, tofu, turkey slices, hummus and coconut water," says LaurieAnn Gibson, her choreographer, who is nominated for two MTV VMAs for helping engineer Gaga's "Bad Romance" and "Telephone" videos.
Ali Fedotowsky Shares Diet, Fitness Tips
It might look like all fun, games, amazing dinners and contrived drama, but filming a reality show like The Bachelorette can be tough. Just ask Ali Fedotowsky.
“I was always hungry!” she tells OK! about how she gained 10 pounds on the show (not that anyone knew). “I didn’t think much of it, but everyone noticed.”
We doubt it. We've seen no Bachelorette spoilers about Ali's alleged weight gain. If anything, an extra few pounds look good on her. But it's all good either way.
How did she change her eating habits when she got back home?
“I am good during the week, and one day I pig out,” Ali says. “But I don’t cook! I am learning a little bit. I can be hard to eat healthy when you don’t cook."
"I love egg white omelets because I can actually cook the egg whites myself! I also go to the grocery store, and I will buy the ready-made grilled chicken."
Click to enlarge more pictures of The Bachelorette star.
"I buy 4-5 at a time, and I’ll have them with a salad - a prepared salad from a bag.” And there's your Ali Fedotowsky diet, folks. But what about exercise?
“I am not the person who will be at the gym all the time,” she says. “Usually, I do the treadmill for about 30 minutes, or I will try to do something else.”
Something that helps take out aggression at Frank Neuschaefer?
“I love kickboxing. I have a personal trainer for it. We do contact kickboxing; she holds the pads up for me. It’s such a great workout for my core."
"You can think of ex-boyfriends while you’re doing it!"
Who should she pick on the August 2 finale?

Does Ali Fedotowsky Have an Eating Disorder?
Ali Fedotowsky wants to "crash diet" after gaining a staggering 15 pounds during and after filming The Bachelorette, according to the new issue of Us Weekly.
Either it's a really slow week at Us Weekly, or Ali has an eating disorder and/or severely low self-esteem, because ... well, have you seen her? She's so cute!
Still, "They'd retape scenes, so all she did was eat and drink," a show insider explains. After the show wrapped, "she binged while unwinding with her family."
We're not sure what's more shocking, that Ali Fedotowsky thinks she needs to lose weight, or that they re-tape scenes on The Bachelorette ... no effing way.
We feel like we've been kicked in the stomach, then again in the groin.
Ali Fedotowsky on The Bachelorette, left, and two weeks ago. Do you think she really filled out that much? If anything, those supposed 15 pounds may look good on her.
According to the celebrity gossip tabloid, after she saw her fuller figure on the ABC series' premiere, the 25-year-old was inspired to get back into shape.
"It's been stressful watching herself," a source says of the Facebook ad rep. "She's a size 6 and not meant to be super tiny, but she wants to lose weight."
Her plan - Bachelorette spoilers alert! - a high protein diet of egg whites, calorie counting and daily runs. Not exactly anorexic/bulimic behavior, at least.
Still, is it necessary? Could the rumors that she's still single and picks no one on the season finale be playing a role in this somehow? We're quite curious.
"I'm not sure if she's lost anything yet," says the pal. "But she's trying!"
